Thanks for the input. The three I have tried have all been not so great tasting, with Miracle Reds being the best of the three. Will have to try the phytonutrient powder to see how that works.

Well despite my better judgement, I had a fill today. Just .2cc's, but we are going out of town next week, and my DH did not want me to mess with anything before vacation. Silly me wanted to get checked out and the lady talked me into a "little bit" since I was already there. So far so good. Hopefully, if anything goes awry it will be before Friday. I have watched the new WLS shows on TLC and they are motivating me to get off my butt. I can now do the "Cupid Shuffle" You should check it out. (Cupid Shuffle - Learn the Cupid Shuffle. Show off your Shuffle! Hottest new dance of 2007.) Very easy to learn, and I bet my Step Team girls will get a kick out of it. I can't make it thru the whole song yet, but I will keep trying. (Pathetic ain't it?) I add in my own moves here and there too... like grabbing my chest and praying for air. Have also figured out if I can keep my intake to 1 ounce three times a day like the GB patients, I would lose faster. Now that is crazy. Went to the doctor on Monday to do blood work and make sure I am ok, since my brothers thing has scared me, but have not heard back from that. Will let you know how that turns out. Hope everyone keeps doing well with everyone else. These one year bandiversary numbers are inspiring. Junebies Rock!!!

Lisa, I have only lost 20 lbs in a year. Show him my stats, this shit is hard... don't let him make you feel bad. See if he could do it... I know my hubby couldn't do it.

Tried to edit, but it just gave me smiley faces... Wanted to add I have officially lost 23 lbs in my year, guess it beats a kick to the head...

Back from the hospital with my brother. He is doing better, but gives us all a warning... "don't let it happen to you." What ever the cost, what ever the pain/inconvenience/trouble/cost, don't let it happen to you. While sitting in the waiting room, reading books, I have found out a ton of interesting things about insulin and heart conditions. Have found out that the protein shake I drink every morning, although low carb, actually raises my insulin production (whey protein btw), soy does too, turkey also does it, and the theory is that artificial sweeteners do it too, because the tounge tastes sweet, so the body puts out insulin to counteract it. It can not tell the difference. (This is all from the "carb addicts guide to a healthy heart", btw) So now I am trying to find a new breakfast shake. Going to try "Super Green Foods" tomorrow, all say on the label "heart friendly, cardiovasular health, good for cellular health", etc. Restorative, Concentrated Super-Food you know. If you have any experience with this please let me know. Bought three sample packs to try them out. Will let you know how the "no sugar, no artificial sugar goes". You know, the biggest "b" of all of this, is that my brother (and all us kids) don't smoke like our parents, don't have high cholesterol, or diabetes, and we are healthy other than our hearts. Exact quote from my brothers doctor, "Its weird, he is not all fat, there is a ton of muscle there, I can't explain it, since he is a body builder/nonsmoker/non-diabetic, guess the only thing is genetics." I just need the word "screwed" tatooed on my forehead, I guess. But, I am newly committed, since I promised my brother today to do everything possible to lose weight and avoid heart surgery. I am going to get off my bum, and do what the book says for FOUR days minimum (that is what they ask for) Will let you know how I fare on the Fifth day. Going to see my doctor on Monday, to see if I have the "genetic" valve thing my brother has (and just found out he has at age 44). Be well fellow Junebies....
-
Well, I just got home from a day in the hospital with my brother. He had a heart attack complicated from a valve problem. He is going to need some major modifications to his lifestyle/medicine and if that does not work a valve replacement. He scared the snot out of all of us. Still have a few days left in school... Friday can not come soon enough. My bandiversary is on the 5th and I am down 28 lbs for the year. Better than nothing, I guess. I am totally off sugar again, and after today, I am motivated to get refilled and try again. Hopefully, I will not end up in the hospital like my brother. Hope all is well in bandland for you guys/gals!

Sorry I have not posted lately, I have been having some horrible times with my dog. She has a sore on her tail that leaves blood all over my house, and she looks like an alien from her skin falling out and that cone thing on her head. We took her to the vet and $355.00 later, she has a hot pink tail, is on antibiotics, and we got the lab tests back (allergy testing) and found out that she is allergic to everything under the sun. Our carpet, our grass, her ALLERGY FORMULA dog food, her vitamins, fish, milk, potatoes, corn, carrots, oats, soy, sweet potatoes, peanuts, and the list goes on and on. So much that the poor baby is going to require TWO shots every three days for the rest of her life. The only funny part about this is that we found out our DOG is allergic to CATS! She looks so funny with a hot pink wrapped tail, a cone around her neck, and bald spots everywhere. You would think I torture the poor girl. Diet wise, I am feeling better with my unfill. Can not get back in until summer, but I will go up slower this time. I am enjoying eating salads, fruits (cherries), and all kinds of meat. Doing better on the sweets, but they are still there. Two more weeks of school!!! Yeah!!!

Stevia can be bought at health food stores. I get mine from vitaminshoppe.com. The one I get has fiber in it too to help things out. It tastes better in coffee than Splenda. It is cheaper too. Try it you may like it.
-
I have found Stevia and like it better than Splenda. Just my opinion...

Janelle, I am so sorry to hear your news. I will pray for your nephew. I hate anything happening to kids.

I just finished watching the E true hollywood story about the Osbournes. Sitting there with my hubby, they report that Sharon lost 125 lbs in one year with her lap band. Then my hubby looks at me, and back at the TV. He did not say a word. But for some reason I want to take my fat ass and jump off the nearest bridge.

I have HBP that is why she told me to split it. But, I stopped taking it because I could not sleep.
-
I split the pill and take the 1/2 twice a day. Am on day two and don't know exactly how this is supposed to work. Should I be feeling something by now? I am on the 37mg split to take at 11 and 4:30. Still want to eat stuff. Have no clue what I am suppose to feel.
-
Has anyone had any luck with these? I hope so, as I just bought some seeds to grow my own. Saw a Gardening by the Yard show this morning that said bean sprouts have more vitamins/minerals than their grown counterparts. So I am hoping I can eat less, and get more.
-
Oh, I have been introduced to the world of sprouts. There are a million kinds out there. http://www.sproutpeople.com/ Has a "sampler" pack that I ordered last night to try out the different combonations. I am just hoping and praying that I can eat these with no problems. They have a lot of receipes too that I think can work, like a dip and Soup. And BTW: I love your Bushisms

lizrbit: so sorry that you had to see the complications of smoking in this way. I feel for you and your child. And please, don't be offended by my statements below. They are not geared toward you. My mom/dad/stepdied all died from complications from smoking before they hit 60. We never had anything growing up. No new school clothes, wore my brothers hand me down stuff, etc. But my parents always had smokes and beer. To this day, I hate them for that. My siblings and I don't smoke for many reasons, but I do understand addiction. I believe that everyone has rights. Smokers have the right to smoke, I have the right to eat myself to death, Americans have the rights to buy guns. But no one has the right to harm another. If you want to kill yourself, do it, but don't take anyone else with you. This is the reason I support smoking bans in public places. I think smokers should be respectful of others rights, just as we must respect theirs. But they can do it at home. I don't want to be hit by a stray bullet either, even though the hee-haws have the right to buy guns. But give me a stray brownie fudge sundae any day...

My doctor prescribed this med to me this morning because I can not seem to get over the three day hump on low carb. She gave me 14 days worth, to take 1/2 pill twice a day. Just wondering if it works. Guess I will find out...

A rash won't do it hugh? Well, wait until August in Texas, don't take a shower for a week, and then snap some pics. (ewwwww!)

Eating for your body type- another version

I am type C, which basically says eat meat and veggies. No carbs. Well, duuuhhhhhh.... -
Hummm.... won't let me edit. I forgot to put rroswelltx on the list. Regina hit her 100 lb loss recently and is looking great!

OH heck, I dunno. Going thru the before and after threads you see alot of huge transformations. Telly is hot, Dancing Queen is cute, Divanita is pretty, we have so many beautiful people on here. I bet if we asked for a before and after photo (one of each) on a Supermodel Logo thread, we would have plenty of hotties to put up top. We could vote: Like American Idol. I can see it now: "Who will be our next LBT Idol?" Heck, we could switch it every six months with the changes around here. Of course, you could choose an animal for the logo. How about a hot pink Poodle?

My doctors office says, if you can not eat a 3 oz filet mignon without pain in the evening then you are too tight. I have been overfilled twice now. Praying for death before my last unfill. Unable to drink anything (not even water) until after 5pm, then unable to get anything but really thin mushies down after that. Living 4 weeks like that, I now fill underfilled, seeings how I can drink before noon now, and can eat chicken for dinner. But I can tell you this much. You want to be able to eat the good things (meat/veggies), and if you can't get those down for lunch/dinner, then you are too tight. Most everyone is tight in the morning, so keep a shake handy then, but after noon, you gotta have some meat!!!
-
Just My Opinion, but I do not like the girl either. It would be a great idea to put "one of our own" up there if it has to have a human face to it. We should start a supermodel thread.

Well, now I think I am too loose. My husband wants to slap me. But I ate a WHOLE PIECE OF PIZZA tonight at Chuck E Cheeses. It was a small slice, but it was all gone!!!! I have been drinking water/shakes/coffee/tea all day, ate a piece of bacon this morning. I am living the high life and feeling good. Hope everyone is doing great this Cinco de Mayo! Don't get too drunk!!!!
-
If I am tight a glass of wine helps loosen things up a little. Don't know how soon post op you can have one, but I have about 4 oz twice a week now...
