My schedule is so off during the summer, but my band schedule has me off too. I am too tight to eat in the morning. (May drink a Protein shake if I can.) Can not eat anything until around 12-1 pm. Then I can eat a small meal. When it gets around 4, I am hungry. So I eat "dinner". Then feed the family, put them to bed, get online... and well... I'm hungry. Find that I can eat a WHOLE LOT after 9 pm. And will drink a big cup of milk/water/V8/etc to try and solve the problem... but if that does not work, I eat. Anyone else have the same issues? Any solutions?

Ok, I am a weird person. I was given the name and found the pic on the internet. I emailed the owner and got permission to use it as my avatar. Been using it ever since. I have 2 dogs, a Schnauzer and a Mutt... I don't have a poodle.

I love Brits. I actually had a teacher ask me if I was raised in England because of the way I spell. I have a hard time dropping my E's and love to use that U. Don't know why... may be a carry over from a previous life or something..... I have a friend in England and we IM all the time. I think she reinforces my American ignorance. Oh the colours, rumours, etc...

Some people say that after a week or so their fill "kicks in". Meaning that they don't think it is working at first and then.... bam... there it is. That is why they want at least 3 weeks between fills. (I think) My fill is sooo tight this morning. I can drink my coffee, but MAN am I tight. If this one "kicks in" in a week or so, I will be in trouble. Really hoping that my swelling will go down. Geez... talk about learning my lesson! So happy I had a little removed, I would have been totally miserable if not. So now I will recommend to everyone to go slow and stick around to drink if you can....

I can eat sweet and sour chicken (w/o sauce) but can not eat chicken nuggets. (My first PB was on chicken nuggets.)

Had my second fill, and oh what fun... http://www.lapbandtalk.com/showthread.php?p=269834#post269834 I have been drinking my water, but have had tons of issues this week so have not kept up with the smileys/posting. But YEAH to those of you keeping up the good fight!!!

Lesson learned: Went for my second fill today. Saw Dr. Maese and he added 1 cc. Which is not too agressive. Had my pretty band picture made and he said, "You are tight, be sure to drink warm liquids in the morning." Then I go into the waiting room to drink Water. Less than 5 minutes later, I am throwing up water, back on the table and they take out .4 cc's. I told him I was sorry (based on the "not patient friendly" information I found on the board, I was scared), but he told me that it was nothing to worry about that I was just not used to being that tight, and that I still have twice as much fill as I did before. Not to chatty after that, but I was fixed... Now I have 1.2 cc's.... and can swollow my spit... THANK GOODNESS. Ask and ye shall receive... But maybe less agressive fills are the way to go.

Mousecrazy: I am VERY excited about my new job, my new band, my new HOUSE (we are building one while trying to sell another), and my new self-esteem. Lots of changes this summer! Regarding fill levels and eating later in the day. That is my biggest concern. I can not eat in the mornings, but I can eat two burritos easy at night. That is why I think I need a fill. Something needs to be done. Went to the doctor this morning, and he put me on new meds...Cymbalta. (Says that may help my back pain and "sexual side effects" that I was having on Effexor. Although, I do love Effexor...) But found out that I have lost 18 lbs! Yeah! Really need to watch the midnight Snacks though... bet that number would be really high by now if I skipped the midnight ice cream...

Have heard that it is just caffene that gives you the boost. Have some teenagers that have been on this and it makes them shake really bad. Also hear it raises blood pressure. I use B Complex for energy. That should help if that is all you are looking for. Good luck!

I can not eat until around noon to 1 pm... then I can eat solids. Weird, but I can drink a shake in the am... so no big deal...

A get together would be cool. I'll go in for a Christmas present.... As for the goal thing. We could do it based on % of body weight. We all have a different start number, and some have already lost more than others, based on their start number. For example: Atkins says you should be albe to lose 5% of your body weight in the first 2 weeks. 5% of 300 is 15 lbs. So whomever loses the largest % of their weight wins. Make sense? Just a suggestion.

Don't think I could do it. Now my subconscience has cheated every once in a while in dreams... Orlando, Johnny, and Jackie Chan... Oh my!!! But in real life my dear hubby is all I want or need.

Well, Darn, I forgot to post last night. Did get my smileys off yesterday, and will have to add one for Thurs. I have been quite out of it with the move. Please forgive me if I don't remember to post daily. I know that will knock me out of the challenge, but I promise I will drink my water. Love the water article too. I am having terrible problems with eating this week. I know some of it is mother nature, but I can eat WAY too much. I have measured out my lunch. 1 cup of stew, and will try to see how I do on that, but last night I ate 3/4 of a taco salad from taco bell. CARBS are the DEVIL!! I need to get off of them again and quick.... Will check back in again tonight to add my water smileys. Have a great day!

I wish there was a way to tell someone like me what satiety feels like. I eat until my tummy hurts, and then I know I need to stop... but think that might be a little too late.

I had my first fill on 7/11. It was .6cc in a 4 cc band. I have the first bite syndrome. I can not eat first thing in the morning, BUT after 1 o'clock in the afternoon I can eat ANYTHING. Bread included. My quantities are less, but tonight I ate 3 pieces of thin crust pizza. (bad choice I know, but it went down). I don't get a golf ball feeling except with the first few bites, then I can eat. It seems that I can any amount of ground meat, but I try to measure it. I have been eating only Protein but tonight I went off the deep end. SOMETHING IS WRONG! I think I need a fill, BUT SCOR is "out of network" and will cost $150.00 per fill. I have TRS activecare BC/BS. My only other choice it seems is Dr. Maese, and he has rec'd varied reports from members of the board. I don't know what to do. I have not lost any more weight. Some people banded on the same day have lost 3 times what I have. I am frustrated. Crying. Stressed.... and hungry. What would you do? Wait for a fill? Get a fill asap? I have read all of the "how to know if you need a fill" things, and the first half of the day, I don't need one, but the second half I do. It is so freaken crazy!!! Does anyone else know of a fill doctor in Allen/Plano area?

I have been wearing old lady/old man shoes for the past few years to work. No one really said anything to me because I made the joke before they could. But, I am going into a larger school district with a more strict dress code, and my old lady shoes probably will not go over. I have been wearing Apex Ambulator Diabetic Shoes, SAS shoes, and PW Minor shoes. I am not diabetic, but they make wider shoes with tons of padding, so I can make it thru the day without ending up with foot/back/hip pain. I am on my feet all day, going around in circles helping every kid in the room. Do you have a suggestion on a more fashionable alternative? Or should I stick with my "clown shoes" and go with the jokes as I have before? Honestly, I would rather them think of me as an unfashionable goof than to hurt all day. Any and all help would be appreciated, as I am not too into fashion.

Cheating..No, not with food!
Poodles replied to kimalicious's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I told my hubby that marraige is until death do us part... and some days it does not look too good for him... You know we went to the counceling before we got married, and I was wanting to be the "good wife" doing all the housework, working, taking care of the kids. Whore in the bedroom, cook in the kitchen, saint as a mother type stuff... and you know as life goes on things change. We seperate out the chores based on what we like to do/or can stand to do, we have great marital relations but sometimes we go thru a lull, we cook when we can, get takeout or microwave things sometimes, and we both take the kid to school and help with homework. It is a partnership. We have been thru alot, and I can honestly say that you must want to grow and change with the person you are married to or you won't make it. He has lived thru my LOTR phase, now we are going thru my Lapband phase, I have lived thru his motorcycle phase, big truck phase, and we both live thru each others changing job phases. You grow, you learn, you live, and you love. You choose to love them, and as long as you can live together it works. As for the sex part, he told me that if I ever cheated on him he would understand that it was just for sex. He knows I love him. I told him if he ever cheated on me, they would not be able to re-attach what I cut off because it would end up down the garbage disposal. But I figure as long as you keep things interesting, have a surprise for him every now and again, that I won't ever have to worry about that... and if he does cheat I can leave. I always tell him... I don't need him, but I want him... and I still do. Just my two cents... -
Old Lady Shoes... Comfortable Shoes... Diabetic Shoes
Poodles replied to Poodles's topic in The Lounge
Missy N: You should check out www.lapbandsolutions.com and search Dr. Benevides, and Surgery Center of Richardson on the boards. Thanks for all the advice on shoes. I have new clothes now (from the Catherines sale) and now I need to get some shoes to match. Think I need to go out and try some of these brands on, since I have been in Apex Ambulators, PW Minor, and SAS OR walmart flip flops for the past 8 years. I have no clue about some of these names... -
Cheating..No, not with food!
Poodles replied to kimalicious's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I have been married 12 years, I have never cheated, and as far as I know, neither has my hubby. Now as for the sane part... I did have a wild dream about Jackie Chan about a week before I found out I was pregnant with my son. My hubby told me that counted as a cheat. The absolutely HILARIOUS part is that my son came out red, with slanted eyes... looked just like a little Chinese baby. Now he looks just like my DH.... thank goodness.:high5: ***just had to put in a Jack stalking thing... Wonder if my next baby will be born with an eye patch???? -
I have scheduled my second fill with Dr. Maese on August 2nd. I sure hope he is aggressive. This silly .6 cc's is not doing the trick. I am in the same boat with Leila, and my hubby is getting a little frustrated with me. Told him it will be better with a proper fill. Then I will start losing more. I went to Catherines yesterday and bought $450 worth of school clothes... but they were 80% off. :jaw: I would have never been able to do that if they were full price. So glad I found that sale. Woke up sick this morning. Actually had to take a phenagren, but it did not help. I heaved up stomach acid first thing... cried and cried, because I was worried about my band, but things have been going down ok, so I guess everything is ok. Have been taking it easy since. My hubby seems to think I got sick from the paint fumes yesterday. I think Mother Nature is about to visit. Either way, the phenagrin helped... and knocked me out for a few hours of much needed rest. Don't think I get a smiley face today. I only had 2 bottles of water, 40 ounces, and about 12 ounces of v8 juice. Did not drink alot, since I was out of it much of the day. Oh well, tomorrow is another day....

I am Captain Prudence, wonder if pirates take first names instead of last... you know for when I capture Captain Jack....

Eggs are hard for me to get down. I tried it once and have been afraid to try it again. Painted my dining room today. Lovely coffee with cream color. Guess that might be called Mocha. I really like it, too bad I painted it that color to sell the place. But I think my new house may have a room that color too. As for liquids: 8 ounces milk, 70 ounces water, 8 ounces coffee. Not too hard to drink all the water you need when your working all day!!! I am going to call Dr. Maese tomorrow to see about another fill. Then I think I am going to try the Thin for Good diet again. I always lose with that, and I think I can stick to it now since I have "help". It is just a low carb diet from Dr. Pescatore. It also has motivational things to help you thru the day and try to change bad behaviors. Will let you know how things go!

I have come across pictures of peoples fills and I find it quite interesting. I don't have my picture of my first fill, but know that I was more open than some of the pictures I have seen on the board. Wondering if the experienced bandsters will post their fill pictures and tell if they had restriction with the fill or not. Really interested to SEE what restriction looks like. Thanks!

Thank you Leatha!
