I am jealous of your weight loss rate. I am still only at 27 lbs, but that is bouncing around a lot. I did have a NSV this morning I thought I would share. I can bring my knees up into my chair to sit down!!! No more fat belly in the way. Well, I still have the belly, just not as much of it!

Yeah, my hubby told me not to get too thin. Then I asked him to show me what he thinks is too thin... and I would never get there anyway. I would rather have the "don't get too skinny" problem than the "don't get too fat" issue. I also understand the online issue, but meeting in a public place and taking a friend will help with some of the issues.

Have you ever heard of a chubby-chaser? There are men out there that like "real" women. I found one, he is sitting on my couch right now. I don't worry about the thin ones with him, it is the chubbo's that he likes... like me. That being said, if I did not speak to him, we would not be married. Quite literally, I met him at a Burger King. We were both in line, and I started talking to him. Then we sat down together and have been together 13 years now. He never would have asked me out if I had not started the conversation. That was when I was 260 lbs. Back in HS, when I was a size 10 I never had any problems with men approaching me, but they did not see me... they saw the body not the mind. Now I know, my chubby chaser husband did the same thing, but I don't have to worry about my weight with him. As for the mental issues, who does not have them? I swear there is no such thing as normal, just varied degrees of weird. If my bi-polar sister could find a man... I am sure you can. There is someone out there for everyone. May not be at your school, or at your local Burger King, but they are out there. Ever thought of an online site? Church group? Or maybe, you should focus on you for a while. Not worry about ex-boyfriends/boyfriends/gay friends, just make your life better. Then someone will want to come into your life to stay. Good luck honey, and remember: "you're good stuff".

I loved Units, but could never afford them. My friend let me borrow hers sometimes. I looked goooood with Units and scrunchy socks... ha ha!

In August I went for a fill and was filled "blind". They put in 1 cc and then had to remove .4cc's because I was throwing up Water in the office. Since that time I have been living on liquids and mushies. Anything that will go thru the band without pain. I tried to wait out the fill thinking that it would loosen up. I did not want to waste my money/time getting an unfill. Since I could eat something I did not worry. Even posted here asking what to eat. Canceled several fills in between there and here, feeling like a failure, because I had not lost weight. Finally, I decided to go in and face the music, get yelled at, what ever... I went for my fill today. Went to SCOR where they do the fills under floro. They ended up taking out another .4 cc's. Said that I was really tight. My pouch is a little distended, but they said that will go back down. I asked why it was distended and they said that drinking water with that much restriction could stretch it, so I should not feel bad about it. Told me to never wait this long between fills, especially being that restricted. I have lost 4 lbs since August. Guess that is something. I met with the patient counselor and she gave me a ton of advice. Mostly that the band is NOT suppose to hurt. We are meant to eat REAL meat. Not the stuff put thru the blender, and ground meat. My instructions are to be on liquids today, mushies tomorrow, and SOLID foods the next day. Blenders are a no no for me, I need to get a filet mignon and try that in the pm (poor me), and if that hurts I may need to get more removed. I have the medium band, which was tight in the first place. The counselor said I might have needed the big band, so the band itself is tight, and with a little fill I should be fine. Told me not to judge myself based on fill level, because everyone is different. She has been banded several years so she knows what I am going thru. Fill level goal is to not hurt and to not let too much go thru. Eat solid foods (no more spoons) and don't drink during meals (which I haven't been doing anyway). Someone somewhere is going thru the same thing, and being overfilled is a pain in more ways than one. So here is what I have learned: You won't lose eating mushies. The band is not suppose to hurt. Eat only things that you can eat with a fork. You are not a failure if you have to get an unfill. You just have to find the right spot. You must learn how to use this tool. Others can offer advice, but every BODY is different. Hope this helps someone.

I found something that works for me, thought I would share. Kroger had the South Beach dinners on sale, and I had coupons, so I thought I would try them. The dinners are quite good, and for me, band friendly. The pork and green Beans works well, the pizza worked (at night), but the breakfast burritos did not. I was so excited to eat the pork dinner for lunch with no issues... at work!!! Think I may get some more of those... Carb Haters forever!!!!

Pouch dilated...had to get complete unfill today
Poodles replied to housecatgirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
So sorry about your unfill. I hope the rest helps. Please keep us updated on how your pouch is when you go back for the fill. I have done the same thing, stretched my pouch. I started using the Ziploc xsmall container, that holds one cup, and I am hoping that will help my pouch go back to regular size. This might help you before you get your fill. As for the Malox, just do what the DR says. He/she knows best. Hope you feel better. -
Regained weight, scared, need support :(
Poodles replied to HamuChan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I know how you feel. I have been banded 6 months and have not lost much. My carb addiction got ahold of me and kept the lbs on. Now I am hoping that with a new year, I will start again, and will catch up with the other "Junebies". Keep your head up, get focused. You can do it! -
James Spader is definitely hot... and at one time he would have been on my list. Kissable lips. I just thought of another guy... Blair Underwood. Saw him on the New Adventures of Old Christine tonight... lookin good. But then again, I bet the "real" Jack would knock everyone else off my list...

Is it really worth it?
Poodles replied to victoria21's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was overfilled, I would have answered, "hell no it is not worth it". Constaint pain, no weight loss, and being miserable is not worth it. Now that I have had an unfill, I can eat the things I need to, and only about 3/4 to 1 cup of it and feel fine. You still must eat the right things, ie fruits/veg/meat and cut out the sweets. The band will let the bad things straight thru, so if your diet consists of ice cream and chocolate the band will not help you... darn it. Good luck. -
My doctor has recommended that I chew or crush regular pills and to open up capsules, but I was wondering if anyone has tried capsules with the band? I am wanting to take some Vitamins without taking them out of their "shell". ie: b-complex/milk thistle/vitamin e/evening primrose oil. I know solid pills would have issues, but don't capsules just turn into a jelly like substance? I know these things come in liquids, and have tried them, but man are they gross!!! Thanks for the advice...

Has your family lost as a result of your loses?
Poodles replied to myturnow's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
My bills have gone up, because I can only eat some things, and DH and Son like others. Hubby has stayed the same weight, but both will help me finish what I can not eat. :welldone: -
DH list: Sandra Bullock Carlize Theron (sp?) Jennifer Aniston My list: Jackie Chan Orlando Bloom TBA... definately a toss up between Josh Holloway (sawyer from Lost) and Jack from the Simpsons (& LBT)... I love Jack!!!!

I just keep saying it... George W. Bush is the anti-Christ and he has thrown us into the start of WWIII. We will never get out of there. He has sold us all out... democrat and republican alike.

I liked Maese when I went, but it kind of scares me that I was left overfilled. Really liked that my insurance paid for him too...

Ok, I think I may be brave and try a softgel. What fun experimenting with our bands. Its like Russian Roulette...

What would the boy/girl you were at 18... think of the MAN/WOMAN you are today?
Poodles replied to Telly's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Missy C... you forgot to add the "yet". -
eggs are a bit hard for some bandsters. I have found that egg beaters works better for me... don't know exactly why. Has anyone noticed their sleep patterns change? When I go low carb, I don't sleep as much.

Last night I tried the capsules with hot tea, and I felt them. Kinda uncomfortable. Tonight I held the capsule in my mouth, full of hot tea, and swallowed when I felt them get soft. Much better. My RX meds soften quicker than Vitamins. I thought that was weird.

Hey, I found a zip lock x-small container that holds exactly one cup. Thought you would like to know. I have been using it today and have found that I don't eat a whole cup of stuff. I think it is good to have the Max in front of me, with the option of putting a lid on it and saving it for later. Hope this helps you too!!!

My 18, size 10 self, would be proud that I graduated college, amazed that I did not marry the Axel Rose lookalike/guitar playing/chain smoking guy she was dating, and happy to be in a happy marriage (her only one) with the cowboy/good ol boy and only 1 kid. She would be sad that she had the accident that made her not able to walk, with 5 disks out in her back, but proud that thru rehab she got better. She would be upset that her lifeguard figure went up to a multiple of 10, but happy that we figured out how to help it. She would be amazed that we never taught 3rd grade and ended up with high schoolers (3rd graders in bigger bodies), but happy that we get the chance to help others daily. All in all, the 18 year old me would be proud of the 33 year old me. We made it out of the home life we grew up in, made it past several low points in our lives, and look forward to a happy healthy future. -
I am just lucky to not have that craving anymore. If I slip, then I will be off again, but for now its all good. Cheetos are the devil. I would always gain 10 lbs of Water because of the salt... but they are good... especially when you dip them in sour cream!!!

I did a little experiment and timed how long it takes a capsule to dissolve in hot Water. It takes about 30 seconds. So, I figure that if I take the capsules with hot liquid/coffee that it will work. What do you think???
