What Is (or Was) Holding You Back from Weight Loss Surgery?
NekayLaw replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I was in law school trying to lose on my own.. Which if anyone knows the stress with law school it didnt work. So now im on a year vacation from school and working at a place that has good insurance. Having it with kaiser is easier because the requirements are simple. So now im able to actually take the time to get it done. -

I picked the bypass because i need to lose more than 100 pounds. And after talking with my weight loss specialist it seems to be the better option for me. -

Need to drop 30lbs for surgeon
NekayLaw replied to mrsob1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
they give you everything you need to know and the classes are helpful so long as you really pay attention. its tedious but it works, just don't gain ANY weight while you are taking the class's that's the only real advice i can give you on that and make sure you get EVERYTHING done the way they tell you to and keep your binder in order so you are on top of everything. I have supposedly 18 lbs to go before i am given the green light by the surgeon but hes not really giving me any indication that he "feels" like i can have a surgery date, even though i am losing like 3lbs a week roughly and proving my dedication. it means nothing and people who are at an unhealthier level are getting to get their surgeries. its frustrating so DONT gain any weight in the classes lol.thank you. -

This thread is very informational. Thanks for that. I will be going to some kaiser informational in like a week. I hear the process here in California is different than other places as far as getting approved. My doctor said i shouldnt have any approval issues. So thats good. The whole hair loss thing i am worried about. I have really thick hair and like it the way it is lol. Anyone else have the southern california kaiser that can tell me the process etc? Thanks.
