What were your favorite first "solid" foods?
Whitney1968 replied to FocusOnMeNow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Babbs I had no idea that high protein foods would keep you fuller longer. What about the black bean pasta? Had you heard of that? I looked it up. Its expensive. You mentioned beans but the are full of carbs too. -
What were your favorite first "solid" foods?
Whitney1968 replied to FocusOnMeNow's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@@Babbs Ive just been so hungry lately, carbs is just so easy. Whether it be pasta, potatoes or beans. My dr. suggested cream of wheat once I started mushy foods. I get my necessary proteins from eating and Isopure shakes. When do you think I can eat a little bit of brown rice? I havent had any problems chewing, swallowing or keeping things down. I feel like I can eat anything. I can finally start on salads tomorrow. It says not to eat shrimp until the following week but I snuck a few in when I ate Pho 2 weeks ago. However, I noticed I put on 2 lbs when I was eating the pasta from ramen noodles, pho, etc. Your input would be grately appreciated. -

@@tugs Will you be having rice or lo mein noodles? I went to solid foods after 3 weeks. The only mushy foods I had was mashed potatoes and creamof wheat. I never went thru the purree stage like I was supposed to. I have been eating pasta from ramen noodles since week 3 with no problems. Gonna try rice today. -

@marandogs That sounds good. Is that on the 'Pasta aisle". I've never heard or seen that before. Let me know how it is. -

Stalling - week 5
Whitney1968 replied to CJ Porter's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too stalled between week 5 and 6. Lasted almost 2 weeks. I got very frustrated. Unfortunately, there isn't much you can do. No matter how much you exercise, starve yourself, etc., the scale will go down when your body is ready. Hang in there. -

Isopure question
Whitney1968 replied to SalOdyssey's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Isopure powder for Protein shakes. The banana Creme is good. The strawberry and Creme is good. The Dutch chocolate is horrible. Make sure you get the Zero Carb ones. I mist mine with Water. The powder is not clear. Also, I don't know where you are ordering your Isopure from BUT, go to Puritan's Pride website. They are the cheapest. CALL and order, don't just order on the website. When you call, tell them that you heard you can get a discount. The 3lb powders are about $44.99. I got $15 off my first one and $10 off my second one. Let me know how you do. -
What happens if you eat something before you're supposed to (clear liquid, puree, etc.)?
Whitney1968 replied to sonnysun's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too at 2-3 weeks couldn't help but eat some noodles. At 3 weeks, I eat half the noodles from ramen noodles or the cup-a-noodles soup. Nothing bad has happened to me. I needed it. I couldn't stand not to chew anything anymore. Just make sure you chew chew chew until is is almost like a paste. -
Try MiraLax

Hair Coloring Question
Whitney1968 replied to kranky813's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I would not go darker. I know most people do for the fall/winter butttt, I notice bald spots more on darker hair. With the bleach, your hair is more dense and it wont look as bad. I know you said you live in a small town and dont want your business spread around. I would say tell her but most beauticians love to gossip. How many people do you know go to your stylist? If none, tell her IF she asks and ask her not to put your business out there. If she doesnt ask, dont tell. -
I have no restriction 2 1/2 weeks out, can eat normal portions. WHY?!
Whitney1968 replied to Nomorethickchick's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I didn't know you could request for a smaller sleeve. I wish I would have known and asked for it. I'm like you, I can eat alot more than the other people on here saying they are full at 2-3 bites. I remember in the hospital when they brought me broth, tea, Water, crystal light and Jello. I didn't hear the part when the dietician said to eat/drink on every couple of hours. I drank the entire things on my tray in one sitting as still wasn't full. -
Please, help I'm starving....
Whitney1968 replied to bluedawn28's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was always hungry too when on broth. When you are able to eat yogurt, that is when it helped me a little. Once you can get on mushy foods, it gets much much better. -
DO NOT!!!!!!!!!!! You wouldnt not want to wake up at all, huh?

Regrets and worried for the future
Whitney1968 replied to Champ715's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When i joined a month ago, i felt the same way. Thankfully, i wasnt the only one. For me, the worst was after the hospital and the 2 weeks to follow eating nothing but broth. I was sooo excited to move uo to mushy foods and look forward to eating salads in 2 weeks. Hang in there. You will get alot of support here. -

Cream of Wheat is like a smooth oatmeal or smooth grits. You can different flavors. Or look up high in protein, low in carbs breakfasts -
