RGraham87 reacted to winklie in 2 weeks beyond surgery still hungry 2,200 calories a day what's wrong?
First, you have a really easy going NUT and Surgeon if you can eat a Lean Cuisine at 3 weeks post. I am on pureed food and very limited at that. The amount of food you can imbibe is directly linked to the size of the pouch, if you can get that much food in you, time to consider sitting down with the Surgeon and having a discussion, something about your pouch is wrong. You could have a Fistula (which is a connection to the old stomach) and this would explain why you can get that much food in you. But aside from that, a properly constructed pouch would make it impossible to get that kind of food inside you, I mean 3 lean cuisines at a time, that's crazy. A Fistula can be repaired under a local with an endoscope, not a bad fix, if your pouch is way too big or stretched like crazy, there is but one fix, another surgery, to reduce the pouch size to the correct size.
    Best of luck

I am 28 years old and I have always been bullied my whole life about one thing or another. People would find a reason to bully me. It really hurts. I don't have a best friend. I have sisters. I have acquaintances. I have been hurt by friends too. I think everyone has.
I am one month post op on October 29th. I am not giving people another reason to pick on me. I am not telling anyone about my surgery but my family.

I had a friend quite a few years ago who had to have hers reversed because she became severely malnourished. (This person did not follow the food plan at all nor did she take her Vitamins ever)
This was in the 90's and at that time they did only open gastric bypass.
She actually got to a point where she could not keep anything down and would not listen to her doctors. She decided to have the surgery reversed. She weighed less than 100 lbs on the day of the reversal. She was 5'1" tall and started above 300 pounds.
She had the surgery reversed and it went well.
Within a year she was well over 200 lbs and on her way to back where she was.
I only know all of this because I took care of her 5 kids for both surgeries. I lived in her home and saw the garbage she was eating and trust me there was never a Protein shake, or Vitamin around ever. She had a rather large family to feed so they ate a lot of preoackaged foods like Mac and cheese with tuna and Soup in it. (Yuck!) I swear I gained 30lbs in less than a year living with her.
Honestly part of the reason I waited so long to move forward with bypass was because of what I experienced living with her. It took me going to classes and doing lots of research to realize how safe bypass is these days when you follow the plan.

I have already purchased from the store and was pleased. They also tossed in a few free samples of other items which was pleasant surprise. Love the spicy Turkey Jerky!!! Thanks Alex Brecher!
I will definately be ordering again. I love the autoship feature and the varied month option. Shipping was quick. I look forward to trying other products offered as they are cheaper than buying direct from brand name manufacturers.

I am well. I have started my Protein Shakes. My pain is controlled. As of Friday, I have lost 18lbs since my last weigh in on sept 24th. That was when I started my pre-op diet. I was nervous and excited on my surgery day of sept 29th. So as of today that's 18lbs lost in 10 days. I weighted myself today and I'm still the same as I was Friday, Oct 2nd. I know my body is now in starvation mode. I just need to keep going and stay strong! Good luck to all you October surgery peeps!

I also recommend anything by Dave Fouts. He's a WLS patient himself and found his "calling" as a bariatric chef afterwards. Some of the titles are:

I can walk okay. I just can't walk for long. In the shower, I sit on a bench because I can't stand long. My energy needs work. My pain is under control. In the hospital. I could only eat my sugar free Jello. broth made me nauseous at first. But that went away now I am enjoying some sugar free Jell-O's, sugar-free pudding mixed with Protein Powder, Adkins Protein Shakes, and broth. Remember your portions. Don't forget to drink a lot of Water. I am still fearing that I'm going to end up with dehydration. But that's probably just my paranoia. Hope this helps Ron

I actually use it all the time with onions, green pepper, mushrooms and chicken breast. It is my version of chicken cacciatore and it is absolutely delicious.
I also make meatballs cover them in sauce top with fresh mozerella and parm and bake it in the oven.
I also make lasagna using strips of zucchini for the noodles. Add your cheeses and bake in the oven. I do add ground sirloin to beef up the Protein count.
You can also make eggplant parmesean with it. I use almond flour for the breading on the eggplant. Yum!

My nutrition after surgery book from our class states sugar alcohols are NOT ok if you've had bypass because it too can cause dumping. Anything ending in -itol should be avoided. So, I'd avoid those. You can find sugar free puddings that are sweetened with Splenda or aspartame(if you can handle it) that will not cause dumping or distress.
