I'm 6 days away from surgery & scared as heck!
RGraham87 replied to girl4god77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think I was at my worst the day of surgery. I started crying in the waiting room because no one went with me to support me and it was kinda scary. I kept saying to myself that I'm going to get skinny and be happy and there is nothing anyone can do to stop me. I had to talk to my doctor about a anxiety medication after surgery. I am good now -

Just go look at yourself in the mirror. Remember your taking control and ready to lose this weight Forever! No messing up. Stock up on a gas-x, broth, Splenda, decaf coffee, and jello. Hey very attention to your bowel movement. If you don't go call your doctors office. I didn't go for seven days and I ended up getting bowel obstruction. I prefer to tell you now instead of you finding out the hard way. As for juice, i drink strawberry banana v8 LIGHT. 50 calories. It was to sweet at first. I had to water it down. My taste buds changed after surgery. I'm 7 month post op. I had the RNY. I'm down 100lbs. good luck! -
No soda ever again. Unless it's flat. The carbonation can stretch your stomach back out and it's painful I hear. Which would totally suck for everything you went through to get the surgery. I have a new favorite drink.. At least post op drink. It's the v8 light- strawberry banana. I'm 7 months post op and down 100lbs! I feel great :-)

I ate sugar today for the first time--and I didn't dump. Not happy!
RGraham87 replied to bugsy72's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It might depend on what you eat. I can eat a little amounts of things. I try eating anything fried and I get sick. Anything high in sugar will make me dump. I can't drink anything with over 15 g of sugar. I buy the V8 strawberry banana light juice and dilute it with water. It's great! I know Splenda is not good for you but I use that most of my foods instead of sugar. At least until I discover something better It might depend on what you eat. I can eat a little amounts of things. Looking for Bypass buddies in NY

I'm near Binghamton NY -
It's important to be strong. You'll never be about to have anything carbonated like soda. Just follow your instructions of the pre-surgery diet. My taste buds actually changed after surgery. Sugar, pasta, and bread made me sick. Plus my favorite steak isn't my favorite anymore.

I told my dietitian about having food funerals... She flipped on me. I kept doing it but I always used position control. No more then a cup

Oh my life I've taken ibuprofen. I am eight weeks postop after having the gastric bypass's. I have Tylenol because I know I can't have ibuprofen. I have a collection of ibuprofen that doesn't expire until 2018. Well I ever be able to take ibuprofen again.

I'm 6 weeks post op. I was told never drink while eating. Is this forever? I just had my first 3 slices of sharp cheese. Now I was a drink. I don't want to wait 45 mins to an hour

Has anyone ever experienced having their RNY undone due to complications?

Bariatric pal store ratings
RGraham87 replied to RGraham87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got the the macaroni and steak, a few chocolate items like The cookie and cream, I did get the quest spaghetti and I'm hoping it's going to taste normal-ish. I got the jerky. I also got the double chocolate cake. I figured if I have chocolate cravings I should have something good to fix them. I had to get more Barimelts. -
What have you bought and how would you rate the taste?
-
I hear you! It gets old. I have 5 boxes of jello I will never touch. I am in the soft food phase.

Peanut butter?

Try pb2. You can get on unjury.com or in your local GNC -
Yes... I had to much hello and now avoid it. I started taking v8 light stawberry/banana flavor and dilute it with water. The sugar is 12g. I also add the unflavored protein to it. Amazing!

My nutritionist said no sugar alcohol or at least for the first couple weeks.

Ladies only! after Bowel obstruction surgery
RGraham87 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am a few days off to being one month postop with the RNY gastric bypass. Had Bowel obstruction surgery and hernia repair surgery 2 weeks ago. Has anyone heard of their vagina smelling horribly wrong (like poop) after bowel obstruction surgery? I never had any weird odors down there before. -
How are you treated by people pre-surgery versus post-surgery?

And when it came to work I had hippa (patient privacy act) on my side. I told work that I had appendicitis -
How are you treated by people pre-surgery versus post-surgery?
RGraham87 replied to james1's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 28 years old and I have always been bullied my whole life about one thing or another. People would find a reason to bully me. It really hurts. I don't have a best friend. I have sisters. I have acquaintances. I have been hurt by friends too. I think everyone has. I am one month post op on October 29th. I am not giving people another reason to pick on me. I am not telling anyone about my surgery but my family. -
So I am starting this topic because I just had double hernia surgery, two weeks after having my RNY. I was wondering what other people's complications were after surgery even ages six months after.
-
Surgery was last Tuesday. I had the RNY bypass done. I went on Friday and now I still haven't gone. I even had a piece of something I thought would make me dump. I didn't dump. Then I had 3 servings of benefiber today... And nothing. I see my surgeon on Monday for Post Op check up. What do you think?
