Hi Everyone I'm newly 60 yrs of age and married for 42.5 yrs mom of 3, one passed in 81, still working full time, and my weight kept creeping up on me.  I had lost 30 lbs 3 yrs ago for surgery for acid reflux/hiatal hernia, but the weight came back and even more, I walk, I hit the gym when I have the time and I was on weight watchers for a year and so many other programs.  I had to apply for gastric bypass with my insurance company first and figured I'd be denied because I was a few years ago....but now I have high blood pressure, still battling acid reflux but not the extent it was, I have Barrett's esophagus which is a precancerous condition, it's not cancerous THANK GOD!! But can become so if I don't get the reflux under control, which 90% of it is.  I know when this weight goes I will be much healthir and less chances of my esophagus going bad :( I have arthritis throughout my entire body, so I can't wait to lose this weight and hit the gym often and do my favorite activity ........walk!!! I love love love to walk.  I have other things as well.  So Monday coming up I have my first consultation that hubby has to go with me, it's 8 hrs in length as a group for all of us approved...now to just get through the appts and such and then wait for my surgery date.....I am so excited, should have seen me when I got the phone call I was approved, would have thought I won the lottery because it sure felt like it.  I am in Michigan and please say hello!
