  1. I have stalled for the last month and am actually okay with it. My doctor laughed at me when I explained that I was tired of clothes shopping. I started this journey at 348. I dropped about 25 pre-surgery. I'm down to right at 200 now. I enjoy being a 14/16....buying an occasional Large. I've size out of Lane Bryant/Catherine's and it feels beyond weird. My husband had his surgery this last May. He's already lost close to 120. I love him and hate him at the same time. LOL

    Stalling...uggh!

I see my doc and NUT next week. I'm not in a panic over anything. I think I might need to up calories, but considering the food fight my entire life it feels weird to be on the side of needing to increase calories. LOL

    Stalling...uggh!

I don't snack. I eat 3 measured meals a day, with an occasional 4th if I'm pulling a super long day. My caloric intake ranges from 500-600 a day. And, the only 'sweet' that I have is an occasional No-sugar added instant breakfast in skim milk. I don't even eat yogurt because they're too sweet to me anymore. My foods are pretty simple: boiled egg, baked plain chicken, and tuna fish are a majority of what I eat. I have a protein powder I mix & sprinkle throughout the day. Other than the instant breakfast my fluids are straight water only.
  4. Sleeved Aug 12, 2015 Starting weight 348 Pre-Surgery weight 326 Current weight 283 I had wished that I'd have lost more by now, but am being positive. I've lost a lot of weight since I started this venture. I'm healthier. I feel better. I'm just in a bit of a slump and a stall isn't helping. I am not sure if it is time to change anything or if it is due to the fact that I started adding strength training to my routine two weeks ago (thinking might be building muscle). I hit my Protein , don't miss my vitamins/supplements, and Fluid intake is good. I only eat 3 times a day with an occasional 4th meal, but only hold about 2.5 ounces. I work a hectic, on the move job and make sure that I walk a mile and a half every day after work, no matter what. And, like I said, I started strength training two weeks ago (3 times a week...short sessions to start). I guess I'm just venting and needing some positive vibes. Hope everyone is doing well! Nicole

    Question from a pre-op

Slip on shoes! These were a big help for me during recovery.

  7. I was sleeved in Aug 12. I lost 20 pounds in 3 1/2 weeks and then the scales stopped. Then I only lost another pound, but this last weekend I lost 3 pounds in two days. Did I just get over my stall or is this common? I never expected to be able to set a watch to the weight loss, but wasn't expecting it to be in chunks. Thoughts? TIA!

    Slow losers Club

Thank God I'm not alone! I lost 25 pre-surgery (over 4 months of diet changes) & 25 since. . .stalled for almost 2 weeks. I was sleeved 8/12 and starting to wonder why. Will this end??
  9. My doc said that tenderness is completely normal & should go away in another few weeks (sleeved Aug 12).
  10. I had my surgery Aug 12. I started my journey in Feb. I lost 20 pounds prior to surgery & 20 more since (started at 345 and currently at 305). I feel like weight loss has been slow compared to others, but I'm certainly losing inches. I had to buy new clothes for work & those are already baggy. I hope to be closer to 250 by the New Year & my doctor believes it is very doable for me.

    Sleep study/cpap/surgery ?

My doc explained that he didn't like the chances of air being ingested and ballooning the new stomach pouch. And, that after surgery a large number of patients don't need a CPAP.

    Omeprazole?

My doctor gave me Prilosec. Stomach acid can cause problems during and after surgery. If your doc gave it to you I suggest taking it or at least discussing your concerns with him.
