@@jacks89 do you use the powder or premade isopure? I'm interested in another protein product because I'm slowly getting tired of the whey/milky protein taste from my current whey isolate.

Good job on your progress. What is on your Stage 2 diet?
-
Jacks, ???? (lol), I'm feeling some progress today. The gas movement is my next tackle, as I was able to meet my Fluid and Protein targets yesterday, yippee! As many have suggested, walking helps tremendously, but I really want to sleep and relax as much as possible while home, so my stomach can excellerate the re-mending. How are you doing?

Congratz. My surgery was last Thursday and I am also ready for Phase 2! And yes, the pain is NO FUN!
-
Hi all. I'm post op as of Thursday morning, woo-hoo. NO ONE SAID IT WOULD BE THIS PAINFUL! I know pain varies per person, but geez, my first 48 hrs were awful! I'm much better now, mostly thanks to my Dr and nurses at MedStar Washington. They were soooo patient and gave such great tips.

Meeeee! Just kidding. I'm having the surgery to remain healthy, but was wondering if it will help with my most undesirable PCOS symptoms, insulin resistance and facial hair. Hope someone knowledgeable "chimes in"!

Pre-Surgery Diet - What's yours

Thanks for sharing! I'm putting this on my list for when protein shakes get "boring", probably post-op. -
Having second thoughts
Misha_Lynne replied to jessis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Jessis. None of my family agrees with my decision to have bariatric surgery for the same reason..."I think you can do it on your own". Now of I could emphasis the "I" in that statement I would, because they are basing this on their experiences, where as they have not lived through MY emotional frustration with trying many weight loss options, which include all you've listed. YES, this is a big decision, but YOU have to evaluate for yourself if YOU think YOU can loose and maintain a healthy weight without the surgery. Your concerns list matches mine, but I've consciously made the decision to either confront the emotional concerns and accept the food related concerns. My health is what matters and all things in between I will work through. Hope this helps and good luck :-) -

Pre-Surgery Diet - What's yours

Went grocery shopping for the 2 week pre-op diet and here's a pic of all, except 1% milk, 0 fat Greek yogurt, and premade protein shakes in fridge. This is unsweetened applesauce, sugar free pudding, sugar free gelatin, cream of wheat, grits, steel cut oatmeal, sugar free water flavors and unflavored/unsweetened, plain stevia sweetened, and chocolate protein powders. (Yes, I am a bit OCD, but aren't we all a bit!) -
End of September sleevers...

I'm scheduled for Sept 17th. Yippee! -
My surgery is at MedStar Washington. My PCP recommended their Bariatric program which has taught me a LOT through their group workshops.

Tick Tock Tick Tock - 2 weeks to go!

Good for both of you. I'm a little nervous about Labor Day too, which will be mid Pre-op diet. My friends are doing brunch and I'm debating on if I'll attend, with protein shake in hand...choices, choices... -
It took 7 days for me. My Dr. office originally stated they didn't receive a yes/no approval from UHC, so I called. I was approved and also had a chance to get full details of my coverage (i.e. hospital room type, coverage limitations, hospital copay).

Hi. I'm in Bethesda. My pre-op starts next week.
