Ok... So... Some people get these cravings before their first fill, second fill, or third fille, etc. I got this before mu third fill. I got used to the band and the limited restriction to the point where I was gaining weight slightly but more importantly.. Eating like there's no tomorrow. Once I got my third fill last week it all changed. I dropped 10 pounds so fast.. I don't crave anything and I can eat very limited before getting full. Like you, I never exercised through this process. I started at 116 kgs and I'm at 95 kgs now since my banding on 10th Sept. And also I'm self paying so that in itself is encourgaemnt. So long story short... Hang in there.. But do remember the long term goal when you start eating or cheating and then tell yourself.. What's the point?

Butterfly. Huge congrats. I was back at work after 2 days but its really up to you to see how you feel. Doctors will advise a few days. The pain goes away after a good 2 weeks. I'm almost 50 days banded and don't feel a thing. It's all worth it. Also keep taking your pain meds in the initial stages.

Butterfly40 You can take any medicine post surgery.. remember you won't get properly tightened until the first fill...

Hi Starosen. I've just got my fill done last night. The needle is so thin you barely feel anything. I haven't had a solid meal yet so can't quite tell you but will try some egg whites and / or fish tonight. Will update you

Swanie. Great. First fill went well. They pricked me during the xray and done now. Just wondering how I'm going to feel tonight during dinner And well done to you too

How are you all doing. Have lost 11kgs over 23 pounds in exactly 30 days and I'm waiting at the docs for my first fill... He pricked me twice and couldn't find the port so waiting for an X-ray.... Strange

I had the exact same pain for 10 days post op. Used painkillers and eventually it goes away. The pain comes from the gas that they inflate in you during the surgery apparently it affects your nerves which in turn makes your left shoulder pain like a @#$$%&But now I'm healed

Was just wondering if we are allowed to have substitute sugar Or should we not touch it since the point is to get away from sweet

Are you having any equal/splenda/stevia ?

Guys... How much fluid are you taking in daily... I'm trying to control myself to 3 rounds and then water in between... But its getting hard... I'm getting hungrier...

Starosen. The gas will automatically go after a few days. You may have a slight left shoulder pain but my recommendation is to take the painkillers as the Dr prescribed for at least 4 to 5 days even if you think the pain subsides.

I will explain. I was in the same situation as you.. nervous but excited. I did a protein diet for about 7 days and skim milk, etc etc. You do not feel anything during the surgery as you are completely knocked out. Once you wake up you will be in the recovery room with slight nausea. Eventually the surgery effect kicks out and they will give you morphine once or twice. After an another hour you will be back in your room and see your family . You will be off and on sleeping for a few hours. The left shoulder pain started for me the next day due to the carbon gas they pump in you to seperate your organs (making it easier to perform the surgery). Its some effect due to nerve pressure from the gas. Make sure you take pain killers 4 times a day for 4 days (as your dr may say) and keep consistent. After 4-5 days it will go away. With the meds the pain subsides. Thats IF you even get shoulder pain... other than that wish you the best of luck and you will be fine. I am on day 6 and I have lost 5 kgs - 11 pounds - probably due to the fact that I am on a liquid diet post op.. but 11 pounds IS 11 pounds.

Better. Stomach abdomen pain is better but the left shoulder is killer. They said its normal due to the co2 that they will your stomach with during surgery.

So its 4am here in Dubai. Doctor released me to go home after 6 hours post op. Had a decent night. I'm having soreness but am really worried about band slippage. There's no major pain just abdomen tension. Is this normal ? When do I need to rush and get it checked out?

Just had my operation. Am recovering. Stomach pain a little. They are discharging me tonight.

Guys going in tomorrow at 1pm Dubai time. Felt really bad... Family had a night at a Chinese restaurant and ate my last meal properly. My fasting time before surgery starts in 30 mins. Just hope that I will be able to control my intake after the procedure... Or is that what the band is for . Luckily I don't have a sweet tooth

Thanks for sharing. How did you gain weight after? Did you feel anything during the surgery? How long were you in the hospital?

The hospital called me in to meet the anesthesiologist. Was a bit nervous when she was going through everything. Almost thought twice about this whole thing. Nervous but confident.

I have a question. I'm worried about the effectiveness later. I simply Love food. I don't like sweets and chocolates which is a plus I know but my portions are huge now. Will this be automatically controlled later? What is the feeling you get when you eat post op?

That means you have a damn good surgeon. Patience. Mine is on Sept 10. Some people trying to convince me otherwise. But I'm pushing through.

Hi Guys. I'm new to the forum and loved reading your comments and success stories. I'm scheduled for the lap band on Sept 10. When should I start the Pre Op? Is it weird that my Dr said there's no need for any Pre Op dieting? The Dr is famous in town. I only found out about it here. Please help_________________.

I have not started the pre op diet. my surgery is on sept 10, am starting on Sept 2... doctor said I don't need to do one.. however I am still doing it for 8 days or so. What about you guys?
