  1. The whole first week post op when I was on the clear liquid diet taking in almost no protein or calories I started to get very weak about the 3rd day in. Only if I were walking around for long periods of time and not taking breaks to hydrate and relax. Feeling weak is normal. Our bodies can survive over 21 days without food so you'll be fine, just make sure you stay hydrated and take it easy
  2. After a few grueling months of doctors appointments and waiting games with the insurance company, I finally have been approved to have the gastric sleeve surgery!! My process began in August when I really had a moment that opened my eyes to how overweight I really was. I was going on vacation with my friends and for the first time was unable to buckle my seatbelt on the airplane. Embarrassingly I had to ask the flight attendant for an extender. as soon as I got home I sat and talked with my doctor about how I've tried gyms and Jenny Craig and weight watchers, and these things just don't seem to be working for me. My weight is something I've struggled with my entire life, so this surgery was brought to my attention. I attended a seminar by Doctor Adam Goldstein, and next thing i knew I was having my consultation with him and receiving my check list. My insurance is Horizon NJ Health, and they took about a month or so (I think mostly because of the holidays and being closed a lot) to get back to me, but I was approved with no issues. I am SO thrilled for this new exciting chapter that is about to begin for me. My pre-OP appointment is on Monday (Jan 11th) and my surgery will most likely be 3 weeks from there. I will get a date on Monday though. Sorry this was so long but i just wanted to share my journey with you all!! This is a current picture of me and my sister, the skinny little batman! Haha

    Experience with Horizon NJ Health?

I have horizon NJ health. All of my things were submitted into insurance one week ago and I'm waiting to hear back if I've been approved or not. My surgeon said that horizon nj health has been giving them a lot of issues and denying people left and right for silly reasons so I'm very worried that I've been going through almost 7 months of doctors appointments and procedures gearing up for this, only to be denied
