Looking for those who had sleeve in August 2015
del112 replied to Sherri1964's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
DNash , what was your starting weight?? I would say you have done very well! I do hope you start feeling better soon. I try to keep myself away from depression by keeping positive and hopeful thoughts at the center of my mind and I also believe in God and his love for me which keeps me going. I try to pray, leaving all my worries at His feet and get up feeling hopeful that whatever happens I am not alone. My thoughts and prayers are with you. -
Wow. Nice!

11 months out and i hit goal!

Nice! -
I think we all need to be a bit patient, I think it will happen with time. Havn't lost a pound since week two and today I am at week four. I tell myself that if others have walked this road before and they say it's so then I should believe it's so and that I'll move shortly. To the lady who is almost 60. I salute you and your efforts. Give it time I am sure it will happen for you, as it did for your husband .

Sleeve Size and Other Questions for PreOp Appointment
del112 replied to ellie123's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too asked my dr. For a larger sleeve because in my line of work I am required to eat at meetings and negotiations whether or not I really want to. With that said, I often wonder if he really did do what he said he would because I am three weeks out and can only do a half cup of porridge or soup or water or juice at any one time. If this is bigger, then what's small or regular???? Think I made the right decision to ask for larger. -
Sounds positive and sensible to me!! I am not one for making goals but think people like you are my heroes. I say a job well done !! I'll perhaps use a few days to consider your question and see whether there is something I would like to make a long term goal. I'll share once I conclude. All the best

Hey guys. Cheer up! Have you heard of the three week stall?? Don't know much about it but have been reading that from time to time you will stall and that's it's a normal part of weight loss. Hang in there and do some reading, you will see you are not alone in any and all of your experiences I thank God for this forum, there is something here to address any question you could ever ask. Hang in there man. I too am 4 weeks out and having some challenges, in that, I have stalled at 18lbs but I remain hopeful . My father like to say " keep hope alive , my daughter. Keep hope alive." I say to you today my friends, Keep hope alive. It will be just fine !

Just sleeved and vacation!
del112 replied to lsubabe33's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hats off to you! Be sure to take your nausea meds along! And every other medication you may need. -
Boy I am in sympathy with all who feel hunger pains while I really do have a hint of jealousy because to think that during my first days I felt nothing else besides sick and tired. I force fed myself my protein shakes and often felt ill after. I am three days shy of four weeks and still prefer my food in liquid form; porridge, shakes, soups, juices ( diluted ) pieces of frozen pineapple which I suck on like ice- cubes. Oh and I do do coconut water. The process has been challenging and some days I ask myself why but it's a welcome change from eating the wrong things and feeling badly about it. I al also on a stall but I am riding the tides and hope it moves soon.

Mood taking a dive
del112 replied to Shainadelphia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I too have found myself a bit moody and now even more than my usual self during my period. Don't know the science behind it but I am just keeping hope alive that this too shall pass. -
Checking-in for a flight this minute. Not going back to work but actually to assist my sister with a business idea she is launching. Told you I have difficulties sitting still. Not feeling so great today because of nausea and PMS. Worst combination ever. Keep me in prayers.

2nd leak developed 1 year post-op
del112 replied to liirogue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A leak a year out?? So sorry to hear. A second and third opinion sound fitting. Will be praying for his fast and permanent recovery. -
What are all these smells that are suddenly hitting me?? Mercy !! These would be cologne and perfumes I am subjected to inhale while I check- in for my flight. Heaven help me when I get into the plane!!! Not excited right now at all
-
And also everyone's diet is so different!! My three weeks is soft foods and someone else's is steak! Follow your plan and your dr.s guide to determine what's good for you!
-
Everyone is sleeved differently. Did the Burger make you feel uncomfortable? Ok. So if it didn't you didn't over eat. My dr. Has advised against measuring and rather training myself to detect when I have had enough and stop. This I think is better than weighing unless you intend to walk with your scale every where you go. I don't. Maybe you are a bit sensitive, maybe he was harsh but chins up my dear, tomorrow is a better day. Look at my colleague she lost 30lbs already and we were sleeves around the same time and our start weights were similar, she eats not than I do because she was sleeved again a bit bigger because of past surgeries and complications. I am just down 18lbs. So listen man, there is no one size that fits all as you can clearly see here. Go easy on yourself and your husband.

.......and I think I much prefer to not eat than to be full! Three weeks post opt and soft foods make me sick!
