So, I just received the call regarding my 6 week labs. All levels are great, so it seems like the multivitamin transdermal patch works as well as they claim!

kimlmt started following Multi chewable vitamin, Settle a bet...3 week stall and what are you eating?
-
Stalls suck. I started my first stall at the end of last week, which coincided with my monthly cycle and the scale hasn't budged in a week. I know that this is part of the process and I appreciate the scientific background as to why, but it's still bites the big one.

4 weeks out, pain in lower abdomen

The stitch popped today! It was the worst and the best feeling all wrapped up into one! For over 3 weeks I haven't been able to bend, sleep on my side, laugh.....it was actually the only bad part of my recovery. I was walking when it popped. ...like a rubber band kind of snapping, popping feeling. It hurt....took my breath away for just a bit, but then, almost magically all the pain was completely GONE! I can bend again! I can laugh without holding my side. I can shave those scraggly hairs right above my ankle! It's glorious! Just had to share! -

Any August 31st Sleevers?
kimlmt replied to dorothy510's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I do reach my protein goal, but I do have to do that with shake supplementation. When I met with my NUT last week, we kind of agreed that I'm not able to consume very much volume. Dinner time is especially difficult, so I try to have my largest volume at lunch. Can you also share some advice eating over 30 minutes? I had read where someone said to take 3 bites, wait 5 minutes, then repeat. I tried that last night and ended up miserable and walked it off. I chew the best I can, but braces make that part a challenge. By no means am I whining, I love my tool! I have never had the "buyer's remorse " feeling at all. I'm thrilled for this journey and to see what it brings. It's just a new tool that I have to learn the in's and out's of. -

any words of wisdom on how to increase calories? I'm around 475 a day and at my 2 week post op appt they said that I should try to be around 800 by my 6 week appt. Try as I might, I cannot seem to increase. Please share your secret! -

I'm glad to hear that you're doing great! Sorry to hear about the stall, but apparently it's just part of the process for us. I think that I'm just starting my first stall....it's kind of a bummer even though it's normal. Also, my cycle is a mess which has never been the case except for when I was pregnant. Again, just one of those things. All in all, I'm great! How is your nutrition going? -

Happy fall ya"ll! How's everyone doing so far? -
vitamins are tough for me too. I just purchased the multivitamin transdermal patches that were delivered this morning! Yay! One thing to not have to take orally!
-
You could do shredded cheddar cheese and green onions also....
-
1 head of cauliflower, cut into florets Cook the cauliflower in salted water until soft.....20-30 minutes Drain off water, put cauliflower into food processor (sometimes I put half in, then pulse, then add in the rest) Salt and pepper to taste 2 Tbsp butter 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese Blend in food processor until very smooth Adjust seasoning to your taste

A food processor will make the puree super smooth also...it's my best friend for cauliflower puree.
-
Pureed cauliflower is amazing! I have been using it as a replacement for mashed potatoes for over a year....long before my surgery. It is not a starchy veg, so virtually no carbs. You can add plain greek yogurt and parmesan cheese to add protein to it, plus it will kind of taste like loaded mashed potatoes. Yummy!

Chewable multivitamins stink! So, I thought I was clever when I purchased a bottle of liquid multivitamin. ...holy moly! I was waaaaaay wrong! I didn't get sick, but I wanted to. The blood rushed to my face and my neck and face got itchy! I honestly don't want to continue putting things in my mouth that aren't a necessary. ...that's kind of, sort of why I had my surgery in the first place! I ordered the multivitamin transdermal patches last night and look forward to getting them on Monday. One thing that I don't have to worry about taking that I KNOW is going to make me feel blah!
