Advice wanted...Please help me prepare! Band to Sleeve on Nov. 20th.
loulourt replied to Fatty McFatster's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Iam..hope you are doing well after surgery!!! My biggest bit of advice right now is, walk. I was walking a lot when I got home. Getting the liquids was hard but give it a good try. I take flintstone complete kids chewables and a genetic calcium chew. After about 6 wks I have added in b12 sublingual drops. The food is better. I try to eat Soup whenever possible and purée whatever I fix for dinner for the family. I am so ready for soft foods and real food!!!!! I went back to work after 3 weeks. I work in a hospital and the demand is high. I am so glad I had the surgery!!!!! I'm 25 lbs down and feel great!!!! I haven't had any reflux since surgery and I am so happy!!! Good luck on your journey and keep me posted!!! Loulou -

Thank u!!! Good luck to you too!!! The band is terrible!!! Wish I would've done sleeve first but at the time it was the safest procedure to get pregnant with. -

These are great questions for those of us who are getting the procedure done. Thanks for asking!!! -
I know how u feel. I'm worried too! I had band in 2010 and then 2 kids 2 yrs apart. My reflux is terrible. I'm not sure if when I pushed during delivery that something slipped but I am in the process of having revision. I know that even though I LOVE food I will b able to control myself and eat in moderation as I'm supposed to and I will be exercising more and will enjoy my new lease on life!!!!!!

When is your surgery?

I have band and my reflux is terrible. It's mostly because the band has slipped. I'm nervous that when I have revision to sleeve that I will continue to have it. My surgeon assured me that since I didn't have it prior to the band that I should be ok. I'm still nervous though!!!

I'm a newbie to this site. I've posted 1 other comment. I have just started my journey to getting the band removed and the sleeve done. I'm super nervous and excited. I'm hoping to have the surgery the first or second week of dec depending on the insurance. I have band for 5 years. I lost about 80 lbs and got pregnant twice and regained and now I sit only 25 lbs loss. I have terrible reflux and after an EGD dr found band had slipped. That's my big reason for ins approval since they only cover 1 WLS. I'm so grateful to have found a site like this. Thank you all who have shared their experiences!!!!! Yall have made this roller coaster ride a whole lot easier!!!

I have only told a few people. My husband, parents, sister, and a few friends. I am normally an open book and will talk about anything but this is my own private issue. I have fought the weight loss battle for so long and don't feel i need to tell anyone else that is not in my circle. I also have family that is very judgemental, and has critized others for having the surgery. I'm nervous enough about going through revision surgery, lap band to sleeve, that I really don't want other peoples opinions on what I have choosen to do to ensure I live a healthier life.
