Good for you Missy. Go for it! -
Thanks for your feedback. I now have friends and relatives lining up to come help me. Best friend is going to stay with me the first night home so no time way from my bed! And my dog. I really need him close by during my recovery.

At just two weeks out, that is different. I would probably check in with my doc. I can't imagine what it could be. People have so many different physical responses to the surgery in the beginning. But I would check in with the urge on to put my mind at ease.

Beach gal you are such an inspiration to me! Thank you! -
thanks for the tip on bariatistic. I started using Fitness Pal and keep getting frustrated with it.

Queenie's - I'm 63 and go for it. Your age will keep going up, but your weight will only go down! Ready for my new chance at life!

I've read in several places in my research that Biotin is the thing. It is one of the B vitamins so I'm thinking should do no harm. Maybe check with your doc that it is ok to take.

I'm in Austin. I'll try Walmart. Fair Milk sounds like good stuff. -
First hang up - sleep study

I had no idea they did at home studies so much. That sounds a whole lot better than going to a clinic! -
I'll be in the hospital for at least two nights so maybe I could convince her to stay here for one night. I really do not like her idea of taking me from the hospital to her one bedroom apartment for a week. I know she is trying to help but I think, well it just won't work.

Where do you find Fair Life milk? -
Wow you have done a great job! Sorry about the acid reflux and hope you get the approval fast!
-
That would be nice if she wanted to stay the first night or two. She wants me at her place. I think I will hire a caregiver instead.

Ange - I guess I'm not sure what your question is here. Is there a reason you only want the at home sleep study. I don't think I've ever heard of one being approved by insurance. -

Diarrhea on preop clear liquid diet
Dar200 replied to dannieeliza's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Suppository? Enema? (Sorry, rather personal but I have chronic constipation so I know of these things) -
Oh wow! Yeah, I would call the doc right away. Too many possibilities for problems there and he may have something to try to make sure it gets out of your pouch quickly. Good luck.

I get horrible pain from fillings. Try a cold compress against that part of your face. It's all inflamed so it hurts like hell. Cool or cold compress works for me.

I would tend to think of it as an emergency if you are considering taking NSAIDs against medical advice.

For those of you craving Reese's peanut butter cups. Someone mentioned on a thread that they make protein drinks with chocolate protein powder and a spoon of peanut butter blended in. Then, someone said you can get peanut butter powder. Most of the fat has been removed. You can put some of that in with chocolate protein powder and have a splendid drink. I found it at my local supermarket. They even had several brands to try. It even has Iike 4 or 5 grams of protein. And they have one that is peanut butter and chocolate. You can also mix with water and make a sort of paste with it if you think whole drink sounds yucky. Figured it's worth a try.

Denied but I won't give up
Dar200 replied to GBLady41's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Insurance companies are hard to deal wiTh - like they are looking for a reason to deny. Keep after them, with your doctor's help or another advocate working on it, you will get there! -
Things I hate about being skinny
Dar200 replied to micmt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm looking forward to feeling cold. I'm hot (and sweating) ALL the time. I've seen several doctors about it because it is so extreme. I'm in Austin, mostly it is hot here. I can't wait for winter. It's the only time I'm comfortable! Soon I will be comfortable all the time? A jacket is easy. Yay!
