That looks very cool. I'll have to check it out.

You guys hang in there. Keep calling, asking questions. It is so frustrating and it shouldn't be, but it just is. Stay after it! You will get there! You are better than their incompetence! -

I would be pounding my head on the table. I don't think they do it on purpose. They are just not applying good business ethics or paying attention to the details of their jobs. Jerks. Sorry, I just had to say it. -
Told I have approval this morning. No surgery date yet. I have an appointment with the surgeon on Thursday and surgery will be scheduled shortly after. Yay!

. Thank you all for brightening up my evening. A good laugh heals the soul. I will spare you my own horror stories. They are from many years ago and maybe some other time we can laugh over those.

What is everyones favorite Protein Drink?
Dar200 replied to JellyBellyNoMore's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't get over how much I like Premier Protein in the chocolate flavor. I have also tried several of the Bariatric Fusion powders that I just mixed with water. I am ordering a supply of their chocolate chip mint ice cream flavor and the Orange cream flavor. I purchased a sampler selection from them and really liked these two. The only one that was just awful - their Strawberry shortcake flavor. Just awful I mean awful grit and aftertaste for me. Hope this helps. -
More carbs for intense exercise

Ditto what 2ndSoujourner says. That "trainer" doesn't sound to me like she knows what she is doing. -
Wow! You did great! Luckily my dog has never jumped on me. I can't believe you drove yourself home so quickly! It's so good to hear that you had such a good experience. I live in an apartment. I have great neighbors. The one directly across from me is my age and wants to look after me. And a younger lady upstairs wants to come walk my dog. I think I'm going to do all right! Best friend will stay over night as many nights as she needs to.

I will be having RNY soon, probably in November. I live alone with my valiant dog, Roger the Sheltie. My question, do you think I will need to have someone staying overnight with me after I get home from the hospital? If so, for how many nights? I'm very independent and hadn't even considered it because I've had some serious surgeries (hysterectomy, kidney surgery) without anyone staying with me. Today my sister is insisting that I come stay with her for a week? I know I will want my own bed and quiet. So I'm asking for your experiences along these lines. I have two neighbors who can be here in minutes, I have a safe alert necklace in case I need help but can't get to a phone and I will have all fluids, meds, etc set up before I go to the hospital. Any feedback? Btw, my sister had surgery recently for the first time in her life and I think she really really was scared to be by herself, which is fine, that's just not me. Thanks!

October List of Surgery's
Dar200 replied to 60&goin4it's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm afraid I will be more than snappy! A raving maniac will better describe me. I'm looking forward to it though which sounds crazy, but I want to get to the other side! Hang in there. Maybe try some canned broth from the store and mix a little of the protein powder in. It's clear liquid so it should be ok. If you think nothin don't. Miso sorry I can't be more helpful. -
I finally have my surgery date! (Nov 5th!)...so why am I so ...
Dar200 replied to ImBringingLisaBack RNY's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Oh rats. After everything to get ready and then hear you don't actually have approval, I would be ill too. It will work out. This is just such a hard journey. I hope you have good news next week. -

@littlebunnyfoofoo. Your surgeon says coffee this early is ok? I was told no caffeine but even if you are drinking decaf, coffee is a strong irritant to the stomach. -

I don't really know how far he is scheduled out. When I asked the caseworker, she said I should get a date in November. -
You cracked me up! I will have to do the 2week diet soon enough and it does not sound like fun. I. Think I would have grabbed the popcorn bags and thrown it everywhere. I will not be able to go to the movies during that 2 weeks. I have impulse control issues that I think will probably get me in trouble if I leave my house much. Good luck for the rest of your two weeks and with your surgery!

Good idea to stay and get the medical care if you can. Be well. -
No sublingual B-12?

Good luck Jenjen. I have the same list of problems but my BMI is about 50! I just found out that I'm approved! Don't have surgery date yet, but will probably be in November.

December 2015 surgery dates?
Dar200 replied to kversteeg's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So far, I don't have a date, but I should get one for November or December. I'll track you down if scheduled for December. Thanks! -
Hi Robin. I'm in Texas here and have Medicare as well. My research on Medicare told me that it varies from state to state and even county to county here in Texas. I'm not approved yet but I'm not having to go the six month route because my BMI is so high, which means I'm really really heavy. Hope it all gets approved this way cause I'm getting close to sending everything in for approval. I'll let you know how it goes and I hope we both get our surgeries soon!

Wow! I'm so impressed with you! I was just sitting here feeling very sorry for myself because it hurts to just walk my dog, something I have always loved doing. Now I believe! It can really happen! You look absolutely fabulous but that gorgeous smile on your face says it all! Shine on you crazy diamond! -
Cervidae - thanks so much for putting this list together. What a help!
