I've been hanging out in here with you guys even though I didn't have a surgery date. Got it yesterday and now I am officially an October surgery. I'm scheduled Monday, October 26th! I'm excited and overwhelmed at the same time. -

I sent an email to Ron's wife a few days after she posted here. Just sent well wishes, thoughts, prayers. I have not received an email back from her. I sure hope everything is ok. -

Progress documentation suggestions

I love the marble idea! I still need to measure. I'm going to use the weight from my first appointment with surgeon because I've fought off every ounce that I've lost pre-surgery. -

Got my surgery date - October 26. I wasn't expecting it so soon, but I'm ready! I'm doing a one week pre-op diet and then I'm good to go. I'm excited but overwhelmed. Just moved not too long ago so I gotta get everything around me in order before surgery! -
That is just incredible! Good work.

Ultrasound or CT would probably be better after this surgery. I can't let this one go. I'm frustrated for you!

How do they know it wasn't surgery related if they didn't take a look at anything on the inside? I have to tell you that emergency rooms are not places I like or really trust. I would go to my pcp and insist on an X-ray, CT scan, something. And if you have to go to ER again, raise hell until they look at your insides. Believe it or not, I went twice with raging infections. They admitted me, gave me IV antibiotics and sent me home. The second time, I refused to leave and insisted on getting a different doctor. He said two admissions in a month was way too many he was going to scan my belly.. Two hours after, he came in and said my left kidney was completely blocked up with two huge stones and he had already called around to find a urologist to come treat me the next day. Before I left and for about six months after, I called that hospital and told every administrator, head honcho I could reach what had happened. I now have two extremely healthy kidneys thanks to the doctor who had enough sense to take a picture of my belly. An X-ray would have shown the stones. X-rays tell them a lot.

Your bypass surgeon wasn't suspicion that it could be something?

Any tips on sticking to diet?

you are so right. Thank you for that reminder. The psychologist who did my psych eval was so cool. I think he would be a great therapist for me. -
omg it hasn't been sent! ????

I am so very sorry for your loss. I can't even imagine what it feels like to lose a brother. I'm very glad you are at peace with it. Hey, we may even end up with similar November dates. -
Did you notice the list of ingredients?

I also have a prescription for a cream. It is compounded by the pharmacy each time I refill. It is great for arthritis in my knee and for fibro.

I'm thrilled to hear Lyrica comes in liquid! It helps my fibro like nothing else. Yay!!!

I think I need to check out the Fitbit. I've been approved, don't have surgery date yet and I'm going nuts to eat stuff that is bad for men. Even after I lost 12 pounds. I see a yo-yo pattern here! If I can concentrate on the Fitbit and make sure I get enough of the good stuff, protein, water, exercise, maybe I won't have time to think about what I shouldn't eat. This is hard. We all know that, just felt like I needed to say it. -
All of a sudden...everyone is *#%* expert!

She really got what I was saying. Meanwhile, my sister-in-law researched weight loss surgery and educated my sister. My sister is now really being supportive. Sometimes I don't think people have any idea what they sound like. I thought what I said was a gentle reminder. I crack myself up too -
Good luck cdj!

This is where your surgeon will tell them why you need it and then you will be approved. Hang in there! I'm praying for you and the addle-headed insurance folk. Hm, I guess that wasn't very kind of me. -

Oh grrrrrrrrr to them all. My sister who is 5'7" and weighs about 130 started in on me once. She just had a face lift. I wondered out loud why she hadn't done that on her own. -
This is probably not the appropriate place to ask but SunIn Utah, is that your cat? Makes me laugh every time I see the photo. I always have had Siamese.

Smoking weed pre op
Dar200 replied to deesleevednowbypassed's topic in Gastric Bypass Surgery Forums
Dub. You so cracked me up. If it were me, I would wait the year to let that little pocket heal. Also, my surgeon said there were three ways to screw up this surgery: (1) smoking, (2) smoking, and (3) smoking. I believe he was talking about tobacco. I think the other ways of consuming mj besides smoking would bypass the surgeon's problems with this. -
I've had several surgeries before WLS. For me, it just took a month or two for my body to throw off the effects of anesthesia. I was told the longer you are under during surgery, the longer it takes for your body to recover. And of course individuals have varying recovery times. Hang in there! You will bounce back!
