Can You Eat Salad, Vegetables And Fruits With The Gastric Sleeve?
Jesusislove posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Hi, I am a newbie on the boards, and I had lapband surgery in 4/08, and I am having issues with the band. I lost about 70 pounds on the band, but the choking at night and acid reflux has caused me to want to take it out. I can not lose weight right because either it is too tight or too lose. I am tired fo this, I need rest. I will have the band removed, but was thinking of getting the gastric sleeve done while they are in there. On the band I could bearly eat salad, hardly any real veggies, and no fruit. Also, I could bearly eat eggs on the band. Can you eat "real healthy" foods with the gastric sleeves, like broccoli, cabbage, real food? I love healthy foods, just could not eat many of them on the band. A 1/4 of a cup is fine for me, I just want to eat some squash, and okra. -

What type of work out do you do at home? Started working.
Jesusislove posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Its been a while since I posted, because I started working in August. I work with children, so my job is active. However, I noticed a little weight gain since I started working. No, I have not been to the gym that much. I am in school/college, and my time is pretty much consumed. I can do an at home work out, any suggestions on ones that really show results? I have always worked out when I was a stay at home mom, but working is throwing me a bit. -

Thanks for all the replies, appreciate it. I am late getting back due to work/school/family. I have a lot of older work out tapes, and I did buy a Jillian Michaels one, I will try that one. I have dumbells, bands, just wanted a video other than my old ones. I want to see results. -

Is The Pain Worse Than Labor?
Jesusislove replied to Pparrisss's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
To me nothing like labor pains, I would take a gastric sleeve op anyday. It did not hurt as much as I thought it would, and I am a big cry baby. -

Some Incision Pain - Almost 6 Months Out.
Jesusislove posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi, everyone. I had my surgery in February, I am almost 6 months out. However, I have been having some slight incision pain at the top incision, it has closed up well. There is nothing oozing from it or anything, but I just started having pain there. It feels like the lap band nagging little pain, where the port was. I had no pain until now. It does not hurt all the time but sometimes. Has anyone experienced this so far out? I will go see my doc Monday. -

Jesusislove posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I had an appointment with my doctor today. 10 weeks post op, started at 230, today I was 188. I am continuing to eat good. It is hard firguring out what to eat at times, but I am steadily growing and making healthy choices. My goal is 170, I expect to be there soon. I am pretty thin at 170 (8-10) in sizes, 5'9" Looking forward to staying healthy. -
Reflux/heart Burn
Jesusislove replied to Sergeant_Hotsauce's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I am taking Nexium, it works best for me. Dr. prescribed, nothing else over the counter worked for me. -
Hi, every doctor is different. I was told once I got home to start on full liquids. I only had regular liquids in the hospital. Stick to what your doc says. I am two months post op and I can bearly eat early in the morning, but when I can its greek yogurt or soft eggs. You will make it through the liquid phase. Blessings.

I Rarely Get On The Scale; Clothes Falling Off
Jesusislove posted a topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I rarely get on the scale, because the scale can be discouraging. However, my clothes are falling off of me, that is how I know that I am losing. I bought a pair of capri pants in a size 12, and they fit for minute. I told myself, I know that this 12 is not loose, and they sure were, on my way to a size 10. Wow, I am shrinking, and I am excited. Went walking about 2 miles today and it felt great! I don't know whether I am stalling or not, I stay off the scale until I know that I have went down a size. -
