    Nearly 4 Years On

Hi, congrats on four years! How are you doing after 4 years? How much weight did you lose? Is your stomach still small or are you able to eat a lot? Let
  2. I must be honest, I did not have this surgery to go on a diet. I have yo-yo dieted for years. I am going to eat healthier and excercise, but I will not count calories. I just so happened to count my calories yesterday after eating two chicken wings (1 1/2 really), cooked in the slower cooker, very soft and tender, a piece of flaky fish, two baby food fruits, and drunk some water on the 30 minute rule, all together barely 470 calories. I was good and full for the rest of the day. No counting calories for me, I will count protein. Protein was 31 grams,I know I have to get it up, some kind of way. I think I am lactose intolerant now, so my protein will have to come mostly from foods. Can't tolerate anything with citric acid, so water and some new found drink will have to be my friend. Will try MIO.. Nestle orange water is good too, just started that yesterday. Anybody know of low cal drinks that don't hurt? How many of you don't count calories? I feel that I will not over eat with my sleeve it tells me when I am full.
  3. Oh goodie, I have a GNC account, thanks so much for the info.

    Slowest Loser!

Be encouraged, I am new to the sleeve, but not to WLS. I had the lap band and was a slow loser, but lost 71 pounds on it. I believe when the weight comes off it will come off and all of you will be slim and trim. I have read some of the veteran sleever's posts and they say focus on the inches, not the scale.

    New To This

Hi, this is normal, as others have said, it gets easier as the days go by.
  6. Where did you get the powdered?
  7. Awww, sweet pea, you are sweet. Yes slow and steady wins. You made me laugh about how you ate it all.
  8. Week 3 I am on soft foods, and moist cooked meats are on the list (fish, poultry, turkey, eggs). Refried Beans and eggs are on the list, but I can only eat a little bit, and I am full. However, I can not eat steak or beef until 4 months out. Next week are regular foods, and I will probably stick with meat and green beans. The lapband had me so scared of bread, I don't think I will ever view bread as normal anymore.
  9. I will look for the lactose free protein shakes, and your post was very encouraging. That what's I am talking about. Of course if its a party, I am not going to eat things that are not good for me.
  10. Hi, thanks so much for your response, I tried Isopure and it worked great in the beginning, but now when I drink it, it burns like fire. It has some citric acid in it I believe.
  11. Hi, thanks for your response, where do you buy the bariwise?
  12. I can not see any other post beyond #9, there are graphics hindering my viewing. Anyone know whom to contact concering this? Also, I wanted to clarify, no where in my original post did i say I want to eat cake, Cookies and ice cream. I can not view this as a diet for me, that is how I will succeed. When I count calories I am thinking diet, because I did it for so many years. I had great successes and failures dieting. For me this is my best view, the lifestyle change happened with the lap band, so sugary carbs are not on the menu, I am a veggie eater ( will watch carbs with veggies). I had complications on the lap band, but I lost 71 pounds, and the docs said that, that was the average weight loss with the band. I got the gastric sleeve, because they had to keep taking out Fluid for me to be able to live normally (not sick all the time). Also, I could not eat breaded things successfully with the lap band, so carbs were not big on the band. I am ready for the sleeve, just not counting calories everyday. I will count protein and carbs.
  13. Hi,thank you for your input. I revised from the lapband, and understand that this is a lifestyle change. I have no problem with carbs, never been a big carb eater. More of a drinker, so I will look for low cal drinks. I will count calories if I have to up them, but they are so little now, maybe further out I will become a calorie nazi.
  14. HI, thank you for reponse, where do you buy the apple and pear Sobe from? Sounds good, does Walmart have it?

    No Complications

Amen, he brought you to it and through it.
  16. I love vitamin water, but I am having problems with fake sugar too. I would have to drink the real thing. I love the dragon fruit flavor, but will the citric acid bother me? I don't know, but will try it.

Week 14- Day 1 Of 90... Let The Training Begin!

You look great! You are two inches shorter than me and I started at 220. Thanks for the inspiration.
  18. I am 3 weeks post OP too and can eat a little more than I think I should. I ate very soft boiled chicken wings (cooked in slow cooker), and I ate two for the whole day (200 calories, about 2 oz a piece). However, I wondered if I should be able to eat that much.I was wondering about this as well. I ate a piece of baked flaky fish too, 90 calories, lots of protein though.

  21. Thanks for posting this, sounds delicious, but I am worried about the citric acid. I will try it at 6 weeks out and see how it goes.

    Stomach Pain

Are you a teenageer, new sally? Be encouraged and don't be so hard on yourself, you will get the hang of it. Eat slowly, and try softer things as Dooter has suggested. Take care.
