  1. I typically get in around 60 grams or more of protein. I drink premiere protein. I also eat eggs, Greek yogurt, etc.

    Water water water...

I feel your pain...I miss gulping down a cold glass of water! However, you still need to get it in so always carry around a water bottle and sip water throughout the day!
  3. I will be one month post op on November 21st, and I have a few people who have told me they see changes in my appearance. However, I don't see them myself and I haven't really lost that much weight since since surgery. My question for you guys is how long did it take for you to notice changes yourself?

Post Op food and diet suggestions?

I don't necessarily mind the limited options, I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing. I feel like I'm moving pretty quickly through the stages. I'm worried that since I don't appear to be making progress I might be making some wrong choices. I think I'll get in contact with my nutritionalist.
  5. Hello everyone, I'm just looking for some suggestions on foods and diet plans. I'm about 3 weeks post op and my nutritionalist has not given me many examples. Currently, I am able to eat soft and mushy foods. I still drink protein shakes daily as well. I usually add protein powder to my solid foods and use premier protein for my liquids. Do you have any better suggestions for protein drinks? Which work for you and which ones do not? I know I am only a few weeks out, but I don't feel that much progress is being made. I just started going back to my gym a few days ago, and if you have work out suggestions I'd definitely like to hear from you as well! Thank you!

Things are definitely getting better! I feel almost only completely normal. Sometimes my muscles are a little sore but that's it. I'm going back to work this week, and I honestly was ready days ago. I almost felt like I recovered too fast. Lol
  7. I'll take your advice! Lol I am a worrier so I probably should set up a schedule to weigh myself monthly.

We did do it, thank you for cheering me up! It's been a discouraging last couple of days.
  9. Stop weighing yourself daily if it makes you nuts. Hate to break it to you but weight loss is not a linear process. You will gain and stall as well as lose. However if you stick to the plan you will lose. People have different schedules for weighing themselves. I only weight myself once a month or when I have a doctor's appointment. Other weigh weekly and yes, some weigh daily. If you are the sort to get upset at any fluctuation, then you need to put the scale away. Focus on eating properly, drinking your fluids and exercising. Take your measurements. I do neck, boobs, waist and hips. Update that monthly. When the scale does not move, you will often be able to get a better idea of how your body is changing. Back to your original question, yes it is perfectly normal to gain before you lose. Especially in the first few weeks. If you are following your nutritionist eating plan, you did not move too fast. Thank you very much for the tips! I just worried that the first few weeks were supposed to be different.
  10. Since being sleeved on the 21st of October, I've been weighing myself daily. In the last 3 days I haven't lost and in fact I think I went up a pound or two. Is this normal? I'm feeling a little discouraged. I can now have mushy foods and creamy soups and I have been. Did I move too fast to the next stage of food?

I agree, everyday I start to feel a little better. I just went on a walk around my block. It took forever but it felt so good! You can send me a private message and add me on Facebook if you'd like to keep in touch about our progress. ????

I was really nervous about the surgery itself because before this I had never had surgery. I definitely understand that this is going to be a day to day challenge.
  13. Well, I went through with it...lol On Wednesday October 21st I was waiting to be brought into surgery nervous and starving because of my 2 day pre op liquid diet. Now I'm barely able to get my liquids down and sore as can be. Now that the worst part is over, I am so happy too see where I will be headed. I can't wait for my life to change. I'm also doing this along side my close Aunt who had her surgery Monday the 19th of October. Seeing that she's already up and moving around frequently gives me hope. I've been trying to walk around as much as I can throughout the day. Let the journey begin...????
