You don't "have" to but I can assure you if you eat really fast you will not feel very good in the chest area. The main thing is to continue to eat slowly, chew extremely well, put the fork down, and enjoy your food. My husband does this without thinking, but I have to keep reminding myself. I honestly feel it will help you in your lifelong journey to keep the weight off. We are 3 years post sleeve.

From Florida, Medicare approval process for sleeve
Pescador replied to tamatoot12699's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
At 46 you are on Medicare???? I think it is pretty standard, that you attend meetings prior to surgery, see a psychologist, visit a nutritionist, and do the liver shrink diet. My surgeon had all these people at his offices and on staff at the hospital. Pretty simple. -
Burping when eating
Pescador replied to LoveAlwaysKia's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Eating to fast. My husband eats very slowly but when he eats faster he burps. I never burp, so also it must be an individual thing. I try so hard to slow down my eating. Three years later, my husband still puts down his fork between bites. -
From Florida, Medicare approval process for sleeve
Pescador replied to tamatoot12699's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Florida here. At 66 Medicare approved my surgery, with three co morbidities, asthma, HBP, and diabetes. I weighed 210. The staff of our Bariatric surgeon took care of everything dealing with Medicare. We paid $500 out of pocket. We just had the sleeve, Doctor and staff did the rest. Find a Seminar and get started! Best thing we ever did for ourself, the health problems have gone mostly. -
Really Regretting it.

I am 70 and I beg you to try to relax and go with this. Try not to be negative. It has been life changing and pure joy for me and my husband, reversing serious health problems, which I know will add years to our lives. Yes we have had a few problems, bot nothing compared to what went on prior to the sleeve. Blessings your way! -
Patience patience! Please keep the Liquids going as dehydration is awful!!!! Trust us here, this will be a distant memory, but try to relax and just take care of yourselves. One day at a time.

Well spoken. Move forward. Our husbands recover from not agreeing with us. Get a lawyer to write a letter with your medical authorization attached, requesting to pick up the entire medical record within 15 days. Don't waste time.

Look for yogurts with about 8 grams of sugar. Broth is wonderful. Spoonfuls of refried beans with tiny drops of taco sauce and FF sour cream filled a craving. The semi puréed homemade chili was a staple especially on Thanksgiving day. Each tiny bite of food was so good and satisfying. Cottage cheese, puréed. Homemade vegetable soup with no carbs. Puréed chicken with vegetables and FF broth. I still enjoy simple things. Best of luck.

The doctor will not like being confronted and won't give you atraight answers. Hopefully the medical records are undoctored. If your surgeon thinks for one second you might sue him he will never see you again and will be forewarned of your intentions. I would go quietly into this til you have what you need.

Rash around incisions and thrush
Pescador replied to jkhaik_42's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
We learned our surgeon would not see us for anything he thought wasn't in the area of the incision. I think the tape has irritated your skin. Not an emergency for your surgeon obviously. See your primary for the thrush. It is terribly painful and there is an oral solution to help with that pain. Good luck. Make sure your primary is available for any problems. We were so lucky with that. Good luck! -
Go to the hospital and stand there until they make copies of every medical record, no matter the cost. Catch them off guard. Otherwise they can pick and choose what to give you. It will cost but this is your life. Digest it and move accordingly. Don't go to any small time lawyer. Best wishes.

Keep following your plan!!! The weight will begin falling off.

Please focus on success and the happy positive successes. Three years of happy sleeving and better health for me and my husband.

I was terrified for my husband, but I was more terrified that I had to call Rescue so often because he was unconscious from. Blood sugar of 40. Over 15 years of WL seminars, the sleeve has changed our lives. We now have a life. Best wishes!

Both sleeved, I kidded my precious 100 lbs. lighter 69 year old husband, that he needed ironing. So happy. I need a good facelift!
-
Cheers to never letting someone let you down!! You can easily do this. The new you will be much stronger and really hot!!

Well said!

I was 67 when sleeved 3 years ago. One thing is for sure, I had no pain, was in the grocery store the day after surgery, spent less than a day in the hospital. I walked a mall four days later. never took a pain pill once I left the hospital. Any surgery is scary but I hope you have it easy like we did.

Check out Sugarfree Torani flavorings. Hazelnut is a favorite.

Never be ashamed. High five!!!!!

Biotin is WORTHLESS. Two years I paid money for this nonsense.

I use Source of Life liquid vitamin for three years recommended by my fabulous educator, a compound pharmacist. It is on Amazon, not the average store. Our pharmacist has a great health food store. Tastes good and a bottle lasts forever.

What do you tell the waiter/server?
Pescador replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I will not deal with that card since it is no ones business. I would have a shake first, at home.
