Pescador replied to Alex Brecher's topic in Food and Nutrition
Weird, but our addiction to Diet Coke is gone, and Water is sooooo good! -
I still get up and walk after 3 years when I feel a chest tightness after eating. Works!

Ahhhhh, hugging my skinny husband, who is 69, and thin for the first time in 69 years. It makes my heart melt. -
Seriously 12 days out and not losing!
Pescador replied to blu2020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Relax, walk when you can, eat right, and weigh in two weeks. ❤️ -
Please look at Pinterest, Bariatric food recipes, and you will find a cookbook is not necessary!!!! Good luck!

I was 67 years old, 3 years ago, and walked the mall four days after the sleeve. Fear of the unknown is our worst Enemy. Best of luck!!

When did you feel "normal" again?
Pescador replied to LoveAlwaysKia's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
The happiness I felt outweighed everything. Eat little, rest, one day at a time. -
Too big to fly?
Pescador replied to charleywatson's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I paid for an extra seat not to embarrass my sweet husband. He fit perfectly at 6'2" 320 lbs. I was easily refunded the cost of th second seat. -

Relax and disregard what people THINK.

Really try to program yourself. Sliming would deter me. Eat small meals, not three meals. Wishing you positive results!!!

Bananas are NOT a low carb food
Pescador replied to OutsideMatchInside's topic in Food and Nutrition
I only skip the bananas because I once took a scrawny kid to enlist for the Army and he was underweight. He was told to eat a bunch of bananas on the weekend and come back Monday. Monday the Army enlisted him with a belly full of bananas. Now if you have leg cramps, eat a banana. -
Crazy Pre-Op Anxiety

If you read daily posts here, you will see you are one of thousands, with pre-op anxiety. Read the posts and responses, and you will learn so much as you study the responses. We all had pre-op anxiety I am sure. Just take one step at a time and relax. The success stories here, in the thousands too, will smooth your anxiety! -
The less people you tell the less drama you have in your life. Thank God my husband made me promise not to tell as he is very private. All you need to say is I am eating healthy, and move around between people and even dump the food in the trash. Since we lost weight, we share a plate, and no one even questions that we are eating healthy to maintain our weight loss. Be strong, this is about you!!

Be prepared with your meal items so you won't grab just anything. No bread in my house so I am never tempted. Make little meat loaves in muffin tins, or make mini quiches in the muffin tins. I use eggs, low fat Swiss cheese, FF milk, and fresh crabmeat or sprinkles of bpcooked bacon, no crust, to make the quiches. I have made it a habit to never have bread or pasta in reach. I also keep tuna salad and cooked ground beef with taco seasoning for a quick meal.

Meals and Snacks Need Help!
Pescador replied to Lisa_85's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
A rotisserie chicken makes several meals. My husband has a few slivers of smoked salmon, and I might have tuna on lettuce. We make very simple decisions in the kitchen now. One filet mignon feeds the two of us, when I find them on sale. Sometimes we have steamed cabbage and low fat turkey kielbasa. Fish is our favorite meal, saltwater such as Mahi, Grouper, Snapper, or flounder, with Old Bay seasoning, sautéed in a little EVOO. -
The fear of the unknown was the worst part. Relax and it will be over before you know it!
