Clear proteins questions
Pescador replied to Autumn Fury's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just do broth, SF apple cider, and your surgeons recommendations and you will be fi.ne. We have been there! -
Seriously there are thousands of us who have done this. Get serious with the real problems, not the misery of liquids and boredom!

Pescador replied to Tabatha C's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
We are in the twilight years of our life, and believe me, it is the absolute BEST years of our life. We can now lie side by side and hug magnamously and cuddle the best ever! No bellies in between! -
Keeping It in Perspective: Has WLS Made You More Patient?
Pescador replied to Alex Brecher's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Nope, made me angry and less tolerant of BS. I am just fine, don't mess with me. Life is short. -

I do not know when or if you were sleeved. I am three years post op. I order low carb, never a potato or pasta, and can make two to three meals off a dinner. I think if you stop with the lobster and relax a bit, you will feel full. Then you have crablegs to take home! Following the no drink rule makes a ton of difference. I love eating out!

I have used Braggs four years, mixed with honey. Post sleeve 3 years, no problem. I have the Braggs book and believe in it!

So many of us had hernias, including me and my husband. Sip sip sip and your body and gut instinct should tell you when to go to the ER. Trust yourself. It will get better and better.

I love the simple phrase, I changed my life. You want my diet plan? LOL

When does this get better
Pescador replied to busybeebug's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Every day will be better than before! In one year you will be loving your life 100 times more! -
I love this silly humor, really. I do remember being a Newbie, and I did not understand it like I learned to, with great people who lighten my day. Please stay, ask someone in private if you should eat a taco or pork chop, because if you have to ask you know damn well you shouldn't eat it. Maybe a better idea is call the ER and ask a nurse on call if you can eat a taco or pork chop! LAUGH like there's no tomorrow!!!

Keep busy! Do things. Get outside. Go for a walk. Drink lots of water. After a length of time you should stop losing, so take advantage of NOW!!!! Good luck!

How is everyone? Any updates?

At 66 with terrible diabetes, heart stent, sleep apnea, HBP, my husband weighed 320-330, 6'2". Because of his age and health problems, our surgeon told him the risks of surgery, but the risk of him not having the sleeve was more scary. Rescue calls were common at our house. He is down over a hundred lbs, usually weighing 217 or so. It has been the most wonderful three years of his life, as he was the fat baby, fat kid, and fat man. I am so proud to have him experience this without people looking at him with contempt. If you are healthy and younger, I would consult with another surgeon for another opinion. You are large framed. The longer people wait, the worse the health problems become. Good luck, we have never had a problem with the sleeve, and life is great!!!

6 months out... and what I've learned
Pescador replied to doppelganger's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
It all sounds familiar to me, been through all stages. Good luck! -
I would go somewhere else because that is ridiculous. Your stats don't show how large you are, if you or male or female, but the only place I have seen that is on tv, when the people weigh 800 lbs. and the surgery is too much with that weight.

6 days post op and I've broken down...mentally struggling :(
Pescador replied to Tabatha C's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Tabatha, so sorry you are suffering this setback but 1). You knew when to go to the doctor/hospital, and 2). They found the problem and are treating it. What is so important here is that you don't rely on uneducated people here giving you medical advice that something might be gas pain, etc. Trust your gut instinct, your judgment, and your body, and make sure you get medical treatment, the life you save may be YOURS! -
I took a break for 1 1/2 years. Best thing I did for myself. I went walking on the beach, I collected shells, I painted, took art classes, quit FB and felt wonderful to leave behind the drama of others' lives, decorated a beach house, and then I decided I needed support to lose the 20 happy pounds I gained back. PEace and happiness to all.
