Meal delivery services
Pescador replied to QueenOfTheTamazons's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband and I were both sleeved and meals are a thing of the past most of the time. In the fridge, I keep salads, smoked salmon, chicken salads tuna, low fat cheese, protein shakes, cottage cheese, boiled eggs, etc. We prefer to eat when we are hungry, me early, him later. Last night I had a delicious boiled egg. Tonight we will eat together and have fresh Florida Wahoo. I really think meal planning would be cumbersome and wasted on us. One other staple is lean baked meatballs, topped with a T. Of homemade Marinara. It works well for me and my husband. -
Wooooohooooo and welcome' !!!!!!

Are you making your significant other crazy?
Pescador replied to IveGotThePower's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I could walk out every morning looking like an elephant or a skinny monkey and my husband would say Good Morning Beautiful! I simply have to be near him to feel like the most special and beautiful woman on earth. I wish every woman had this kind of love and acceptance, but he is number three. Number one of 20'years, greatest friend ever even though he never found his way home, number 2 four years almost was the death of me, but 25 years with number three warms my heart and soul in our twilight years. My children say Mom, you deserve him. I think so too. -
Everyone has issues. Maybe the best thing is this surgery, and then renewed health/stamina. If you have children, a long term wife/marriage, I promise it is not perfect for anyone here no matter what they say. Work on you and your family, because that is the most important thing on earth. Best wishes.

I could not WAIT until I had a teaspoon of refried beans with a dash of salsa or taco sauce! I am a Mexican food junkie! Three years later, maybe four chips and Queso and Salsa, I stop'. I think I could go on for weeks!!!!! But my health is more important, and I refuse to go there.

We were all scared, all nervous, all excited and optimistic. It is the greatest gift my husband and I could have ever given ourselves. I wish you the best!!!! -
Eating around the sleeve?

We drive six hours a lot to the Florida panhandle, and a few bites of jerky keeps us satisfied. No stopping for food. -

I am happy to use any type of venison in recipes, especially baked meatballs, meatloaf, chili. It is very low fat. -

If you find a recipe that you like please share it. I have never had a good turkey jerky. Also when it comes to Wild Turkey I can only do the breasts and thighs. After that it just has too odd of a flavor. If I found something that I could enjoy the legs and wings as well that would be awesome. My husbands uncle takes his Jerky to West VA every 4th of JUly reunion. Yummy. I will share, we just got it in the mail. -

Once years ago my husband came home with wild Texas turkey, saying you won't like this gamey taste. He soaked it in eggs and milk, then fried it in small pieces. It was the best thing I Have Ever eaten. We have lots of GA turkey on hand for the jerky recipe. -

We take long trips and lots of jerky. Just bought a good dehydrator, got a terrific old recipe from a 90 y/o uncle in Ohio, and it has to be healthier than the processed. My husband wants to do the turkey jerky before he gets his next buck. -
Medical alert bracelet/ necklace

We chose not to. My husband and I usually are together and our doctors and hospitals and daughter are phone calls away. We have used the same hospital for many years. My husband wears one for diabetes. You could always keep your medical history easily accessible in your wallets. -

Dub, you re priceless, one in a million. Thanks for the smiles. -
My husband has for 3 years drank a pot of coffee with no problem, winter only. I drink l cup a day in the winter. It was our secret pleasure!

Some foods we eat have minimal starch, but purposefully we keep no pasta, rice, bread, or potatoes in our home. My husband refuses to touch it, and I would be eating it if I fixed it. I try to always choose food that has very few carbs. I know that frozen Ezekiel bread is recommended on some diets, good luck!

Husband Isn't being supportive
Pescador replied to luli1690's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I honestly believe you must figure this out, considering your age, weight and health, and the strength of your marriage. Good luck, maybe you can take him to your Pastor, a therapist, or anyone who can help you with professional help. Best wishes, be strong! -
You look wonderful!

One month out, haven't lost weight in three weeks! (HELP)
Pescador replied to kcolley12345's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I believe the lower the weight, the less the loss. I am struggling, back on shakes. -
That is so true! I just turned 70 last month. My husband has begged me 25 years, and still, to buy a bikini. Right now he is a couple hours away, and just told me to get naked and relax after I was in the pool. We might get old, but in our minds we remain you and happy in heart!

Hello all, I joined the site in early 2013 when my husband and I were sleeved. It was the most wonderful learning experience, I was Linda from Florida then. Moved on to a lot of traveling, boating, hunting, cruising and loving my husband. I need the camaraderie of the group, the motivation, and am back with a vengeance as LoopyLulu. I worked 44 years in the Courts in Florida, and became too opinionated, too caring, too judgmental, and over involved with helping others. I have the best marriage for 25 years, and the previous one of 20 years recently sat by me sweetly as we watched our only grandson marry. Life is great, and I grew to really enjoy some great people on this forum.
