Well, I tried everything suggested, and NOTHING stopped my hair loss from 5 months to over a year out. Grew back so slowly, and now at three years post sleeve, it is good. Hope a miracle works for some people. My miracle was a nice wig.

Going home the same day?
Pescador replied to Boudala's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I checked in the hospital and spent 8 hours. Home and happy before I caught some dread disease like Cdif or Staph. Go home and relax like I did. I was 67 and never ever had a problem for 3 yeaars. -
GenePro GEN2 - is anyone using it?
Pescador replied to chuswysly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have not noticed a smell at all, but I have added it to V8 juice, shakes, and a few warm (not hot) foods, and there is no taste. I will keep using it. -
Did anyone get a prescription for Emend to take pre op for nausea?
Pescador replied to ella37's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
My husband and I have had no nausea in three years. -
I would think some vegetables would help you more than anything. Good luck!
-
You will be so happy you won't care about the food. The smells might get you but a protein shake will satisfy you.

I was sleeved three years ago, Nov. 18. I loved it being cold, and sipping soups, broth. I will never forget our first meal, homemade chili we sipped on Christmas Day. By the time you have things under control it will be Spring, and there will be a New You!

Angry at Unsupportive SO! Get a backbone women and men!

Look it up on the Internet and you can see what station it is on, since we all have different cable companies. It is a series following morbidly obese men and women through one year pre op and post op. -

Patience patience. Do not be defensive. I never tell anyone they are full of crap. Ever ever ever. I am too old for that nonsense. Relax, do not take anything so personal. I am 70 years old but don't spend my time in the pea patch like my Grandma did. I am funny, crazy, helpful, sad, loving, and not your enemy.

Dearest Katie, there is no war here or need to attack. Step back and realize I can be your grandmother, aunt, or Mother. I feel really bad that you think people are here to attack you but I assure you it is not true. Please embrace the knowledge, leadership, guidance, and love here. It is priceless. Please relax and learn. Big hug. Linda Davis

When can we have lettuce and tomato again
Pescador replied to Patchakc's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
About four months I was terrified of salads, but the NUT convinced me. No problem ever! -
You joined one month ago. This is a COMMUNITY of HELP. Maybe we get snarky trying to save lives with people here and sending them to ER visits. YOu tell me one other place you can go for help. NOWHERE. I can barely reach my surgeons nurse in the past three years. I know when to go to the ER. I am older and have pushed past the BS with my surgeon, but a 20 year old does not have my experience. Disrepctful is NOT OUR AGENDA. We are leaders, not nurseries for infants. Give me. Break, I am so offended.

Pescador replied to Pescador's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am 37 and I have never had a boyfriend, but that is because I refuse to settle. I won't just take what I can get. I, too, would rather be happy and single than miserable in some relationship. Sent from my iPad using the BariatricPal App . I have so many single friends, sweetheart, and I tell them what I learned 40 years ago. I would rather be alone than to be married and ALONE. -
Fifteen years of WL Seminars, and thank God we discovered the Sleeve. Never felt like I had surgery. Never been sick. I Gree that you need a competent surgeon who does different surgeries, who can advise you what to expect with each surgery.
-
Libby, both those procedures are a piece of cake. You close your eyes and it is OVER! The worst of the colonoscopy is the liquid you drink. Remember, millions have done that awful drink, lol! Good luck!

20 days till surgery. What do I need to buy for when I come home?
Pescador replied to danny77's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was in the grocery store two days after the sleeve. I cannot tell you how much I threw out, when I overbought at Sams Club, and did not use. Bouillon and FF soups were our go to favorites. My scale is in the drawer never used. Protein bars were not a favorite, and some went in the trash. I made the mistake of putting Premier protein shakes in the hot garage, and they spoiled. Lived and learned. I thought I was stocking a storm shelter! -
Diabetes...lower A1C post-op anyone?
Pescador replied to ginabee38's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
GinaBee, the A1c dropped steadily as we dropped the weight. At 3 years it is stabilized. We both came off Metformin immediately, then my husbands Doctor kept adjusting. The insulin to a lower dose.
