I am doing two shakes most days. I ate almost nothing for a week two months ago and I could definitely tell a difference in restriction.. check out pouch reset, and others will give you more expert advice than mine. Best of luck.

I regained twenty lbs two years after surgery. It has been near impossible to take it off. I am still struggling. Remember the more you put back on it will be ten times harder getting it back off. I won't give up. I am back on shakes!

Hiking & Camping VSG Food Ideas
Pescador replied to #BirdDog's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If you are hiking sounds like you will need beef jerky, trail mix, and light items for food. The GenePro protein powder is about one T. Of powder and would mean x with most anything. I have never hiked, but I loved camping in the motor home. I need a cooler and more than I can carry, so good luck with your hiking!!!! -

This 70 year old and my precious 69 year old husband have danced our lives away for the past three years! Especially our grandsons recent wedding! -
I still take Omeprazole daily. I love lean ground beef mixed with taco spices. I love anything spicy. Guess I would rather suffer the heart burn, but it doesn't last long.

I am addicted to spicy but the results are not good with terrible heartburn. Surgeon says NO!

Keep busy and grab a coupe apple slices as a snack. The less I eat the less hungry I am. Good luck!

My husband loves smoked salmon while I prefer packaged tuna. I love tuna mixed with diced apples, a little sweet pickles, and light mayo. Sounds weird but so good. Rotisserie chickens fix 3-4 meals. My husband and I eat completely different, but I keep all staples, cottage cheese, cream cheese, turkey meatballs, you name it, in the fridge and freezer and our meals are quick and easy!

I have been here almost three years and let me assure you these people are experts at weighing food, counting protein, carbs and sugar, and in general guiding thousands of people through stages and phases of surgery and the aftermath. It is not simple. It is so complicated even I don't get it sometimes, but I trudge on, trying to learn every single day. Everyone is not so sure as you put it but they offer sound and good advice to the people who need it. I still need it three years after surgery.

Can you try a little refried beans mixed with GenePro? My husband and I never puréed anything . We mashed with a fork and took tiny bites. Chili was our favorite. You can add GenePro to a small bowl of lowfat chili. There are so many options. I wish you well and hope you know This is a phase and it gets wonderfully better. We are post sleeve three years, never struggled, still drinking Premier Protein shakes, still eating almost zero carbs, and it is just a way of life. I sure wish you the best!

Anybody have belly cramps 3wks after sleeve
Pescador replied to txsleeve2026's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Probably has to do with gas, constipation, etc. When in doubt go to the ER. Too many people here could have serious medical issues and ask for advice in this forum. Trust your gut. -
Same with me and my husband three years now. We had a perfect recovery. My oh my wish we had the surgery 20 years sooner!

Get busy cleaning a closet, rearrange drawers, and paint a room if you can. It kept me sane and occupied! -
Don't feel the limitations that I believe I should.

Raynbolite, it has to be hard having kids and grandkids around with their snacks!!! Good luck! -
I have saved some awesome holiday recipes from Pinterest under Bariatric recipes. For the most part, I cook according to the number of people I am having, the same way I always did. My husband and I were both sleeved, and we have a small plate, and if no one wants the leftovers it goes straight in the trash. No way would I keep it in my house. I used to cook enough for a week, now I cook only enough for one meal.

Cheated 5 days after my sleeve
Pescador replied to jenniferbook902's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I sometimes drink a carton of Premier PRotein before going out with friends to eat, then I order a cup of soup, or just say I am not hungry and I talk and have coffee or a drink. I have not let the sleeve keep me from going out. My husband and I play Trivia and go listen to bands, concerts, but it helps us to eat before we go out. It just works for us.
