About Me
Hi, I'm Kel. I'm a 47 year-old mom of 4, working full-time in Chicago's "Loop" and commuting via the Metra from the suburbs. I have an amazing, supportive husband, and teenagers.
I am passionate, joyful, organized, helpful and enjoy people and life immensely. I wish I had more energy, though! I'd love to be able to move freely and fit comfortably into every seat I sit in. The movies can be a very uncomfortable 2 hours for me! My husband is also larger, and enjoying food together is one of our favorite pastimes.
My portion sizes are too large, I'm snacking too often, and my choices are often poor - high sugar/fat foods.
I'm one month post surgery on my Lap-Band, and so far I've lost 17 lbs. since my highest weight this past summer at my pre-op visit to my surgeon. I've only lost 12 since my a week prior to surgery (when I started a super low-carb diet in order to shrink my liver). I'm on the right track, though. My portion sizes are smaller, healthier, and much more natural. I feel like it's going slower than I want it to, but when isn't that the truth, right?
