Do I need to be unfilled a little?

Hi ~ thx for the reply. The fill was over a week ago; I can get a free unfill. I'm wondering if I should. I just now have restx since my band, 04/05/10. My biggest concern is not being able to drink cold liquids or eat that much...no where close to a cup. What are the long adverse affect of being too tight?

Do I need to be unfilled a little?

this is a very timely question. i got a fill on Tue, 09/07. i was fine that day. the next day, i could only get teaspoons of warm liquid down. i broke on Sat, 09/11, was able to eat some foods but still nothing cold. meat does not bother me. but nothing cold and still only sips of room temp liquids. i was sliming for a few days but i just slowed down my eating. i have an appt for a free UNfill; however, I'm wondering if I really should at this point. it's about a 10 hr round trip and $80 in gas to the Fill Center USA. I have not been able to eat a cup of solid food...3/4 c of cream of wheat. of course, i'm soon hungry. and get this.....rice krispy treats are the only thing i can eat w/o a problem. but they are empty calories. can anyone possibly offer any guidance. TIA
  6. a friends sister was going to be w/ me during the Sx but she flaked at the last min when i arrived in San Diego...but i had it done anyway. the patiet coord said 85% of the patients go alone. another lady was having the gastric sleeve after my LAP-BAND?? and she was alone. the only issue i had after the Sx was the RNs bell was not hooked up...the first few hrs was a little rougher than my gall bladder surgery. i wished he used stronger pain meds but he's very conservative. be sure that the MD you choose actually does thx Sx and not "supervises". some run them through like cattle. i got better treatment than when i had my gall bladder Sx but they used really, really good pain meds...lol

  7. my experience was great. i would go again. i have since read that the Mexican consulate (sp) has issused a red alert warning (?) for TJ MX. i felt completly safe. even walked the streets to eat before my Sx and the next day to the grocery store for liquids. the hotel was attached to the medical center...very safe. i like the MD...he's very experienced, the patient coord is very nice but i did find that follow up w/ her after the Sx was very poor. she has 5 kids and uses her cell instead of staying in the office.

  8. i read on a post that u had ur surgery in Mexico... i to am going to Mexico how was your experiance??? plz let me know thanks zen

I bet no one has had this happen...

i wonder if the MDs are *trained* to withdraw the saline to check the level? My MD does this. I've had three fills and wonder if its really necessary. How do I find out the documented protocol?

    bad breathe

fyi-per my dentist, sugar fee mints have sorbitol...an alcohol....which is drying and causes bad breath.

    Should I tell my employer

The 3rd and 4th days were the worst for me. I think I'm pretty tough but as Hummingbird said...I was whipped, weak, and tired. Again, it could be my age. Don't plan on sleeping in a bed either. I had my Sx in MX. The pain meds he gave me was no better than tylenol. On my 3rd fill, my US fill MD made a comment like, Oh yeah, your port is up here. I thought, "where is it ''post to be"? I had more pain from the port than anything. If you have the PTO, take 2 weeks...don't try to be a hero...make investment in yourself.

    Fill Center COSTS

I was advised not to get the annual plan. Its based on a point system and only good for a yr and everyone's needs are diff. My MD seems to think I will only need 2 more fills to get where I need to be for a total of three. We'll see.

Has anyone used the Fill Centers USA?

BTW, a local MD ageed to see me....$350 a pop and not w/ an xray either. Also, the FillCenter MD said using a fluro wasn't necessary. Has anyone ever been told that.

Has anyone used the Fill Centers USA?

I had my first fill at FillCenterUSA, Denver NC. I only had a three questions and he answered them before I could ask and almost all in the same sentance. It was $349 for the first visit and $165 for the next. I spoke at length w/ Charlotte, FillCenter, after speaking w/ a few more before her. She was great. The others didn't seem to have the experience as Charolotte. I asked if there was a customer service record for the MD...sure enough. He had a 4.7 out of 5. I would rate him a 5. Now this was my first visit...the fill was a breeze. I hear they can get tougher.
