Good question. I was really disapointed, but now I am 3 weeks out and I did drop another 2 lbs. Even though the have the ok from the doctor to start the mushie stage, I really do not feel like eating.

I need some suggestions. I have started my mushie stage after surgery. The baby food thing just does not sound good to me. Also the Meat and Chicken in the blender also does not sound inviting. I have 2 weeks of mushies and would love to hear what others have done. Thanks Dianne -
I also have some optifast left, so i'm going to drink 2 everyday and one meal of mushies to start with and see how it goes. I explained to Dr Kim yesterday I have not lost any weight since surgery and he said that is common. If I still am swollen from surgery the weight is hard to come off. But he was so nice and supportive. I can not say enough good things about Dr Kim.

That's what I was thinking. So far on the optifast I really have not been hungry. But I know once on the mushies it's going to be harder. I think I am going to call the center back they told me to come to the Plano center. But there might be one not so far from me. Have you started to excercise yet. Dr Kim reminded me yesterday that the excercise is a must. I have not started yet, but I get with the program. Love to hear how you are doing, it helps me know whats next.

Had my Post-Op visit with Dr Kim yesterday afternoon. I am schedule for my first fill on March 6th. I did not even think to ask where we are to show up. Stacy do you know? Last couple of days, I have felt much better. Today I get to start my mushies. I think this is going to be harder that the optifast. What have you been eating?
-
The Optifast diet is not easy, but I did ok with it, and you will too. I am still on it. Tomorrow will be my last day, I still have some so I will be drinking them while I am on Mushies. Have you had your appointment with Dr Kim yet. He is the greatest. Dianne

Hi Stacy: I am looking forward to my visit with Dr Kim tomorrow. I lost about 14 lbs before surgery with the Optifast diet. But after surgery I have not lost anything. I keep telling myself not to get frustrated. With what I read here, this sounds common. My port area is still very tender. I still can feel pulling in my tummy, so I have not started to do any excercise. Just do not want to push it. Did you get a letter from TLCEdge Wellness program. Sounds like they have a conference call every Wednesday. I think I am going to call in tomorrow.

Yes, how could you tell. My husband and I both ride harleys. We love it. I ride a Blue custom Road King. Can't wait till I get this wait off so I can even look better on my bike. I know what you mean about being excited, I know I was, but I am also glad to be on the other side. Still on my Optifast diet. Wednesday I will get to eat mushies. Can't wait. Dianne

Janet, you look wonderful. Go Girl. I bet you are a dancing fool. Well I had my surgery on the 24th. Today is my first day back to work. Feeling much better than I did last week. Still on my 2 week Optifast diet. Get to change to muchies on Thursday. At this point mash potatoes sounds so good. Go back to the doctor for check up Wednesday. I am still sore around the port area. -
Hi everyone. I made it. Surgery went great. Today is my first day back to work. I was planing on coming back last Monday, but I was not up to it, Decided to just take it easy until I was not pushing myself. Dr Kim is wonderful. The staff at the surgery center were great, could not have asked for anything better. My surgery was at 9:00 and I was home by 2:00. I tried to walk a little every hour and I feel it helped my with the gas. I did take the pain medication for 4 days. Today I am doing just fine. I am still tender around my port. I have my follow up visit with Dr Kim this Wedneday. Feels good to have the surgery past me.

Thanks so much. I'm ready. I will keep you posted.

I rode a lowrider before I got my Road King. Was a nice bike. With being in Texas we do get to ride most of the year. Harley's are fun.

Thanks for your encouragement. I will keep you posted. It has helped to know someone that used the same doctor.

Great story. Patti, you should think about riding your own. I rode behind by husband for awhile, It was hard for the 2 of us to ride together, so I decided to get my own. I ride a Road King and love it. Dianne

Did you cheat on pre-op liquid diet
Road King replied to crystalcml's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I'm still on my 2 week pre-op with Optifast. No I have not cheated. There have been times I came very close, but I am happy to say I stuck with it. I am self pay and I guess I just want to make sure I do everything to the book. -
Sounds like you are doing great, I sure hope I do as well. Keep in touch.

I am on my 2 week pre-op optifast diet and my doctor wants 2 weeks optifast after the surgery. Yesterday durning the football games my mind kept telling me to just have something, but I kept from cheating and stayed with the optifast. My surgery is Thursday, I sure hope the hunger will leave me for a little while after surgery. I never knew there were so many advertisments with food on TV before. Who said this was the easy way out? They are full of S......

Thanks so much for your reply. How are you doing after surgery. Much pain???. I have been doing fine with the Optifast diet, I'm not really hungry, but would love to chew something. But now that I know I only have 3 more days to go before surgery I'm fine. Dr Kim also told me to stay on Optifast for 2 weeks after surgery. I am schedule to go back to work the Monday after surgery, I have a desk job. What did you do??
-
I too have decided on TLC Edge. I'm also self pay. I had my appointment with Dr David Kim last Friday and I really did like him. He made me feel very much at ease. I am so glad to hear you used the same doctor and were satisfied with him. My surgery is on the 24th. I have not yet been told what time my surgery is going to be. They told me someone would call sometime Wed to let me know.
-
I wish everyone with surgery dates today the best. Keep us posted on how you are doing. My date is the 24th and looking forward to crossing to the other side.
