I really did not feel any different until my second fill. I have been a slow looser. But I have not gained either, so that is a possitive. I just know the weight is not going to come off until I make up my mind to excercise. But what I have learned, everyone is different. Dianne

Stacy where are you. Long time no word.

Baggio, Hope everything went great for you. Just remember Walk, Walk and walk some more. The walking helped me with the gas. We will all be waiting to hear from you. Welcome to the other side. Dianne

Pat yes I got your message. Thanks for asking. Had to stay home with him yesterday, but back to work today. I agree about getting the fills we need within the free 6 month period. Does anyone know what and how it works after the 6 months is up. I would think we could stay with TLC. But wonder what the cost is going to be. If anyone knows let me know. My restriction is really strange. After the second fill I have a number of foods I can not eat at all. If I take just one or two bites I get stuck. Then there are some foods I have no problem with at all. Anyone else going through this. My 3rd fill is not scheduled till May 15th. But I really do not think I need one now anyway. Hope everyone is doing great. Dianne

Thanks Pat. My husband has Hep C and Cirrhoisis. He was diagnosised about 10 years ago. Has tried the treatements for Hep C, but was a non responder. He has been fighting extreme fatique for about 4 years now, but his systems are starting to get alot worse. We try to keep positive and hope soon they will put him on a liver transplant list. The new liver is the only hope he has. I wish we could get his disability approved, then I would stop working and stay home with him. I keep saying God does not give us something if he feels we can't handle it. I have to believe God knows what he is doing. Sorry I keep crying today. But I really had a tough weekend. Tomorrow will be better. Dianne

Cowboy sure is nice hearing from you. No I was not able to go riding. My husband has been having some serious health issues for the past year and for the last couple of weeks he has not been doing very well. It was really hard to come in to work today and leave him at home alone. We have tried to apply for disability for him, but our first try Cigna turned him down. So now we are in the appeal process. We have 4 doctors that say he should be on disability but Cigna is still fighting it. He will have one or two days where is does not feel to bad and then it's down hill for a couple of weeks. Sorry I don't mean to push all my negative going on's here. My dog did take me for a couple of walks this weekend and I worked in the yard a little on Sunday. Hope everyone had a nice weekend. Dianne
-
I hope to ride my bike tomorrow. Sunday it's the clean house thing. Hey guys I walked at lunch 30 min. I am so glad it's Friday, I am ready for the weekend. Dianne

I used to have a friend we would walk together at lunch, but she found another job about a year. After she left I got in the habit of just working through my lunch. I know it's a bad idea, But I always seem to have enough to do to just keep on working. I really do not have an excuss not to walk at lunch. Have a perfect place. I know I am not going to loose this weight without the exercise. My second fill is working on the portion control. I still have trouble eating a number of different foods. I get full fast. I also think it's my age. I know I will have to exercise to get my body in gear. Don't get me wrong, I did not pay 10,000 to give up. Dianne

Pat you are better than I am. No I did not go for my walk. On my way to work this morning I talked to myself the whole way. I am going to walk today. So no my nails are not done and I did not go walking. I just get so mad at myself, but I guess not mad enough or I would do something about it. Dianne
-
OK guys I am already trying to talk myself out of walking at lunch today. It's not a pretty day and very windy. I need to find me someone here at work that wants to walk so they can motivate me to keep on schedule. This should not be this hard. But IT IS. Dianne

I do not remember any shot in my stomach. I guess I must have been out cold as well. I am a great one to say put me out and then you can do what you need to do. Baggio, don't worry you will be taken care of very well. They are all great people. Pat: Yes one time I can eat something and have no problems and then the next time I try and after the first 2 bites I know it's not going to work. I still get upset with myself that I can't make myself get on a schedule to walk everyday. I keep saying I will walk on my lunch, but then something happens at work and I end up working through my lunch. I know when I did walk the scale was my friend, now that I am not walking again, the scale is not moving. Dianne

Hi everyone. So good to hear from everyone. Baggio : Glad you joined us. I think everyone on this site hit it off, because we had our surgery all at the same place. We are all starting about the same time. Pat and I had our surgery on the same day. I even think she was in the bed next to me at pre op. But as you can tell we all still go through everything a little bit different. I know what you mean about just drinking the optifast. Thats why I got the Tomato soup TLC offered and it really wasn't that bad. I had my Tomato soup for dinner each night. The other thing that was really hard for me to give up was my diet cokes. I used to drink 4 or 5 a day. It was the first thing I wanted when I got up every day and I drank one before I went to bed. But I am happy to say I stopped when I started my 2 week prior surgery and have not had one since. I do not even think about them any more. Hope you share your journey with us. Stacy: I think George filled me up pretty good with my second fill. I know after he gave me my second fill and was told to drink my water, I drank slow and could fill the water going down. But for what ever reason I told him I was ok. So I have to be very carful on what I eat and slow down to a crawl or I will get stuck. As soon as I start to feel tightness in my throat, like a golf ball I stop eating. If I push one more bite I am really in trouble. I have been able to walk it off , my protions have really gotton smaller. I'm at 6.4 now and I am not even thinking about a fill. Bread and Rice are a big NO NO NO. I have gone out to eat dinner a couple of times, my husband ordered what he wants and I pick at his meal with 4 or 5 bits and I am done. CRAZY. Now the scale is slow, but I keep telling my self the way I am eating it will kick in some day. Still drink my bullets everyday. Pat: Girl, Do you not sleep. I am glad you found your bullets and like them. I like the idea I do not have to count my protein any longer. I am getting in more that 60 a day, but I feel the more the better. Some of the food I will try to eat and think I will have trouble and I don't and then something I think will be just fine, I get in trouble. Like Saturday morning I fixed me some scramble eggs. I have had them before, but I only had 3 bits and had to give up. Go figure. Tex GOOD to hear from you. Thought we lost you. Don't get in a rush and push to hard. I know after my surgery I was feeling great and I thought I was ok to go back to normal. Well I was wrong. I started to get hard pains around the port area. I was for sure something had gone wrong. I called Cindy and she told me to slow down and keep a watch I must have pulled something that was not ready to be pulled yet. As it turned out she was right, lesson learned. Does anyone else feel this band is a number of lessons learned. Everyday a new one. I agree with Stacy one day we all need to meet face to face. Dianne

I tried to drink them alone and they were just to strong. So I mix them with my Propel and sip on them and that way I get my protein and water in. Good luck, I like them Sure has helped me. Dianne
-
I put my Protein bullet in by Propel. It already has flavor plus the Propel has some Vitamins. I told George what I was doing and he thinks it's great. One bottle is 16.9 oz, So I drink 4 a day. There is 25 cals in each bottle, but I get it down much better than Water alone. With the protein bullet mixed in I really do enjoy the taste if that makes sense. I am having problems finding a Protein shake I like. I got a case of that ESA AdvantEdge from Sams. I did not like it at all. I had no problems drinking the Optifast But I am out. I am still having trouble eating a number of things after my 2nd fill. I eat 4 or 5 bits and I am done. It's really not a full feeling, it's a feeling if I keep going I will get stuck so I stop. Bread and Rice is a big NO NO for me. Now I can eat a little Pasta. I have not gotton back on the scales for a couple of days. I am trying to stay off till Saturday. I know that crazy, but I want to see if I can get excited again. I was so down on myself since surgery, because I just was not loosing anything, and then 3 lbs went so fast after my 2nd fill. I am still so damm excited. I am going walking again today at luch. The sun just came out. I am so glad we have this site. It really is the only place I reallly post at. Dianne

So true. We all needed that comment.

Lucy: That is exactly why I do not want to go ask for them to take out any fill. But I do not know if I can last as long as you have being stuck. I am also having problems with any kind of meat. That why I went and got me the protein bullets to mix with my water, so I could be sure to get my protein in each day. Dianne

You will love Dr Kim. I took my husband with me when I had my first visit with him. Before I went to him I was really scared I was about to make a decision I was going to be sorry for. The money because I was self pay and what was I doing to my body. But after to visit with Dr Kim I felt so much better and my hasband was also very happy with him. He is great. I do not know of anyone who had Dr Kim that has not been totally happy with him. Keep us posted on how you are doing. If you are having your surgery on the 17th, you have already started your Optifast diet. Dianne

Becky: I understand what you mean " Ready to get this show on the rode. " I have 6.4 in a 10 cc band. Sounds like my doctor is being a little more aggressive. Now that I have 6.4 I have much more restriction. But I am thinking maybe to much. I had my second fill last Thursday, I am waiting to see if it will get better, don't really want to go and ask for them to take any out. I can drink, but I am having trouble eating much of anything.. I am determined to make this band work. Dianne

I have always had a hard time getting in my 64 oz but I have been drinking Propel and I am able to drink much more. Asked the doctor and he said it's fine that I'm drinking the Propel. I get some Vitamins with it. Plus I mix in the bullet Portein so I have no trouble getting my Protein in everyday. It's 11:00 and I have already has 36 oz today. Dianne
-
Stacy: I do try to eat small meals. But I think I was just able to eat to much. Even though I was eating less than I did before surgery I still think it was to much. I am hungry now, but I am waiting till 11:00 and I am going walking before I eat my lunch. Boy I hope I do not get stuck again. I thought I was dying Saturday anD that was with Soup. When I read on this site with others getting their fills. I really think George does an excellent job. Dianne Dianne

Well I can tell a big difference with my second fill from my first. I am at 6.4. I stayed with Protein shakes and Soup this weekend. Friday and Saturday I was thinking I might need to go back and get some removed. I got stuck bad on Saturday, It was horrible. Don't want to do that again. Then it hit me. With my first fill I thought I was eating slow, but I really do not think slow enough. Now with my second fill, I have to eat real slooooow. Or I get in trouble. As you know the scale has just not wanted to move for me after surgery. WELL I got on this morning and 3 lbs down. You would have thought I lost 50. So I have decided I am going to stick with the 6.4 for now and see what happens. I drink my Water with the Protein bullet mixed in with no problems. Had my shake this morning on the way to work. That was 2 hours ago. My hope is back. Maybe this will work. When I see the lbs's drop it sure makes me feel like getting with the program more. I think I will go walking at lunch. I know I am eating less. But still havn't figured out if it's because I feel full or I start to fell pressure and i'm scared I will get stuck if I eat more. Have any of you felt this way. Cowboy glad to hear you are doing ok with your first fill. I waited 3 weeks after my first fill to have my second. I think I called in for an appointment 2 weeks after. I am soooo happy today. Doesn't take much. Dianne
-
Cowboy: Yep, I joked with George and told him to be good with you. I knew he would, but I was just playing with George. Told him we spend the day talking about him. Hope you do well with your fill. Maybe next time we can meet. Sure would be nice. Do you live around Duncanville. Dianne

Randy thanks for the encouragement. I sure do need it. This weekend is going to be a nice weekend for riding. Yesterday right after the fill I felt good restriction, But this morning I don't know. I know I need to start walking more, so when I got home last night I took my dog for a walk, or should I say he took me for a walk. Dianne -
My fill yesterday was a piece of cake. Much better than the first one. Just knowing the process helps. Sure like going to the Duncanville location about 2 miles from my house. I will also say TLC had their act together yesterday. There were a number of people there getting fills. I am now at 6.4 in my band. I can tell the difference with this fill now, let just hope it stays. I am having to sip my Water. I am also staying on liquids as well till Monday. Maybe this fill will work better for me. I ahve finished all my Optifast, but I did fine a Safeway shake with 20g of Protein, only 12 carbs and 170 calories. Got it at Tom Thumb. It's really not that bad. Pat I have not gone to any of the TLC meeting. It's a long ride for me. I have gone to one dinner over in Arlington, which was fun. Missed it for March. My appointment yesterday was at 3:30 I almost waited to see if I could meet Cowboy I know his appointment was at 4:30. I told George yesterday I was really getting disapointed because I really have not lost any weight since surgery. He suggested I start a journal and write down everything I eat and I must get on an excercise program even if it's just walking. Just make sure I break a sweat. So we I got home I took my dog for a walk for 30 min. Or should I say my dog took me for a walk. I really do like George, I really get the feeling he really want us loose the weight. Keep in touch. Dianne
