I went in and got my second fill and I am at 5 cc in a 10 cc band. Still no restriction and not feeling full. I am at the same weight which I guess is good because I haven't lost or gained anything. I was curious to see how much fill do people need to feel full. I am going back this month and get another fill and hope that will be the last one. Thanks for your responses. Chilly

I was banded April 15th, 2008. I had my first fill the end of May which put me to 3 cc in my 10 cc band. No restriction yet! I am scheduled for a second fill the end of June and I am hoping that I will have some restriction with that one. My question is how many cc does it take to feel some restriction? I am not losing any weight and I can eat anything still. Thanks, Chilly

Lap Band Surgery Day Stories
Chilly replied to pennyt's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded April 15th. I arrived at the hospital at 9:30 a.m. and surgery was scheduled at 12 (noon). I was put into a room to check vitial signs and given a gown to put on. I was given a blood thinner shot in my stomach. It did burn for a few minutes. Then I was taken to a surgical holding area where the doctors came in to talk to me and answer any last minute questions. The nurse tried to put the IV in my arm but had a hard time, so she gave me another shot and then I don't remember anything after that. That was about 11 a.m. The next thing that I remember is waking up with a nurse next to me and asking me questions. My throat was so sore that I had a hard time answering her. I was also so sick (vomiting) for a few hours until the nurse realized that I was getting sick from the pain meds that they were giving me. Once those stopped I was feeling ok but still sore. I arrived in my room about 9 p.m. that night. When I gto to my room, that is when I noticed that I had 2 IVs; one in each arm. The nurse had me up walking about 10:30 p.m and around 12 midnight the nurse came in and took out the cath. and then I went to sleep for a couple of hours. The next morning, I had my test done and see the doctor and went home. I was feeling better a couple of days later. -
I was banded on April 15,2008 and lost 15 lbs when I went in for my post-op check and I have gained the weight back. I am so mad at myself. I get my first fill on May 28, 2008 and then hopefully I will lose the weight.

What made you choose Lapband?
Chilly replied to BeckyinTn's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
I chose the lap band because I wanted to lose the weight slowly. I thought that losing the weight slowly will give me time to build my muscles and also help me learn to control the amount of food I ate at a meal and though out the day. A friend of mine had the RNY and she lost weight as first and then put the weight back on over years. When talking to people and see what she went through that really help me with my decision. I love my band and how it has helped me get where I am now and going to be in the future. Just remember make the decision for YOU not for anyone else. YOU have to live with it and no one else does. Keep us posted on how you are doing through your journey. Good luck! Chilly -
Angie.. There is a size limit here in New York to ride roller coaster. You have to be under 200 lbs. or they can weigh you if they think you are bigger. I was just wondering how long it took for people to be able to feel comfort riding. Chilly

How many lbs. before you noticed a difference?
Chilly replied to NikkiD's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know what you are going through. I have lost a total of 30 lbs. and haven't noticed a change but my kids say that my butt isn't there anymore. I did notice a little change in my neck, face and arm areas. Take a look at those areas and maybe you can see a change too. Chilly -
pain between boobs.. what is it?
Chilly replied to Chilly's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Thanks everyone for your advice. The pain isn't as bad anymore. Went to see the doctor yesterday and she says it is gas from the surgery. Just walk and burp and it will go away. Thanks again, Chilly -
pain between boobs.. what is it?

Eureka, I had the pain too when I woke up but it went away and now it is back. I think if I burp I am going to lose everything but I cann't get it to come out. (the burp) When I let little burps out, OMG does the pain go all over chest area. I thought I did something wrong and that now I was paying for it. How long does it take for the gas to go away? I was banded on April 15th and have been doing good until this afternoon. I have a small pain in my chest area. I am not sure if I should call the doctors or not. The only thing that I did different was to take a sip of oj from my daughter. But I didn't have that much. Any advice would help. Chilly
