    2/9 Surgery Date Team

So I was scouring all over bariatricpal about having a bm, lol. I haven't yet, but also don't feel the need to. I'm going to go get some colace. Also I'm so weak today. I planned on going to this community event to walk around and here I sit dressed, shoes on, purse packed and ready to lay back down. I think I'll be taking off my shoes. Anyone else feeling weak? Probably need to get in more protein.

Hi guys... I'm the 2/8er. My oh my what a ride!!!! How are you guys feeling. I'm feeling good. No hunger at all. Slipped up and pooped a dorito in my mouth and soon as it hit my taste buds I was like ohhhh shoot!!! And into the garbage it went, didn't even chew. Lol. I came home from the hospital yesterday so I stayed a total of two nights. How is everyone?
  6. I'm full of jitters. My surgery is tomorrow and I'm having second thoughts. I mean my goodness I can't believe I'm going to do this. I have a perfectly working stomach. Why am I paying someone three grand to cut me? Going under anesthesia, all this blood work. Am I just that much of a failure? I have no intentions of hurting anyone or to sound condescending because we are all here for a reason. I just... Oh I don't know. Maybe it's just nerves and I swear all I want is a huge piece of chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream and a slice of pizza and some lasagna and a tall glass of pepsi with ice filled to the brim. But I'll just go get a glass of water so I won't be dehydrated on tomorrow because F it I don't want to be fat!
  7. Guess who is on the losers bench!!??? MEEEEEE!!!!! oh my gosh, you guys don't know how much of a help you truly were right before I left. I mean seriously. Well I'm here half sitting half laying in my hospital bed at 5:40 in the morning two days after surgery and I feel normal. I mean I have an iv, and feel ZERO hunger but I'm ok. Imagine that. The first day I wanted to update but everytime I logged on I fell asleep, lol. That morphine pump was everything. I was a little sad when they took it away last night and gave me the liquid lortab. I must say that it is fast acting though. But they only give it to you every six hours. By hour 4.5 I can feel the pain and by hour 5.5 I'm in tears. Ugh. So I'll stay drugged up for the first couple of days when I leave. I get discharged later today. I was supposed to leave on yesterday but hunni, let me tell you, they would have had to tie me to a gurney and sit me outside if they thought I was leaving yesterday. That huge machine that you stand in when you take the liquid to check for leaks broke yesterday that was a pain but I managed like a champ. I have been able to get my liquids in and the broth they give you is surprising good. I asked for a few packets from my nurse. They basically pour hot Water into a Styrofoam cup along with this pack. The taste reminds me of oodles and noodles with out the noodles. It's so weird only having a little bit though and being ok with that. The give you these little mL cups to measure out everything as you see fit. Stuff I liked: broth, water Stuff that was ok: Jello, popsicle Stuff that was yucky: tea, crystal light I think they all could go in the like field but just didn't do it for me. The popsicle varied between like and ok. Anywho, I am so thankful for you guys. Scoot over! I'm on the loser bench!!!
  8. Seriously, get your but up. (Me talking to me). OK getting up, going, I'm going, here I go. OK. Wait. Jimmyney Crickets! OK, I'm going.
  9. Oh my goodness, your words literally have me in tears. I'm heading to the hospital. 5:15 check in and 7:30 surgery. I got this. I got this. I got this. ( OK grandma, I HAVE this, lol).

    Feeling Like a Failure

Oh no, I can imagine how disheartening it is to see the pounds slowly creep back up. Have you talked with your nutritionist? Maybe they can offer some specifics that will help for your personal journey. Also, have you made a (not so good) modification to your diet? Im not set for surgery for another month but am currently 285 and 5'2. Stay with onderland! It's no fun on this side!! By the way you are totally NOT a failure.
  14. Bri I'm the same way! Although mine isn't seltzer but pepsi. I can give up everyrhing else no problem but no more sodas forever? ? my surgeon says the gas will cause the stomach to stretch but man, can one can a day or even every couple of days do that much harm? Le sigh.

Is it okay to pester my insurer?

Grrr. That's awful. Sounds like the doctor's office really dropped the ball.
