    Band to Bypass Fears

I am worn out tho and feel different this time. After having the band, I know weight loss surgery is not a magic pill and you lose weight no matter what you eat or drink. I am going to try as hard as I can to eat right but I can honestly say I won't exercise for a while ... maybe till next spring.

    Band to Bypass Fears

I didn't eat healthy cause I was so frustrated that I could barely eat until I threw up 3 times and would be hungry every meal. Not to make excuses but I did give up. I didn't eat a lot at all but I ate unhealthy.
  12. I had my band done in 2008 and never had problems with reflux until just about 2 or 3 months ago. I had it removed Aug 21st, 2015 and it got WAY worse. On meds until I have the bypass done. I have heard tooooo many people conplain about reflux with the sleeve or having to revise to the bypass due to not enough weight loss. Just skip the middle man and go for the GOLD! Just my opinion
  13. That is REALLY good to hear! I had my band removed August 21, 2015 and having bypass on November 16th or 23rd, 2015. Almost here!!!

  16. Ok thanks. I'm kinda anti facebook. I call it bitchbook.
  17. Welcome!! Your story is very similar to mine. I was also banded and suffered the same problems. I too was going to do the sleeve but with the same problems of reflux, I was told bypass was better option. This WILL work better than the band for sure! come join us on Facebook! I'll send you PM. I do not have a Facebook. Thanks tho
  18. I am having bypass either November 16th or November 23rd. I had the band done in 2008 and lost 100 pounds and gained back 40 so far. Started getting BAD reflux and throwing up everyday for years and years damaged my esophagus. Was originally going to have the sleeve but Dr says bypass due to reflux and irritated esophagus. I'm excited. I'm at 300 right now. Would like to get down to 150. Hope this works WAY better than the band... that was a waste of time and surgery. This pic was taken about a month or 2 ago.

I'm having the bypass. Also worried I'll be hungry since they don't remove that hunger hormone with the bypass that they remove with the sleeve. My acid reflux is too bad to have the sleeve.

Wow. I guess I'm worried mainly about gaining later down the road (years). I wonder if you can have too much protein? What surgery did you have?

I want my husband to do it with me but he doesn't want to give up beer and food.... which you have to sever your relationship with food. Do you guys have a YouTube???My wife was determined to get the surgery but i wasnt on board for me until my back went out again and went to back surgeon who said if i didnt get weight off surgery would be pointless on my back as would happen again. So that made up my mind. My wife chose gastric bypass, i went with gastric sleeve so if i wanted in moderation to have a beer or some fries etc i could and not get dumping syndrome.. So your husband "could" in theory enjoy some of his favorite items down the road as treats in moderation, but my relationship with food has changed for sure. I eat much healthier choices now, but also not afraid to have some treats. Like every diet in the world, its all about calorie intake and how much you burn. So if i have a treat or drink, i still try and stay under my daily calorie total. Even if you read my horror story and what i went thru post op, im an advocate to others to get the wls surgery and improve their health. Was still worth it for me. Good luckWhere do I read your story? Not sure how to paste it but you can search by posts made by me.. Will be one with over a 100 comments. I think titled prayers needed or something started late last yearI tried to find it but couldn't. Oh well. Did you have bypass?
