thinner-or-bust

okay so here's the deal! i am an ignorant bandster, i got a fill on the 5th August 08, and it was TIGHT i don't know how much was in it.. or my restriction in mls in total.. eek bad i know.. [will find this information out on tuesday coming] BUT The first few weeks i had to be much more careful about what i ate as i was PB'ing a fair bit - like 2 or 3 times a week. [which was lots for me in comparison to previous fills] in the last fortnight, very little of anything i eat or drink stays down, i feel as if i have over eaten/drunk every time i eat. I can no longer eat tomato, lettuce, cheese, pasta the only things i have really been able to keep down are rice crackers and some mashed vegetables and we are talking maybe a table spoon in total! i am getting very frustrated and very tired! i can't take my multi vitamin because i bring that up too... i'm not often hungry and i am eating more because my head is telling me i need food, ie breakfast time, lunch etc... On the plus side i have lost 12 kg in 8 weeks which for me is amazing.. BUT i know its not right.. If i have a blockage, how is it removed? my theory is that they just unfill my band and let it pass then re fill it! please tell me thats it... My worse fear is that i may have a slippage.. that means another operation right? well i can't afford that.. oh shit... i need help... and i'm kinda desperate... anybody with any experiences like these..??

O Wonderful Day, saw the surgeon today, he took out .5 of a ml and i can drink, and tonight i'm going to try to eat... making tuna patties, soft yet filling... so it shall be a test. so i have 5.7ml in my band and i think that will do until i go back and see him in 4 weeks.. thanks all for your support.. much appreciations xxxxx

arrghh.. went to ER last night and got put on fluids, feeling much more human and OH gained 2 kilos.. which means that most of what i have lost in the last 2 weeks has been fluid, which means i am not the skinny minny i thought i was.. lol.. but i feel better, still not able to get much down, but my brain isn't cloudy any more and i see my surgeon on tuesday. having today off cause i am sooo tired.. thanks for the comments and support..xx

hi there, Congrats on the LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCE... i love my band!! i had a little of that too when i first was banded and due to the soft foods and stuff found i had a lot more gas, and trapped gas below the band.. i found INFACOL (baby wind drops) helped for both ends *tmi* i know... but yeah i found it really useful... goodluck... hope this helps.. xx

Hi Giuys - i've been absent for a while... like 3 months apparently.. just wanted to check in and see how the January Bandsters are going.. hey girl, thanks for the kind words.. i totally understand the getting down over the food thing... but i just don't know if i could bear to put the weight back on.. could it be worth having some taken out of the band and trying some thing else to help (i'm swearing off any more fills - i'm at about 7 mls so i can't go much more or i'll be like dead) so i bought a bike, and now i'm going to give riding it a go!! i hope you find a solution, and that you feel better about the band soon... it has saved my life and i am really grateful... much love and support from me to you xxoo jess:wub:

Hi Damo... congratulations on making the best decision EVER..... you won't know yourself... I live an hour south of Rockhampton and have found this web space to be fantastic as there doesn't seem to be many locals around here with the surgery... Its good that i only have to go to rocky to get fills and follow up... are you able to find that locally or are you having to travel to bris?? anyways... good luck... you won't regret it..

i used to deny it and say it was cause i was tall... its just cause i had a gut... when you can wear a turtle neck.. cause u actually have a neck again! woot woot:thumbup:

Hi Guys, Not sure if anyone has heard how Jen is. Apparently she suffered a stroke on Wednesday 23 Jan 08. hi i sent her a text last night. it said she had been home on the weekend but was now back in hospital. i don't know if that means she was released or just on weekend visits....... will keep u posted.. xx

Hi GUYS!!! Heard from Jen, she seems in good spirits. She starts Rehab on monday to start getting movement back in the left side of her body.. she is still making jokes and sounds positive which is great under the circumstances! I've passed on all the good wishes and she appreciates it all... thats about all i know to date.. thanks guys xx

i text her and told her i was thinking of her and if she needed anything to let me know! thats about all at the moment x
