    Carbonated Beverages?

I'm over 2 years post op and can't tolerate any carbonation at all! The only time I miss it is at the movie theater. I've seen other people drink an entire Dr Pepper in one setting. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  2. I'm in the same boat! 2.5 years post op and between the hurricanes and a traumatic year filled with hospitalizations and an adoption, self care was placed on the back burner and I regained 17lbs. Support at my surgeons office is nonexistent so I came here looking for advice as well. For starters, I restarted my vitamins, am tracking my protein and my water. I feel like that's where my biggest mistakes were made. I'd love to hear some others solutions!

    Halloween Challenge!

Work was crazy this weekend so I didn't get to post. I wrapped up at 221.6. Still above goal but I did make progress. Moving forward!

    Parmesan cheese crisps

I started out by buying a bag in each flavor from GNC. At that point in my journey, anything that wasn't liquid and I was able to keep down, I considered a winner! I didn't care for the plain sea salt ones, sour cream and onion was just okay, cheddar and sour cream were pretty good and I really enjoy the BBQ ones. So much so that I just buy those by the case now. They are high protein, low calorie, portable, and digest easily for me. That being said, my husband tolerates them and my kids won't eat them so they're definitely not for everyone. I actually like it that way. It means they're still in the pantry when I'm ready for them which rarely happens in a house with teen boys! ????

    Parmesan cheese crisps

I'm definitely going to try those! I currently use Quest Protein Chips. My favorite is the BBQ flavor and I keep a bag in my purse at all times! Very handy to be able to grab a few when I get stuck out running errands or at the kids ball games.

    Jealous: Low BMI

I'm with y'all! I expected a big initial loss in the first few months before tapering off to a slow but steady weight loss rate of 2-3lbs a week. Instead, I'm averaging 0.5-1lb a week (after my first 2 weeks post op) and IT. IS. SO. FRUSTRATING!!! I was sleeved 8/10. HW 258, SW 247, CW 231. (I'm 5'7) I am trying really hard to stay positive and trust the process. I am working hard on getting in more calories. My nutritionist goal is 1200-1400 calories (I have a high muscle mass for a female) but I'm only averaging about 600 calories a day. I just can't get in enough food. Even a protein shake takes hours to consume. With most real food, I can't take more than maybe 2 bites before I'm stuffed. Any more than that and it comes back up. String cheese has become my go-to snack and I can finish one in about half an hour. I hate the idea that I'm in starvation mode and probably muscle wasting. Any tips for getting extra calories in? I have tried fat bombs and even though I did great with them preop, I can't tolerate them now. :/ I also use diluted Isopure Zero Carb RTD in place of regular water to get in more protein. Aside from those, I eat very clean. Thanks in advance!

    Thank you, LULULEMON!

Awesome!!!! Shopping at Lululemon is actually a goal of mine. Along with having the body that allows you to wear their pants in public. ???? I can't wait!!!

  13. Sexy AND Classy!! These are so tastefully done and you're absolutely stunning. Congratulations! Also, I love your hair!!
  14. I can't speak to her plan but I know my surgery plan included a 5 day liquid Preop diet with no pills and 2 week liquid PostOp with no pills. (Even prescription medications had to be crushed.)
  15. Yes! I was up and walking within a couple hours after surgery and every 2 hours after that- even during the night. The lingering pain isn't caused by trapped gas from what I understand. It's caused by the CO2 gas used to inflate your abdomen irritating the phrenic nerve. I finally started getting some relief on about Day 12! Good Luck with your surgery!
  16. Hey y'all!!! Newbie here! I'm 7 days post sleeve. Just wondering if anyone has any tips for preventing loose, saggy skin. Supplements, exercises, undergarments, anything. I know it's to be expected. I'm looking to lose between 100-120lbs. I've had 2 babies so I already have my fair share of loose skin and would really like to prevent the need for post loss surgery (although I'm definitely not ruling it out). I'm naturally narrow waisted so I carry all over. Upper arms, thighs, lower abdomen, neck, back (EEK!!) OH!! Hair loss! I know it's going to happen and it's to be expected. Anything I can do now to make it less dramatic? I have pretty thin hair as it is. Thanks for the help!

    Day 7

It's reminiscent of Chicken Broth. It's a combo chicken/beef/mushroom/onion broth. I'm gluten free/dairy free though so I can't do any of the canned, blended soups people talk about. I hope you find something that suits you!
  19. I had a hiatal hernia repair done as well. I'm sure you'll be fine. I'm actually surprised at how well I feel other than battling this gas pain. I really think "gas pain" isn't the right terminology at this point. It has to be some sort of phrenic nerve/diaphragm irritation. It is brutal though. I'm sitting here with heating pads on my shoulder and left diaphragm right now and I'm still hurting. My friend had the exact same surgeries with the same surgeon, facility, everything and she has been fantastic and pain free since Day 3 so you just never know.

    Day 7

Hi @@Jlwest! I'm on Day 8! My saving grace right now is Hibachi Soup (aka Japanese Onion Soup). My hubby orders it to go for me (without the garnishes) and it is sooooooo delicious! Not bland like most broths and I actually feel like I'm having real food. I hope you have a Hibachi restaurant nearby!

    GERD a problem for anyone?

Have you had an EGD yet? I had terrible heartburn and indigestion but was diagnosed with a hiatal hernia during my Preop process. They repaired the hernia at the same time they did my sleeve. I'm only 7 days out and still on liquids so I can't speak to the longevity but I haven't had an issue with acid at all this past week and it was still a daily occurrence on my liquid Preop diet.

Why Am I Dropping Weight So Slowly?

If it makes you feel any better, I'm 7 days out and have only lost 4 pounds. Disappointed but also trying to trust in the process. Also, I'm purposely trying to be mindful of my protein intake so that I don't muscle waste. We have to remember that the weight on the scale is just a number and not indicative of the whole picture. I was just thinking that surely 80% of my stomach weighs atleast a couple pounds! ????
  23. Are you running a temperature at all or have chills? When I spoke with my surgeon today about gas pains, these are the things he asked me and stated with worsening gas pain, I'd need a CTScan to check for a leak. With the introduction of new exercise today, I wouldn't panic but I'd definitely put in another call to your surgeon just to be on the safe side.

    24 hour post op misery

I spoke with my surgeon today and he said I can expect this to persist for 3 to 4 (up to 8!!!!) weeks. He recommending adding heating pads to my left shoulder and left upper quadrant (diaphragm area), continue Gas-X strips, continue pain meds (Tylenol with codeine) and to make sure I'm getting enough rest in addition to the walking. Also, if it gets worse, I need to come in for a CT Scan to check for leaks. (I'm not concerned about a leak at this point) Just wanted to update everyone in case anyone else is experiencing the same.
