My natural process for dealing with disappointment tends to be a day of dealing with the hurt feelings/disappointment and tomorrow I will be right as rain and continue on. It was just a brief glitch in the spectrum of all things. I have spent my whole life being criticized, bullied, and rejected on many fronts because of my outward appearance. I am working hard to realize that things are not always my fault. That is a steep, hard climb but I am trying. The only thing you did 'wrong' was too overestimate him after not much contact. When someone is in the middle of making a plan for the next day and, in the middle of the middle, says, "Oops, never mind," you know you've given him too much credit. His on-paper credentials may be solid, but there's a major piece missing. It is one of my failings. I always assume I did something wrong.

Truly, the Best. sleep. Ever. You won't remember a thing and will wake up back in your room. It feels like it was an instant.

Panic attacks, restless arm/leg issues
Yaberhoo replied to ed_nj's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
It could be due to the flood of hormones that have hit your system. Your fat cells store hormones so when you burn fat, it floods your system. You may also find yourself as moody as a 13 year old. It will pass. If you continue having issues, talk to your doctor. -
Whats your full signal?
Yaberhoo replied to Nurse_Lenora's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
I discovered my signal in my third week. One single hiccup. I call it my Off Button. If I hiccup twice, I'm in trouble because I ate too much and Runt is going to punish me. One hiccup and I push the plate away. -
Fat Acceptance Movement - how do you feel?
Yaberhoo replied to needtorecover's topic in Rants & Raves
For many years, obesity has been the only medical condition where it is socially acceptable to make fun of the afflicted. On the Biggest Loser, it's fun entertainment to humiliate fat people by making them run around a horse track and mock them when they fail. That's seen as good fun, but society would rightly have a fit if someone suggested a show where cancer patients compete for treatment. That double standard is wrong. I see it as more of a self acceptance movement. It's trying to say that you should feel good about yourself no matter your size. It's not about disregarding medical advice, or purposefully avoiding improving your health. You can love yourself for being you and not feel like a reject or outsider because you don't fit into an impossible social ideal. No one is encouraging people to get fat, no one is dissuading people from losing weight. People come in all shapes and sizes and that needs to be accepted without humiliation for not falling within a socially approved range. -
Chewing that much also has the benefit of making you eat slower. If it's chewed within an inch of it's life and you have only chewed 8 times, that's ok. Let it go down the hatch.

I went to Mexico and don't regret a second of it. Do your research and ask questions before making a final decision.

Hypochondriac or Problem?
Yaberhoo replied to MayMarie's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just wait unless the pain becomes severe. Its likely still gas or side effects of your position during surgery. -
You would know by now if you had a leak. You would be sick as a dog.

Super sore incisions
Yaberhoo replied to Deneshia Larkins's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also slept in a recliner for the first week. Then when I tried the bed I propped myself up with pillows. Clutch a pillow when standing if it helps. The only thing you can do is give it time. You had major surgery. It's gonna hurt. -
It is likely you just pulled your stitches. It is unlikely that your getting up from the couch caused a leak. You just pissed off your incisions. If you had a leak you would have a fever, possibly the shakes, vomiting, etc.
-
Very common. In the weeks after surgery it can be due to shock of surgery or the medications flushing from your system. After that it can be from simply having less insulation due to fat loss. I've always been hot blooded. I find myself reaching for a sweater more often.

My head is so foggy I can't get my **** together. Help, please?
Yaberhoo replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes, you will need to take an Iron supplement. I buy the iron free Multivitamins because my tummy can't handle the iron yet. I've tried a Vitamin with iron I was running to the bathroom to vomit within 30 seconds. That is the only time since surgery that I have vomited. Iron is notorious for upsetting our new tummies. -
Unflavored protein powder
Yaberhoo replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was asking about GENEPRO on here. Is there any taste? Does it mix well? I have a few varieties of Syntrax powders and they just don't seem to get smooth, no matter what temp I use. Right now I am using premier Protein ready to drink shakes. I don't do so well with protein and need/want something that completely disappears(or as much as possible). Thanks! There is a small taste as nothing is truly tasteless but it can be hidden. It mixes very well under 140 degrees. -
Dumb question - I hope it won't offend
Yaberhoo replied to TinyTink's topic in Mexico & Self-Pay Weight Loss Surgery
I had surgery in TJ in October. You need to stick with bottled Water. The hotel room I stayed in had a filtered water faucet for drinking. The water and ice chips in the hospital is filtered so you are ok with that. I wouldn't worry about taking water with you. It isn't worth the hassle and you can just buy it while there. -

First of all, be gentle to yourself during this hard time. You have just experienced a tragedy and you are in shock. Forgive yourself for being spacey and allow yourself to grieve. Protein. I hate all the Protein shakes I have tried so far. I use GENEPRO and mix it with sugar free hot chocolate or a cream based Soup. It's whey and unflavored (but not tasteless) so the milk based foods hide it better. You need to use a thermometer to keep the liquid below 140 degrees or the Proteins start to congeal like fried egg. Vitamins. I found a one a day Vitamin specifically for bariatric patients on Amazon. It's called Bariatric Once-A-Day by Prohealth. -
I decided that an hour massage is my reward for making mini goals. I scheduled one right after I hit 50 lbs down but had to cancel it when I suffered a concussion two days before the appointment. I can't wait to do it and have been needling my chiropractor to clear me I finally found a massage therapist that really digs in and works the muscles. I think I proposed to her twice the last time she gave me a massage.

Unflavored protein powder
Yaberhoo replied to glitterpockets's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can't stand any of the Protein shakes I've tried. Instead I use GENEPRO and mix it with sugar free hot chocolate or cream soups. Since it is unflavored whey Protein Powder, it mixes well in milk based foods. Plus the hot chocolate is a treat! -

Morning tummy is smaller?
Yaberhoo replied to Emilie.Lancaster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe it has to do with acid? -
Nip that in the bud now. You need to follow your plan to the letter while you heal. Find another way to get potein in other than shakes. Dont set yourself up for failure or worse. You can do this.

Multivitamin with iron
Yaberhoo replied to kimb926's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Careful, Multivitamins with Iron are notorious for making people sick to their stomach. The one and only time I have vomited since having surgery was 30 seconds after taking a barimelt Multivitamin. It was hard to be dignified at work sprinting as fast as I could to the bathroom. -
I did for about 2 weeks post surgery. So did another lady who had surgery same day. It is normal healing/freak out and will taper off soon.
