Hi!  My story isn't all that different from many of you.  I've always lived my life as an overweight person.  I was always the "heavy sister with the pretty face". I've been on every known diet to man (starting at the age of 8), worked out, and my weight has always yo-yo'ed.  Sound familiar?  Finally, after 41 years, I decided after talking to a friend who had had LapBand surgery, to have the surgery.  I was scared that people would think I was taking the easy way out.  But, my friends and family were so supportive and encouraging.  I found my doctor, had my surgery and within a year had lost 60 pounds.  Two years out, I'm now up 20 pounds and super frustrated.  I've always known this wasn't the magic bullet, but I'm disappointed in myself that I've let weight come back on.  Last year, I started a new job where I'm much less active during the day and around food all the time.  I'm getting "back on the horse" so to say and trying to follow what I did in the beginning...exercising, limiting carbs, high protein, etc...At this point, I must admit that I'm too embarrassed to go back to my doctor.  A friend of mine who had bypass surgery last year suggested that I join Bariatric Pal.  So...here I am. Hoping for some accountability as well as support from those who've been there.
