I am in the same boat. I had surgery on June 22nd and am losing my hair like crazy mad. Its horrible. I called my nut and she said to make sure I am getting in all my Vitamins and plenty of Protein and to take Biotin. Hopefully it helps. My hair is falling out my the handful -

CANDI254 replied to Nikkip35's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Thinside I don't use powder I use GNC ready made and just use it like a creamer. Tastes really good. I also have used the Adkins Mocha before but doesn't have as many grams of Protein. -

Sugar free, carbonation free drinks
CANDI254 replied to Tssiemer1's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
@Tssiemer1 WHEN I GO OUT I WILL TAKE A PACK OF CYRSTAL LIGHT WITH ME AND ADD IT TO THE Water. IVE NEVER HAD ANYONE LOOK AT ME FUNNY OR SAY ANYTHING. iVE ALSO SEEN A LADY I WORK WITH ORDER WATER AND ABOUT 6 LEMON PIECES ADD SPLENDA AND MAKE HER OWN VERSION OF LEMONAID . I DO NOT DRINK WHILE I EAT BUT I DO GO TO RESTAURANTS AND NOT EAT ONLY DRINK. ( LIKE WHEN OTHERS ARE HUNGRY BUT I AM NOT. ) AND ITS NICE TO HAVE SOMETHING OTHER THAN WATER TO DRINK. -
I was just talking to my co workers about the fact that at this point I am so unhappy with myself. I wish I had not got the surgery done. Then I came in the office and saw this post. I know (orat least hope) that a few months from now when I can see the weight lose I will be happy with the choice but right now I just want a 32oz of soda or shoot just Water and be able to drink it without being in pain. I am so tired of always hurting when I eat or drink anything.

@@D. Kennedy I could not do the protein shakes either. I found Isopure is the best for me. It has 40 grams of protein per bottle. I pure a little in a glass of ice let it melt some and that helps the taste.

how far out are you? I am 9 weeks out but my nut told me 2oz at a time.

CANDI254 replied to Licia2210's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 9 weeks out and I would have not have done the surgery if I knew that I would be going through so much after the surgery.(3 surgeries in 9 weeks) I am glad I didn't know cause I think I am glad I had the surgery but honestly I am not sure yet. -
Ok, so sorry in advance for this.... I know it doesn't really have anything to do with WLS but I am so annoyed right now. I had the sleeve surgery done on June 22nd (awesome so glad I did). But then 5 weeks later had to have my gallbladder taken out. And now 4 weeks later I get to have another surgery. Yay me! At least its not on my stomach area this time. Its just to remove a tumor from my wrist but dude Im so tired of surgery's. I use to think I wanted a boob job but now I think I like these babies just the way they are. I am so tired of having surgery. Ok done with the venting. Thanks for reading.

@@pumpkinseed29 Yeah, my doc says that about 80% of WLS patients gallbladders go bad after surgery.
-
Thanks, I hope this is the last one too, but the surgeon says I will prob need many more to come on my wrist.

THE 3 WEEK STALL SEEMS TO JUST BE SOMETHING THAT HAPPENS BUT YES IF YOU INCREASE YOUR CALORIES SOME IT SHOULD HELP. YOUR BODY GETS USE TO ONLY HAVING 600 CALORIES SO IT STARTS TO TRY AND STORE THEM. IF YOU GIVE IT A LITTLE MORE IT SHOULD START BURNING THEM AGAIN AND YOU SHOULD START LOSING AGAIN.

Constant nausea... Need help
CANDI254 replied to Kisha Fields's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgeon said that about 65% of WLS patients gallbladder s go bad and have to hav removed then after he took it out told me having your gallbladder removed increases your chances of gaining wait back about 18 months out. -
I now want some cucumbers with salsa

I am 7 weeks post op and I haven't met my Protein requirement any out of those 7 weeks. I was really sick until this week so am just now being able to take my Vitamins but Protein drinks are still not something I can keep down. I have tried many different ones. Anyone else having this issue or any ideas?
-
I wanted to say thanks a bunch for the isopure suggestion. This drink is awesome and has helped me out so much. I find myself craving them if I go a day or two without it. And my nails are growing back and my hair has stopped falling out so that is awesome.

Constant nausea... Need help
CANDI254 replied to Kisha Fields's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I HAD THAT PROBLEM AND REALLY BAD SIDE PAIN. TURNS OUT IT WAS MY GALLBLADDER THAT WAS CAUSING EVERYTHING. THE ONLY THING I COULD HAVE FOR ABOUT 2 WEEKS WERE SMOOTHIES AND THEY SEEMED TO HELP A LOT. -
I know you said someone who has used them and I have not. But Garmin has swim watches. That's actually what they are made for so you might wanna look into them.
-
I have found that ice makes me really happy.

If you work out like a warrior then it probably has a lot to do with you are losing fat and gaining muscles. Muscles weigh a lot so they slow the process of the number on the scale going down but speed up the process of us having rockin bodies. I chose not to step on the evil scale until doctors apts. I do however measure myself every other day. That way I can see it is working I am losing inches. And that to me is the most important part. I had a friend in school who weighed about 15 pounds less than me was the same height and wore a size bigger than me. Its just how are bodies are. I try and tell myself your weight isn't as important as your pants size. I would love to weigh 145 but if I am 155 in a size 8 I am gonna be happy. so the size 8 is my goal not the 145. but yes I understand where you are coming from. I went to the doctor today and am only down 4 more pounds was hoping for more.
-
Yeah yeah I know. And its a total of 43 pounds in 2months ut still. Never happy with what one has and he told me since I had my gallbladder out I could start gaining back. Why the heck is that???!!!!!

I have had many ups and downs after this surgery. Was completely sick for the first couple weeks then on week 5 had my gallbladder taken out. could not eat for a week after that. My hair is was falling out and my nails were breaking off. Now I am where I can eat and drink and take vitamins like I am suppose to. So hopefully all of that will get better. But the not being able to drink while you eat is freaking killing me. I am one who chokes very easy and I would take a sip of drink (Water, tea, whatever) anytime I ate anything. Now I can not drink anything while I eat and I can not stand it. And yes I knew this before the surgery and I knew this would be my biggest problem but I just wanted to vent for a second so there I did it. And another thing............. how is it anyone else's business at the restaurant if I do not have a drink or if Im taking small bites and then do not eat but 3 bites of my food. Hey strange dude that I do not know. You did not pay for my food I did. If I wanna only take 3 bites then that's what Ill do. (I did not waste it, I did give to hubby)

only 4 pounds in 2 weeks.
