    Initial Consultation

I called and made an appointment for a day I would be off from work so I think it was like a week. But there was no requirement of a informational session before making an appointment so that may change the game a bit!

    Why Oh Why?

Whatever you do FAST FOR THE LAB WORK!! In the hospital when a patient is going to have cholesterol etc drawn in the AM we tell them nothing by mouth except for Water from after dinner the night before until labs are drawn. So after dinner tonight nothing except water until after labs are drawn. It will help you get an accurate result. Eating anything can make it artificially high. Good luck!

    PCP Visit To Discuss WLS

If you haven't already you can call your insurance company and request a Bariatric surgery informational packet. It should tell you the requirements you need to meet for them to approve you. I should also say that not all insurance companies have a Bariatric information packet but a lot do its it might be worth a call!
  10. I just downloaded the Poshmark app. Just curious if anyone else is using it and if so what your name is so I can link to your page I'm chicago_nurse

    PCP Visit To Discuss WLS

Congratulations! So happy and excited for you!!!!
  12. If you skip and and develop and blood clot it could travel and that's BAD! To your brain and cause a stroke, to your lungs etc..... And if you develop and clot you will be hospitalized and then at home you will be giving yourself the injections for months until it resolves. Sorry for the alarmist stuff but it's the nurse in me! Want to make injections easier? When you prep your skin pinch the skin and then with the alcohol pad RUB HARD! Circular motion for a minute or two...it not only cleanses the skin well but it will act as a topical numbing and then stick fast and push plunger down fast....that's the best way I have found to give things like Lovenox. My patients always say they never feel it when I do it that way. Good luck but please please inject it!
  13. I have only told my partner, honestly she is the only one who really needs to know. It's no ones business how or even if I lose weight. Best way to avoid negative feedback is to not give them the info in the first place. ????
  14. Not to be rude but she loved you no matter your weight but you can not do the same?? Sounds pretty selfish to me....
  15. Are they considering an auto immune cause? The stress of surgery could have triggered an auto immune response. I have also seen wide spread neuropathy with food allergies...I personally know someone who had very similar neuropathy symptoms and was diagnosed with a corn allergy. After eliminating corn she is much better. So sorry you are having so many issues....but good luck pinpointing the cause

    HELP! RE: psych eval ????

I used www.bariatricpsychevaluations.com Super easy....you go to their site, fill out the application giving them your insurance info and answer a questionnaire. Pick a time and date for your eval (phone call). They will contact you and let you know if your insurance covers your eval or if you need to pay out of pocket. OOP is a flat $100 fee. Then they call you on your scheduled date/time to complete your eval. Uber simple and I even did my eval at 8pm ! Good luck!

I'm looking at surgery in January and I could not be more excited with my choice, confident in my surgeon and hospital and reassured by the entire team that runs my program. Good luck!
