Very Sedentary for Years... How do I start?
JupiterinVirgo replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in Fitness & Exercise
Thank you all so much. This is a huge help. -
I'm 26 pounds down over six weeks, and still very heavy. I work online all day, and have been very sedentary for many years. Because of that, I feel like my knees are okay and I'm afraid of stressing them with extra walking etc at this weight, bit want to increase the speed of my weight loss. My caloric intake is still quite low, and exertion seems to increase major energy crashes. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I am starting a new job 10 days after surgery, any suggestions?
JupiterinVirgo replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Energy can be pretty low in that time frame so be sure you are prepared to care deeply for yourself, even at work. Make sure you have all the fluid and mushies intake you need as often as you need to keep your energy stable. If it's physically strenuous you might have a tougher time Bc your caloric intake is so low and your body will be delegating its resources to healing your stomach and incisions, and flushing out fat and drugs from the hospital. -
when do you feel normal eating again (small portions still)?
JupiterinVirgo replied to denisa's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm a month out and find eating feels normalish if I don't eat too much or too fast and the food isn't abrasive to my sleeve or too fatty. -

I have read people getting a "drain", does everyone get a "drain"
JupiterinVirgo replied to Scottyd1264's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Nope. My surgeon didn't use them. -
I love the vitamin patches! All of the chewable vitamin brands my program allows are gmo! I don't want that, so I use the patches which don't irritate my sleeve.

Mentor/Sleeve Buddy in the Philadelphia Area?
JupiterinVirgo posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I'm still waiting in my approval and surgery date but I know I would benefit from the experience of someone who has already regained their footing after surgery. I despise the therapist that runs the monthly support group at my local hospital, so I'm looking for someone who might be willing to support me through the transitional period just before and a couple months after surgery. I'm sure lots of questions will arise, and my hospital is inhospitable, slow to make appointments and generally unpleasant, so I know that I won't be leaning on them very much after my wounds have healed. Chestnut Hill/Mt Airy area. -

Do you eat when you're hungry?
JupiterinVirgo posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My plan calls for eating two ounces of food three times daily, but I don't feel it's enough. Having bouts of sudden and debilitating weakness that comes on suddenly. I can't tolerate protein shakes. Do you eat more often? How does it effect your weight loss? -
Do colonics help you lose weight?
JupiterinVirgo posted a topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Like most people, the idea of colonics make me squirm, but I can't help thinking that after decades of really unhealthy food choices, hosing out the sludge can't hurt. I've also read that it helps detox which aids weight loss. Anyone have any experience to share? Do colonics help you lose weight? -

Feeling Guilty About Not Telling My Obese Friends
JupiterinVirgo replied to sleevedup's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Of course you are entitled to keep your secret, without feeling guilty. Our bodies are extremely personal space. That said, I would just like to share that I never thought, in a million years, I would have WLS, but then my sister had it. And I saw her succeeding. I saw she was healthier. Happier. I never personally knew anyone who did it, and once I did, that's what made me take the plunge. -
Sudden Dizziness and Weakness with no Warning
JupiterinVirgo posted a topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I was sleeved three weeks ago. I am allowed wet foods, but only three times a day. Whenever I exert myself, for instance, going grocery shopping, I become suddenly very weak and feel like I'm going to fall over. Does this happen to you? Is it blood sugar? How do you prevent this? -

Sudden Dizziness and Weakness with no Warning
JupiterinVirgo replied to JupiterinVirgo's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Thank you for responding. No it's not specific to standing up. I think I just use up all my fuel and when I hit empty it's too late. I feel I should be eating more often, if I want to function. Protein shakes are not my friend. My sleeve doesn't tolerate them. -

Probably fungal. I use a topical cream for symptoms similar to yours.

Love extensions but they weigh on your hair/put stress tension on it. I used to wear them all the time. The tape in kind I've not tried because of the expense but if your hair can take it, extensions can be beautiful.
