No restriction eating more than should help

I am also in the same boat. Although I have no idea how much is in my band and when I asked the doctor told me he doesn't keep track, he just pays attention to how the band is feeling when he gives me a fill. I am 1 1/2 year out from surgery and got fills religiously for the first year. I just went back for a fill this week and the doctor told me that he was getting a little bit of push back and could feel that the band was filled. I feel a little bit of difference but I am only two days out and worry that it will be like every other time where I feel some restriction and then it seems to go away. I am not saying that I am super good at eating, but my understanding was that this would help me know when to stop eating and let me feel full for longer. Hasn't happened yet, guess we will wait and see. An example I ate one serving of oatmeal this morning (mushy food) and my stomach was growling two hours later. Frustrated. -
It isn't, but it is closer to where my bra band sits, so maybe that is where the tenderness is coming from. Sent from my iPhone using the BariatricPal App

I have been banded for just about a year and have received fills almost every month since being banded. I have noticed and don't always give a whole lot of thought to it, but sometimes after eating my port will be tender. Often I will get up and walk around or stretch to try and make it more comfortable. It doesn't hurt necessarily, it is just a strange feeling. Does anyone else get this or know why this happens? I'm not sure that it has so much to do with the lap band, but more to do with surgery itself. I have done quite a bit of reading on the Internet and I have basically learned that it doesn't happen to everyone and that your hair basically cycles really fast. I have been losing my hair for about the last two months. I was banded on 7/20 and I am hoping that it ends soon. I watch my hair loss almost as much as I watch the scale. I often wish that I was losing weight as fast as my hair was falling out, lol.

Thanks for the reply! I go in this next week for another fill, so I think I will talk with the doc about what you have discussed in your reply. My meals generally are yogurt and scrambled eggs for breakfast, a weight watchers frozen meal for lunch, and dinner popcorn chicken and some fries. I do not snack throughout the day and I generally get in 100 oz of water a day.

I was banded in July 2015 and have had a fill every month since then. The last two times I went in for a fill my band would not allow all of the fluid and would give the Dr push back. I do not feel any real restriction and I am able to eat far larger portions than I should be able to with the band. Why is my band not allowing all of the fill? Anyone had something similar? I am worried that something is broke ????

Thanks everyone for the encouraging words. It always helps to hear from people who have been there done that ????

I have never written before, but have read through many of the posts. I was banded on July 21st and weight loss has been elusive. I lost about 15 lbs on the liver shrinking diet and then nothing until last week. Last week I lost 7 lbs, but this week the scale is either slowly going up or staying the same. I usually have a Protein shake for Breakfast and a Protein Bar for lunch and then try some type of meat for dinner. I had my first fill last week of 3 cc's. I am not sure what I am doing wrong, but I feel like something isn't working. Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
