I have tried gas x and they seem to help with the gas and bloating. I am going to try some milk of magnesia tonight bc I have yet to go to the bathroom. (TMI ???? sorry)

I take one at a time as needed. My doctor's office time me I could take up to four a day. I agree the 4 oz is a lot bc as soon as my stomach feels a little better in filling it up and getting bloated again. I'm sure it will pass once the swelling in our stomach goes down.

I tried the gas x strips and they have helped a lot! I still feel a little bloated but I think that is probably normal. It may be a feeling of fullness? I keep telling myself it's only our 4th day after surgery. From the sounds of it, it seems we're all doing pretty well so far. Each day seems to be getting better. I do get pains in my stomach after I drink water or protein. Hoping that gets better. I start full liquids tomorrow. Not sure if I will try something or just stick with protein and water for a few more days.

Hi everyone. Is anyone having trouble with gas pain. It's in my abdomen area and is killing me. I feel so bloated. It's not longer in my back or shoulders just there. Going to try some gas x strips. Other than that I fe great. I really have to force my protein drink but it seems to hurt when I drink it.

That's great. I think I'm going home Tuesday evening. Have you had anything to drink? I start some liquids today.

If I wasn't walking I was sleeping. I was falling asleep sitting up. Well I thought I was superwoman and because I felt good, I didn't ask for more pain meds. Not a good idea. Now I'm so sore and it feels like the pain medicine they gave me just didn't cut it.

Hi just checking in to see how everyone is feeling. I have been walking a lot today. The gas is pretty annoying. Right now it feels like it's in my upper abdomen. It was in my back earlier. Pain is not too bad. Just very sore getting in and out of bed. Haven't had anything to drink yet. Just some water on a sponge. Had some nausea earlier in the day but that seems to have gone away for now. Hope everyone is doing well. Hang in there!

Hi..new to the group. I am scheduled for the 30th also. I am excited but sooo nervous. I have doubted my decision to have this a few times during my pre-op probably because I was hungry or watching my husband and daughter eating. I know these feelings are normal and I know this is the right choice. I have read a lot of stories on here with people dealing with complications and I'm glad I read them so that I can be informed as much as possible but lately I have been trying to stick to success stories only because otherwise my brain starts spinning!
