NSV - underwear
krista132 replied to Inner Surfer Girl's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Isn't it the best when you get to go buy things that fit? So fun going DOWN in sizes for once! -
Congratulations! Isn't it crazy that the things that we had to think about we don't anymore? That you are so comfortable being the "new you" that you forgot about your 1 year surgiversary? So exciting! Congrats on your progress so far and good luck in your continued success!

Congrats! Isnt it a great feeling to honestly feel "great"!

Probably a dumb question but....
krista132 replied to Ilovecats1985's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
On those hot summer days, I longed for being able to gulp, but it is just fine without it. I am 6 months post op and drink larger sips of water than after post surgery, but probably never again as I used to. But, it becomes the new normal. -
Six months down, 100 lbs lost!

NSV - My smaller jeans are saggy in the butt!
krista132 replied to sharkgirl's topic in The Gals' Room
Wouldn't it be amazing if we could put a list in order and weight loss would go through our "wish list" of priorities! But, we take what we get. Its all good! -
Hi! I think that you are doing the right thing by coming on the forums. The people who have had this surgery for a while can probably help you a lot more than I can, however, I will try. I did a lot of research prior to my surgery and had questions as well. I would recommend doing research yourself too. As far as what my surgeon has told me (although I never had the thought of being afraid to be too skinny) is that your body will plateau at a certain point. It is up to you if you want to push that more or less. However, I cant imagine that it would ever get to the point of being sickly looking. As you will find in this forum, everyone believes strongly in this surgery. Make the decision for you, not anyone else and if they think that you can "do it on your own". Hope this helps. Good luck!

Weight loss has just STOPPED!
krista132 replied to crissylynn82's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I understand your pain! I have been in the same boat for the last few weeks. I have lost 95 lbs in 6 months since my surgery and it has always come off consistently, and then for the last few weeks, it has just stopped. I know its hard, but keep at it. Try and let yourself not think about it constantly (which I know is hard). As others said above, try giving yourself a break with the gym and cut out a couple of the carbs and see if that helps. I am trying the same things. Good luck! -
Miserable in need of some great help
krista132 replied to justthebeginning's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
Try adding more water to your protein. Im not a fan of the thick protein shakes, so I mix my protein with 24 oz of water. Doesn't matter how much water you mix in as long as you are drinking it all. Also, try different brands of protein. Good luck! -
Congrats! So exciting for you! Keep it up!

7 Months Post-Op: Everything going great
krista132 replied to JPacella's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Congrats to you! What an amazing journey you have had so far. And working out for an hour a day every day?? Ok, you have inspired me to get off my ass and start working out more!! -
As others have said above, everyone heals differently. I took 5 days off work and then realized I needed a few more and took 3 additional days off. I work a desk job as well and was fine to go back after that. Just listen to your body. You will know when you are ready.

Burps and Bubbles and Gurgles Oh My!
krista132 replied to Nikki Monroe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 6 months out and still get the gurgles when I drink fluids. It gets less but im pretty sure we will all have them forever. Not a bad trade off though. -
Had surgery yesterday
krista132 replied to BairwithMe's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sorry things didn't work out as planned. Once you get home, you will feel much better. And then, you are on the track for your new life, which is very exciting. Stay positive and get better! -
I would definitely focus on your protein. But, as others have mentioned, it is all part of the process. I think that we have all experienced something like this. Mine breaks like crazy these days. But, it will get better. I would rather have less hair and less fat!

Congrats on your new adventure! You have made such great progress already!

Almost 7 months out and 80#'s down!
krista132 replied to kellmark's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
That's amazing! Congrats! -
So, I am 6 months post op and feeling great! I know what I have accomplished this far is amazing but for the last month, I have seen very little to no progress in my weight loss. I am still focusing on eating the right things, but I admit some have fallen to the wayside. I haven't been drinking my Protein shakes, but still focus on my protein intake with food. I work out maybe once or twice a week, but know that I can increase that as well. So, I guess I need a kick in the ass to get on it again. Is this common to slow down at the 6 month mark? I know everyone is different and I can get back on a better track. For the most part, I feel confident in the things that I am doing, but just need some good, honest advice to how I can get this going again!

Like many others have mentioned, I am all about my crock pot these days. Its so easy and has so many options. One of my favorites is baking chicken in the crock pot. Once it is completely cooked, I shred it with a fork. Add a splash of olive oil, a little bit of garlic salt and mix it all together. Turns out great, has plenty of flavor, and is low fat.

So true @@AngelaWilliamsMD I do think that the "honeymoon" phase is over, so now the true test of what I do with this is starting. I just needed to be reminded of that again. And, yes increasing my activity I think is exactly what I need to do! Thanks!

Thanks @@Inner Surfer Girl that post that you sent the link for is amazing! Like I said, I know that there are some things that I can kick up a notch, and definitely am proud of where I have come from. I liked that your post mentioned moaning over these things because you are SO RIGHT! I needed to focus more on that. So, thank you!

No longer morbidly obese!
krista132 replied to nomilktoday's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Congrats! Its things like that, that mean the most! -
I remember in the beginning it felt like work to just blow dry my hair. I knew at that point how crucial it was to get my protein in. Try increasing your protein. It will give you the natural energy that you need. And it will get easier as the weeks go on. You just had major surgery, so your body is in panic mode right now. Let it recover!
