  1. I had my surgery on August 4 (a little over 5 weeks out), and I'm down 34 pounds, but I'm at a plateau. I DO NOT LIKE THIS!! When will it end?!? Oh the horror!!
  2. Hi all, I wanted to ask if anyone ever felt like they have not had an appetite? I've been feeling this way for the past couple of days, and wanted to know if this is normal. Thanks.

    No Appetite

I'm almost 6 weeks post op, and don't have the urge to eat. I'm getting a little hungry but it goes away quickly.

    The 'good ol' plateau!

You're right, I'll have to be patient and take one day at time. It's just that I read in the forums that people lose so much in 3 mos. and I'm so ready for that! Good luck to you, Niki15
  5. I was told that you're fastest and most weight loss is between 3-6 months.
  6. Good morning, I wanted to get some advice from you all. I'm still self conscious. I really would like to go swimming, plus it's a great exercise. But what can I wear to swim and not look like a fool? Thanks

    Fish - Dumping

It could have been the seasoning on the fish that made you sick.
  8. Are any of you having off the wall crazy dreams after you had your surgery? I have at least 3 dreams a night and I'm not getting any good rest. I had a dream that my mom was feeding me Peanut Butter, I had a dream about a man falling in love with a robot, a dream about me eating an apple, a dream about me watching this really good movie ...and the list goes on!

    Popcorn

I was told i could eat popcorn 6 weeks out ...and can't wait!
  10. Hi all, Silly question, but when is it ok to drink from a straw?
  11. Ok, in my guide book it states that I can drink caffeine around 3-4 weeks post. I'm dying for a coke or a Coke Zero ????????. My question is, do you think it's best to dilute it?
  12. Hi guys, I keep vomiting stomach acid. Anyone had this problem? My mom says I'm not eating so this is why. Nine times out of 10, I really am not hungry.
  13. @SleevenChica: With my sleeve, I was out 3 weeks and felt great going back to work. With this surgery, I was out for 4 weeks. My stomach was hurting due to gas and constipation ...which is something I'm still dealing with and I had my surgery on August 4. I have my days with being tired and fatigued, but other than that I am ok.

    RNY

My surgery was 08/04/2015 and I've lost 33 lbs.

    RNY

Is PB2 good? I asked my nutritionist if I could have peanut butter (which I absolutely love peanut butter), and she told me yes but to try PB2 first. I was a little hesitant because it's powder.

    Preop "the last supper"

Eat and drink everything you want before surgery! I remember I had Mexican food, sodas, strawberry and banana daiquiri, and frozen yogurt. And man was it ALL good lol! Good luck!
  17. @SleevenChica: You will do fine. I had my sleeve surgery in 2013 and a revision; RNY, just a month ago. For me, it feels totally different from the sleeve because with the sleeve I was able to do more in a short time. But I'm still getting used to the RNY. Good luck!
  18. Tell them that you are having surgery, and let that be the end of that. Where I work, we have the union and our supervisor cannot ask us anything beyond that. Have your doctor write you an excuse and ask if they can leave off details that states you are having bariatric surgery. It's your personal health information (HIPPA law).
  19. If you are a month post op you can probably get most, if not all of your protein from food. You don't have to have protein supplements. Salad doesn't have protein and is probably too hard to digest this early out (if by salad you mean lettuce and other raw, leafy vegetables). Can you eat Greek yogurt, tuna, turkey, cottage, cheese, etc? All of these foods are good sources of protein. You have to get enough protein to both heal and lose weight. What does your NUT advise? eggs are a good source of protein, too. I just had an turkey and cheese omlet for Breakfast ...and it was good!
  20. Hi, I was wondering if anyone has heard any gastric bypass failure stories from anyone toy may know. It crossed my mind and thought it would be an interesting topic.
  21. OK, so I've tried skim milk, almond milk and lactose free milk and all do not agree with my stomach. Help!
  22. Good afternoon guys, For those of you who are months out, I just want to know when will I begin to feel like my old self again? My stomach craps and I am fatigue. I just want to go back to how I used to feel. Thanks
  23. Hello, @Catwoman7: The only Protein I've been using is unjury (chocolate Splendor). I haven't thought about that. I have tried Premier Protein (only the strawberry), but it leaves an after taste. @Ginger8: No, I have not tried the Fairlife milk. Is it good?
