It's 11pm, does anyone know where Runner1 is? Yes, that's her lying in bed trying desperately to fall asleep, counting sheep, thinking of being on a white sandy beach somewhere, anything to relax her, but to no avail! Let's all join in prayer for her that A) she falls off into a restful, blissful sleep, and Her surgery goes well and she is home recuperating in no time! Our thoughts are with you Runner! Sending you hugs OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Goodnight! -
Hi Anna! Don't let your post surgery emotions get the best of you! Your body just went thru major surgery, and it will take time for it to feel as it did before. In the meantime, it is trying to figure out "Where the heck did the other 3/4 of my stomach go? It was just right here! I hate when I can't find something I'm looking for!" and it is sending mixed messages to the brain. Five months from now you will be so excited over your new body that the memory of this past month will be replaced with thoughts of "Wow, I look HOT! What surgery?". LOL We are all here for you whenever you need us to get you thru the bad times! I'm sending you some hugs OOOOOOOOOOOO!

My insurance requires three months of nutrition counseling, at one visit per month. That gives me time to make sure all the needed tests, bloodwork, psych apt, chest xray, etc are done by my last NUT appt, so then the Dr can submit for final approval from insurance and then they said maybe a month from there before I get my surgery. I understand your anxiousness, I'm experiencing that too!

Welcome KHottAZ! I bought the big book as well, and am half way thru. It is full of information on the sleeve! So much so, that when I saw my internist he said "boy, you already know much of what I was going to tell you", and I told him about the book which he wasn't aware of but said now he can advise patients if they want to buy it. I have also learned so much from my brother and sister sleever's on this website. The book cannot answer all the questions floating in my head so it is nice to have people to ask about things that have gone thru it. You will come to love this site as part of an extended family so to speak. They are there to support you thru the good and the bad without judging, to lend an ear or shoulder if you are sad or happy and just want to share in an anonymous way. I won't see surgery until probably January. So again, we all welcome you! -

Hi Dream_small, you are correct. The results of the sample showed no active H-Pylori, so no antibiotics needed thank goodness! I had my first NUT appt and had lost 6 lbs from when I was in the office 8 days prior so she was pretty happy! I'm only 12 lbs away from my needed 18 lb loss for surgery. Mouse, I hope you are recovering well after your surgery! Prayers for everyone pre-op or post-op! -
Anyone have a recipe for sugar free pumpkin pie?
katladee posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi! I am pre-op but am hoping someone post-op may have a recipe for sugar free pumpkin pie to get me thru the holidays. I am not doing a crust either, just baking the filling in a small dish for myself so that I don't feel left out as everyone else is eating their pie and whipped cream! LOL Thank you! -

Elode, jjmama, Blerdgirl, and marandogs, thank you all soooo much! I never thought of Pintrest. I have an account there but rarely use it. It was mostly for crafts. Marandogs, do you mind sharing your crust recipe? Thanks again everyone!! -
Help! Can someone help me interpret my SPD?
katladee replied to Louky's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
My Dr just documented what I told him I had tried for weight loss in the last year, i.e. counting calories, Jenny Craig, Weight Watcher's, South Beach Diet, diet shakes, etc. -
OKC, you have a very handsome son! Congrat's on your NSV!

Well said Jeffery! I have only told my fiance, two of my closest friends, a cousin, and my 2 adult children. No one else needs to know my personal business. I agree with Jeffery that when the weight starts falling off I will say that I finally made a life decision to change my eating habits and lose the weight for my health. Everyone knows I am diabetic so they will be happy if I am able to go off my med's after surgery. Best of luck in whatever decision you make, and during your weight loss process!

Elode, your picture inspires me so much! I keep looking at it and trying to picture myself at that weight! You are stunning my friend! I can't say congratulations enough!
-
That's hysterical, Elode! You must feel like a teenager yourself again! Just don't throw your back out doing the booty dance/twerking thing! LOL
-
Hi Laura! Sorry just responding, I had family visiting and family member in the hospital so I was running back and forth like a mad woman! My surgery probably will be in January. My first NUT visit is Friday. I hope you are still doing well since your surgery!

Hi Tracy and Mouse! Mouse, good luck tomorrow! Maybe with the pain meds they will give you for your surgery it will decrease your back pain and you will be the good patient! LOL Keep in touch and let us know how it goes! I'm always anxious to hear about everyone's surgery so I stay informed of what to expect. -

Welcome Kim! I added you as a friend! I hope all goes well for your surgery and weight loss. Megan, thanks for sharing your life with us. I want to say how sorry I am that you had to go thru the loss of a pregnancy. It's not an easy thing to get thru when you want children so badly. I will pray that this happens for you. Today my surgeon's office called to say I tested positive for the H-Pylori, so now I have to do a stool sample (TMI, I'm sorry) and if it is still positive then they will treat it with two weeks of antibiotics. Anyone else have this problem? -

Hi Megan, Lisa and Mom! I am also a newbie to WLS. I probably won't have mine done until January. My insurance requires 3 mos of nutritional counseling. I don't have the first one until 10/2. I joined BP because I needed all the information I could find on the sleeve. Pre-op, post-op, and after a year on what to expect, what people are eating, and just for support as well! Feel free to add me as a friend as we go on this journey together, sharing stories, fears and successes! Just call me Kat! Good luck to you guy's! -
