I'm 7 weeks post op and every night I wake up to horrible pain in my left hip. If I lay on my right side it hurts and I roll over and it's okay. It will wake me up from a dead sleep. Has anyone else experienced this?

The hospital made me do a suppository the day before I was released. Like literally the nurse did it. It was embarrassing lol. -
How do you handle eating socially post op?
Twinmomma422 replied to nyjocool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That soon after surgery you will prob be on purées or soft foods depending on your plan. I've noticed almost everyone is different lol. We've had cookouts, and went out to eat since a few days post op. I stick to my plan and everyone supports me. We had a friend have a BBQ at their house just a week post op and she made me some broth with out even saying anything. Now that I'm almost 7 weeks post op I still stick to my own but now it's easier. I can eat lean ground meats and steamed veggies or Beans. So I make that as part as our meal. I'll order chili or other soft foods when out to eat. I've lost 43lbs (including 9lbs from 10 day pre diet) -
Still Draining and pain 1 week post op.
Twinmomma422 replied to Miracle's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Mine was the same way. After about 10 days or so it stopped and started healing. Then of course itching, I ended up scratching it in my sleep and woke up bleeding lol. Nothing major of course just like a scab, but definitely woke me up from a dead sleep. -
I have BCBS of IL also and it took about a day and a half lol. Very quick

I'm not much on yogurt, but I did stumble on that Oikos Triple Zero Greek stuff during the months leading up to my pre-op diet. I stress that I don't care for yogurt in general.....but this stuff is great. I'm glad I found out about it. It needs nothing extra to taste really good. My husband who hasn't had any surgery and isn't overweight (brat lol). Loves the triple zero yogurt too. He actually likes almost all the "healthy" food that I'm eating also. Like the veggie chips (pre op) even my broth I drank lol. veggie chips? Do you make them or buy them I'm trying to healthy stuff I like ..it's a process These were before surgery. They were the Veggie Straws from the grocery store. I'll be 7 weeks this Wednesday and should be released to eat home made veggie chips! (Hopefully) lol!!

It's normal. I was the same way. I found that if I held my hand on it and pushed a little when I moved it helped. After a couple weeks it went away.

I ate the pintos and cheese from Taco Bell multiple times and had no issues. I meet my husband for lunch everyday and TB is one of the closest a places. I can handle about half a bowl and then I'm full but have no issues at all!

has anyone found a DR or program you don't have to lose a ton of preweight (newenglad, MA, NH)
Twinmomma422 replied to viaasskick's topic in Weight Loss Surgeons & Hospitals
I'm in Oklahoma and had my surgery 9/9 (6 weeks today!!) and I didn't have to lose anything. I started at 319lbs. I think it has to do with the dr and your insurance if you have it. A friend of mine is in Florida and her dr and insurance wants her to lose 25lbs before surgery but aren't too strict on it they said. If she looses like 15-20lbs they will still do surgery. -
I've found I can only eat the oikos triple 0 peach or strawberry. I can not stand any other flavors lol. I just tasted a few until I found the ones I could stand.

OMG how in the hell do people drink this?!?
Twinmomma422 replied to Sajijoma's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I just bought some of the isopure drinks. They were gross but I added crystal light pink lemonade and it was good. So I drank it all and it was easier. -
Sinus infection 3 weeks post op
Twinmomma422 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So yay for me lol. I got a sinus infection and I'm 3 weeks post op today. I can drink water and feel fine but when I try to drink my shakes I feel very nauseous and can't drink much. It's only been yesterday and today but I know I'm not getting my protein in. I'm trying but I can't just yet. I'm supposed to get 3 a day and can barely finish one and nothing the rest of the day. I know it won't last long but it's driving me nuts because I know I need to get it all down. I feel drained today and feel a nap will probably make me feel a bit better so I will try more shake later. Anyone have this issue? Any suggestions would be great. -

I will definitely try some soup here in a little bit. I'm hoping that will help. Thank you so much! -
I had to have two as well. It was extremely difficult to sleep. They said I have mild sleep apnea and gave me a CPAP as well. I hate it. I wake up more than I ever have before. I will wear it for the 6 hours required right now (for ins purposes) and take it off. I sleep so much better with out it. My pressure is only a 5.5 lowest setting is 4. I look horrible but here was mine.

BCBSIL PPO and nutritionist not covered!
Twinmomma422 replied to Wdwgirl74's topic in Insurance & Financing
I have BCBSIL PPO also they didn't cover mine but I only paid like $350 out of pocket for my visits which were only 3. They split it up in the three visits. That price. Seems a little high to me. I had my sleeve sept 9th. It took insurance 2 days to approve I hope once you get passed this step it will be a smooth ride for you. -
How long was ur process?
Twinmomma422 replied to nomorequitting's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My first consult was June 16th my surgery was September 9th. My insurance (BCBS OF IL) didn't have a waiting period. Good luck! -
weight stuck 2 weeks out
Twinmomma422 replied to Kgl24's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm literally going through the same thing right now. My two weeks date was Wednesday, I've lost about 27lbs and been the same for a few days. But I can tell my clothes are looser and my stomach isn't as close to the steering wheel when I drive. I'm going to start weighing once a week (or at least try) it's hard lol. Good luck to you!! -
Puréed suggestions please!
Twinmomma422 replied to Twinmomma422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I actually tried the pintos and cheese from Taco Bell today about 3 hours ago and have had no issues what so ever. My dr and nut do not have me on any other restrictions other than what I posted above. I obviously wouldn't try and "cheat" this early out so there aren't any worries there. I've read many people that said they tried homemade turkey chili puréed as one of their first foods and loved it. So I may just try that. Thank you. -
I *should* be able to start my puréed stage tomorrow after I see the surgeon. I'm one week post op today and would love some suggestions other than retried beans. It's top on my list lol

Puréed suggestions please!
Twinmomma422 replied to Twinmomma422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
The diet from my doctor is no peas, potatoes, or corn. Low sodium and low/no fat. That's pretty much it. No lumps and nothing you have to chew. -
Puréed suggestions please!
Twinmomma422 replied to Twinmomma422's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What about canned chili? I haven't read any labels or anything but I used to love wolfs brand. If I make some I might try ground turkey or chicken. Has anyone tried that? -
