Hey there September sleevers! Any one out there?

When you go shopping, I recommend restraint till you understand how your taste buds may change. I tried to be prepared, too. My taste buds changed so drastically, I didn't like most of what I bought (and normally liked.) Loved cherry flavor before...hated it after surgery. Loved chocolate flavor before...hated it after. Loved lemon flavored before surgery...hated it after. I had to send friends out shopping for vanilla everything.....pretty much. I would recommend buying enough for a cpl days and if your taste buds stay the same, send someone shopping at that point. That way if they change and you hate what you've stocked, you're not out that much $$. I still have pudding in my fridge, soups in my pantry, and my surgery was in April. I won't touch it still. Next food drive out they go! So much for being prepared, lol. ????, I wasn't prepared for my taste buds to change so drastically. I still get dry heaves at the thought of having to eat those flavors. Just a thought I felt I should pass on. ???? Hope it helps.

    Suddenly insecure

I actually increased my protein above 80g and still had hair loss. My dr said its not all about protein. ~so not a magic fix like I assumed at the beginning!!~ Rapid weight loss causes hair fall out. Vitamins help with regrowth but do not stop hair from falling out/breaking. Some people will have limited hair loss, some will have major hair loss but it will start growing back when the weight loss starts slowing down. There is no magic fix. Some people are just lucky. I looked and I am taking 15000 of Biotin. Sadly, not a magic fix, either. I'm spending a fortune in vitamins trying to keep my hair from falling out. I am not one of the lucky ones. I even thought about putting in braids but figured I wouldn't look like Bo Derek just yet...ha-ha~ha Dolly Parton has a good idea...On to wigs,I am thinking. ????

    Multivitamin and calcium and....

I have been taking biotin, Vitamin E, Folic Acid, Omega 3's and still have crazy hair loss. I used to have hair down to my behind and now its thin and shoulder length-all from fall out!. I am going to look into increasing the biotin and making some bone broth. , I am using Lose It to track protein intake and am psychotic about vitamin intake so I am at my wit's end.

    Struggling - Vitamins and Protein

I struggled right after my surgery too. I mixed the chocolate and vanilla Primier shakes together. That way, the chocolate wasnt too strong. Your taste buds go into a kind of shock, I think. Nothing tasyed good. I cried so much because everything tasted "too" sweet, "too" salty, "too" something.... It did get better. I like the chewable daily vitamins. Orange flavored...kind of chalky-but not too bad. Vitachews for calcium,/vitamin D, Krill Oil for omega 3, Vitamin E, Hair and Nails from Costco, (helps to maintain hair growth). Trial and error for the vitamins....what works for one, might not taste good/work with another...of course check with your DR to see what vitamins mix well with your meds. ????
