  1. Happy Birthday RosyPosy!

  2. Happy 49th Birthday RosyPosy!

  3. Hi all, thanks for your advice - the band's not been around for 30 years???beginning to really suspect now! I phoned doctor today and he said to come up on Friday to see him and he will "explore" the problem. Here's hoping! Will let you know how I get on. RP
  4. Hi, I will try to do a crunch type next time. I think you're right we do have to be proactive about our treatment. Tomorrow I'll ring my doctor and see what he has to say. Will fill you in - (as I hope I will be) Thanks all, RosyPosy
  5. That's really bad. How many mls do you have in the band now? I got my band done in Glasgow, do you mind me asking where you got yours? Let's hope we can both get this sorted out.
  6. Hi The way your doc does it sounds very good. My doctor/surgeon just asks me to lie down and pokes about with his finger then plunges in with the needle - no skin prep, nothing. Then, when he eventually finds the port, injects whatever amount he's prepared to give me then tells me to go out and drink a glass of water and if there are any problems drinking to contact the receptionist. When I first went to see him he told me he's being doing this op for 30 years and was one of the first, but I can't believe I'm the only patient this has happened to.
  7. Hi, I'm wondering if anyone else has had the same experience as me. I'm now at 9 mls in a 12 ml band - and I've no restriction. My doctor has always had problems locating my port with the needle and usually has at least five goes - which are quite painful. The last time he actually bent the needle and had to get another one to put in. I'm wondering since I don't have any restriction, could he possibly have punctured the side of the port or something and is the solution slowing leaking out? He's really surprised I haven't lost weight and it's now 8 months down the line. Has anyone else experienced this before? Do you think I'll need a replacement? Would welcome any responses. Thanks. 3rd fill in 14ml band tomo

Hi, thanks for your advice - I will try and go for a walk, I've been quite bad at doing that so far. Can I ask what sort of things do you eat and how much? Interesting to see you're at 8mls in two fills. My surgeon is loathe to give me larger fills, but I suppose he knows best. Lots of luck Rosy:tongue2:

3rd fill in 14ml band tomo

Hi everyone, I'm so glad I found this forum. I was banded on 23rd January 08 at the Nuffield in Glasgow by Mr J Smith. I've just had my third fill and now I'm up to 7 mls in a 14 ml band. I still don't feel much restriction but it's a little better but I've lost no weight since my first fill. Mr Smith says just to have small portions but it's hard when you still feel hungry. I seem to be able to eat anything at all. Does anyone have any suggestions, or is this the way it goes? I thought I'd lose so much quicker and I'm getting a bit frustrated. I have a terrible sweet craving and find myself eating all the wrong things mostly at night. Does anyone else feel the same? Well done to those who are losing - hope I'll join you all soon. Rosy x
