    No Appetite

I'm 3 weeks post op and have to talk myself into eating. I drink plenty of water. I'm looking into protein water.

    Dreams

Lots of weird dreams. Some seem so real that when I'm awake I wonder if it was a dream or memory. Confusing.
  3. I have PCOS as well. It was a big deciding factor for me choosing the RNY. I'm only 3 weeks out and haven't noticed a difference yet but I have high hopes that I will see a change soon. Cross your fingers for me!
  4. I feel like all I've posted are worries and complications so I wanted to post some gratitudes! Lost 6 lbs in the 2 weeks post op! 26 lbs including 2 week pre op diet! Swelling on ankles and feet all gone! My triple chin is now a double chin. My skin looks heather. I feel so hopeful about my health. No major complications. Should be ready to get back to work in another couple weeks. Some of tight clothes are fitting better.

    Left lower back pain

So I was given a higher, stronger dose of oral meds as well as Lidocaine Patches that I stick directly on the places that hurt the most. Between the two, my pain is manageable and I am grateful. I have a follow up with my doc Thursday and we'll go from there.
  6. I was told no Advil ever again because they will cause ulcers in your intestines.
  7. I have a friend who had RNY about 10 years ago. She did great. Lost weight. But in about 3 years she started gaining until she had gained it all back. At about 5 years after the first surgery she had a revision since her stomach had stretched out. She lost weight again just not as much as the first time and seems to be maintaining pretty well now just at a higher weight than the first go around.
  8. I was very dependent on Advil before the surgery so I literally feel your pain. I'm doing hot and cold packs along with Tylenol. My hope is that with further weight loss, my back pain will decrease and I won't miss the Advil so much. I'm interested in hearing how others have dealt with this issue.

  10. Thanks for the support. I'm hoping this is a short term setback.

    Left lower back pain

Me too. I'm so restless but the pain that comes with activity is hard core even with pain killers. I go in tomorrow for some Patches that are supposed to work really well. I hope.

I had the same diagnosis. Hurts like hell.

    Left lower back pain

Pain killers. Hot and cold packs. Nerve damage takes a long time to heal so I have a long road ahead of me. My dr said it's fairly common.
  14. Is it normal to gain weight in the hospital after surgery? Wtf?!
  15. 10 days later I'm finally down to my pre op weight. And my ankles aren't all swollen. Hooray!

    Left lower back pain

Could be nerve damage. I have some from my surgery and it's wicked.
  17. Well I reached my pain limit and went to the ER. They did a CT scan. I have Fluid collected in my abdomen that causes quite a bit of pain especially when drinking all my Water because it just adds more pressure. Anyone else had this? How long does does it take for the fluid to re absorb and pain to go away?
  18. I called the main line yesterday and the only weekend option was to page the dr on call who ignored me. I'll just keep trying.
  19. Hi. I'm only nine days out and still have surgery bloat so I've gained instead of lost. Hearing about your major weight loss and other huge accomplishments encourages me with my struggles right now. I understand about the scale not moving since mine moved up not down since surgery but my doc said not even to look at the scale until I see progress in other ways. I know you will get where you want to go. You've gone so far already! I've been repeating this quote to myself, "When you're going through hell, keep going."
  20. I'm getting about 30 oz of Water in a day and am retaining a LOT of water weight. My ankles are so swollen. I had an appointment on Friday but there was a shooting that had some roads blocked off so my doc didn't show up. Now the doc on call for the weekend is not returning my calls.
  21. Day 7 arrived! Added scrambled eggs, fat free refried Beans, and fat free cottage cheese... Day 8: sharp intermittent pain in my left side beside my belly button. Feels like a stitch in my side. I blame the beans. -.- It's been all day now. I called Dr but never got a call back. Is this just normal "growing" pains from adding firmer foods? I've been drinking plenty of fluids and Protein shake today and keeping it down. I've done a lot of walking too, to try to alleviate the pain. Nothing's worked. Suggestions? Help! Please.
  22. Hooray! I'm off my blood pressure and blood sugar meds too!
  23. I still weigh more than when I went in for surgery. Grrrrrr.
  24. I can't believe I'll be able to eat Taco Bell in another week! Woop!
